Booking restaurants when you don't have a meal plan

I'm excited to have booked our hotel stay. I wasn't prompted to book restaurants after making my hotel reservation, so, when I can make them? I didn't get the package, because we generally eat light, but I would like to get in at Walt's. What's the booking window for people who don't have a meal plan?

You dont need a meal plan to book restaurants. If you are staying onsite, at any of the 6 Disney hotels or Davy Crockett Ranch, you can book restaurants as soon as you have a confirmed booking. Restaurant reservations open the same time as onsite bookings.

Off site people can only book restaurants 60 days in advance of their park tickets.

I'm staying on site but when I try to book at Manhattan or Walt's it's telling me I have to be 60 days out. The book on the dates of your stay button is grayed out. Do I need to be paid in full or something?

Thats because its not recognizing your booking. You need to be logged in to do the booking. You really should use the App. Its much easier.

So in the App it's telling me that I can't book until 12 months out - even with a hotel reservation. That's good to know.
