You guys have suggested that Thurs. and Sun. are good ending days,
Those are days that the stats show lots of people on eBay..but that doens't mean they are buying..they may all be there putting up auctions. There are tons of reasons one day may be better than another..but really, if someone is looking for what you have to sell, they'll find it no matter what day you list on.
My only real recommendation is not to end it too early in the morning, and miss the people out west. A lot of people say Monday's are bad, but I sell a lot of my retired husbands tools on Mondays. For a while I was listing on Tues-Weds because it was convenient for me..and I still sold. Sometimes I put up 10 day auctions on a Thursday and get skunked..other days I can't keep up.
They say don't list to end during Super Bowl..I say why not..those of us who hate football want something to do. I like to list during lots of rain..I seem to do well..but duh! it's only raining at my house..not in sunny California.
Don't worry about listing and ending..you'll feel your way and soon see what works best for you.
Those of you selling very low end stuff..just be sure to do the math. You do need to take all of your fees into consideration. Although it's fun to sell on eBay, you might want to group items to keep the fees down. I helped out a gal a couple of years ago get started, and when I did her Schedule C, we found out that all that money that came in on eBay..went back out..in fees, gas, etc. She really never looked a the whole picture. She did a lot of work for just about nothing.
Also, don't feel that just because some of us put up a 100 or more auctions, that you have to compete...and end up burning yourself out. Unless people are looking at just your seller list..they have no way of knowing if you have one item up or a zillion. Have fun with it!
Not to rain on CAnn...because if she could sell her enthusiasm, she would be rich..but not everything sells....or I should say not everything sells at a price that makes the work worth it. CAnn has a lot of stuff to sell right in her house. Not all of us do. Do some homework on eBay first, before you do the work of listing, and see if you will be happy with what you are likely to get. I have a brand new paid of Scooby slippers..brandy new. I think they should go for $5.00. I see they are selling (when they are selling) for .99. Not worth putting up in my mind. Don't be discouraged, most of us have something good to sell we don't want anymore, but also, don't expect everything to bring vintage Barbie Doll prices...and decide which items will be worth it to you.
