You Just Got Married at WDW - What're You Gonna Do Next? LIVE Blog from WDW (p.24)!

Yeah for WL!! Are you renting the points? We're planning on renting points for our trip next year. I keep changing my mind about where we want to stay!! 1st it was VWL, but then my BFF is coming with us so we need room for 5. So then it was AKV. But then i found i could get a 2bdrm at BWV for the same price of the 1 bdrm SV at AKV!! 2 bedroom is MUCH better than 1 bedroom. So for now, that's where we'll be. We still have 3 more months to change our mind! :rotfl:

And good for you adding those extra days :thumbsup2 I get cranky too, like you say rushing around like you do at home and the heat doesn't help ;) this year we're gonna slow down the pace a bit (although the Mousefest schedule is so tempting:rotfl: so many meets and not enough time)

Oh boy - you're going to Mousefest? I hope you do a trippie - I'd love to hear about it! And yes, we picked those two resorts just for you... ;)

Yeah for adding on 3 more days!!! :cool1: Wilderness Lodge has been under the radar for me until recently. Now I'm obsessing over it-- especially for a Christmastime visit. But I will have to check out the room decor. The lobby photos have me at hello.

:rotfl:

That's so funny - I was obsessing over BoardWalk Inn the same way. The theming at these places just gets under your skin... I hope you can do a Christmas visit to WL - I'll bet it's gorgeous!! :lovestruc

I love that picture of you telling DH to get out of the tree is hilarious!!!

What a cut-up he is! :cutie:

Oh my gosh - I would loooove to rent a 1-bedroom, just for the jacuzzi tub!! You should do it!

We're doing a cash ressie for Wilderness Lodge though b/c it's sold out through DVC that week. :sad1: In fact, all the studios are sold out at the places we wanted: BWV, BCV, and AKV! I didn't want the lady we rent from to have to hassle with a waitlist, plus sometimes they don't come through, and then we'd be homeless!

Just joining in here. I read your pj, wedding report and this ptr. Now I am off to read your tr for the September trip. Looking forward to it.

Welcome! :wave2:

Well today's update is... I bought airline tickets for our anniversary trip!

It felt really weird cuz I usually wait until 2 months before, but airfares have been so atypical lately, I wasn't sure they'd ever be this low again.

Thanks to www.yapta.com, I was able to track the flight we wanted and get a notification when the price dropped. Well yesterday the price of a nonstop trip from LA to Orlando dropped to $266 +tax - the lowest price I've seen in more than a year of watching prices! So I snapped them up.

The bad thing about Yapta is it will taunt me if the price goes even lower  It's this feature they have that helps you get a refund if the price drops after you buy. However, with American Airlines' policy, I'd have to pay $150 to change the ticket to a cheaper one... :headache:

Anyway, it's one step closer to our trip! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :hyper:

Wow, $266 is a good price!! I can't get it that cheap out of Chicago!

Oh thank you for saying that! :goodvibes I feel much better about buying so early ....

Have you tried using kayak.com or bookingbuddy.com to search airfares on multiple carriers at once? Once you find a flight that sounds good, you can track it on Yapta to see how the price is fluctuating (plus a history of the price over the last year).

Still... it's all such a gamble!

We just gave up. :headache: looking at prices this year, and expecting to not drop a considerable amount for next year, for 4 people, PLUS all our luggage for the week and the VR, it just didn't make sense. So we'll be driving, which just makes all the sense int eh world!! Now in addition to not having to worry about $$ to get everything down there, we won't have to shell out an addition $200+ to get from WDW to DCL! And we can maybe drive to some resort restaurants that may have been out of the question due to transportation issues. (bus hopping for dinner sucks with small kids:eek: )

Awwww, very touching :goodvibes Gald we've inspired you to stay at WL - we just loved it. Hopefully we'll enjoy SS just as much :thumbsup2

Yey for Mousefest, DH isn't so keen on all the meets but I'm sure I'll convince him ('oh look the Muppet meet is around the corner, shall we see what it's all about' - I've got it all planned!) We're def doing the opening meet and the Mega Mouse Meet :woohoo:
And we can't wait to hear the Podcast Crew come up with - special super dooper meet to be announced

So glad you've got flights, looks like the price of gas/oil is dropping and hopfully it'll resume a reasonable rate :confused3

What meals have you got planned?

We've got 57 days to go :woohoo:

Lucky you! I *wish* we had the option to drive! Although that would mean not living where we do. Hmmm....

Wow, $260 is what we're paying out of Dallas!

BUT, no checked bag charges for us! :cool1:

Good job! :thumbsup2

Oooh - will you do a trippie about Mousefest? That would be fun to read!

So, without further ado, here are our

Dining Reservations So Far...

Jan. 28: Artist Point – 7:40pm

Jan. 29: Jiko – 5:30pm with Jennifaerie & Rob!

Jan. 30 – Liberty Tree Tavern – 11:30am
California Grill – 7:35pm

Jan. 31 – Restaurant Marrakesh – 12pm
Dinner in Winter Park with Nathan & Jensey!

Feb. 1 – Beaches & Cream!
Brown Derby – 7pm

Feb. 2 – Chefs de France – 12pm
Le Cellier – 7:30pm

Feb. 3 – Narcoossee's - 8:30pm

Feb. 5 – Flying Fish – 6:30pm

Feb. 6 – Yachstman Steakhouse– 7:30pm

I'm trying to think up other places we'd like to eat that will fit with our touring plans. In terms of Signature Places, I think we've pretty much hit all the ones we're interested in. I guess I should give Narccoosee's another chance, but our meal there last year coulda come from Red Lobster...

Also, we kinda want to eat at San Angel Inn again and maybe try the Biergarten just for the atmosphere (the food doesn't appeal to me at all though  )

And I don't know how many to add to the end of the trip. I like to keep the last couple days of the trip less scheduled so we can park hop or not even go in the parks. And one of those days we hope to meet up with our pals Nathan & Jensey to see the sites in Winter Park. But the whole 180-day ADR racket kinda dictates that we make reservations just so we can be assured of getting in somewhere...

Sorry Carrie... I didn't mean to take over half the page with giant pictures... but these deserve to be giant!! ;)

YES! All the books say that it has a long wait cuz it's so small and doesn't take ressies, but we had no trouble getting in the three times we've been...

Sorry Carrie... I didn't mean to take over half the page with giant pictures... but these deserve to be giant!! ;)

Bless you - these pictures will tide me over til February...

That looks GOOD :lovestruc

Paws off - that one's MINE!!! :rotfl:

And for anyone who's keeping score, I think I may be one step closer to convincing DH we need to buy DVC at Beach Club Villas (I mean, when our ship comes in! :lmao: ). Last night he was looking at our pre-ceremony pix from the lobby and said very wistfully, "That was such a great hotel..."

Whohoo!

They just released AP rates for select resorts on select dates (always with the "select"), and I was able to drop our Wilderness Lodge ressie to $144/night! :hyper: That's almost $100 off the rack rate!

Now, of course, I'm beginning to think about switching to a Courtyard View for $189/night, but that would only save us $15 on our original AAA rate for a Standard, and apparently you're not guaranteed a main pool/Bay Lake view....

What to do....? :rolleyes1

So I thought I forgot to post this when I got it, but DISer SandraVB79 sent me a postcard from REAL Morocco when she went there on a last-minute mini-break a few weeks ago. Oh, to live in Europe and be able to take last-minute mini-breaks to places like MOROCCO!

Also: I have updated our dining reservations on the previous page, if anyone cares! :cutie: We were able to make a date at Jiko with Jennifaerie & Rob (who feature prominently in my current trip report), and we're getting a tour of Winter Park from the Roots, so I was able to firm up our dining plans for Feb. 3 & 6. Exciting stuff, I tells ya! popcorn::

Oh, and I'm trying desperately to figure out how to take advantage of the new 7 Nights for the Price of 4 deal Disney's offering, but I think my boss will prolly fire me if I ask for time off to go to WDW for a fifth time in 2 years.... :lmao:

Wowie wow wow! Our trip is coming up in...

24 Days!!!

Now I'd better start re-reading this pre-trippie so I can remember what all we're doing.... :rotfl:

Wow, it seems like you were JUST there! Time went quickly that's for sure

Enjoying your reports Carrie. I'm excited for you. We're staying at WL in March and our first ressie is also Artist Point. So... I'm looking forward to your review. I hope it's good. I've been reading mixed reviews lately.

You're going this month... Have fun. Looks like you and DH make your own fun wherever you are. Loved your wedding photos - so sophisticated. My DH and I were such kids when we got married many years ago.
