My daughter and her family are staying with us in a CC cabin in December. We won’t all be together all the time, so I was thinking that we each had to purchase MM separately (she is an owner, too). Is this correct? Example: She is at MK and we are at EPCOT, but both trying to utilize the Members Lounge.

I have a feeling we both need to be enrolled.

Yes, in order to use the priority lounge access the owner who purchased MMB needs to be present.

Thanks! Looks like 2 MMB’s will be purchased. In all honesty, it will probably make things a lot less “messy”.

Yeah that took me by surprise because sometimes my husband and I go off on our own at WDW. But there can be a benefit in buying 2 memberships - two sets of the maximum 24 OTUP that are BOGO (48 points for $480), plus 2 Memory Maker activations.

If you own your contract with your spouse, you only have to buy one MMB, right? Like, MMB works per membership, and everyone on the membership is included - or do you have to name just one person as the MMB member and they serve as the "keyholder" or whatever?

If I buy one MMB, can my wife and I both use it independently, since we're on the same membership?

Actually, no. MMB+ is tied to the specific individual. They can use it for others, such as buying APs with points for others who qualify, but the individual who purchased MMB would need to be present for something like the priority lounge access or the special meet and greet. Or if the person who bought MMB did not join the family trip to WDW, the memory maker credit could not be activated for that.

And that is why it is possible for multiple owners to buy MMB from the same contract. It did seem odd to me! But now I’m going to use it to my advantage lol.

Is this accurate? My wife and I own all of our DVC points together under one membership. If I buy MMB under my Disney account, she would not be able to enjoy priority lounge access if I am not there? That's ridiculous and if true cements my decision to never buy this junk and continue my crusade in the hope that it fails.

I am with you. But, that is because, IMHO, MMB is just a Lightning Lane option for the lounges, which used to be FCFS...

Yeah this aspect is quite ridiculous. That’s the way the program was set up. MMB is tied to the individual, not the membership.

Interesting. That feels crazy. I guess the upside is that if you are ever in dire need of more one time use points, you can have 2 individuals on the same membership both buy MMB and get them BOGO, right?

Yes and now. The rules for OTU points didn’t change so a membership can only get 24 per UY

If both owners have MMB, they’d be able to get the deal but only if the points were being purchased for different UY of trips.

But, if they did, then they would be able to buy them the follow year.

Here is an example, I bought them for my June 2025 UY…got all 24 of them and paid for 12.

If my DH decided to buy MMB for 2025, he could unlock the benefit, but only for a reservation used in our June 2026 UY because I already got the maximum allowed for 2025 UY.

But, if he did, then next years I couldn’t get more points in the 2026 UY.

Where is a real benefit is for owners with multiple UYs…because they are different memberships.
