Xmas Lights and Decorations?

Can anyone tell me when the Christmas lights and decorations go up at WDW and even the other non-Disney parks.? I know that this is probably been asked before but search is down right now and I'm wondering if the lights etc. are on the week before the US Thanksgiving?

Can't speak for the non-WDW properties but I can tell you that holiday decorations start going up about a week after Halloween, starting with the resorts and ending with the completion of the Magic Kingdom decorations, the day before Thanksgiving. So things are definitely in holiday mode during the time period you are speaking of.

Our family was in WDW 11/16/02 - 11/23/02, and each day we awoke to new Christmas decorations put up while we were asleep by the Disney elves. We have lot of pics of Mickey and friends in Santa oufits and other holiday attire. It was kinda cool seeing all the characters themselves dressed up!

The schedule is spread-out over a 2-3 week period to encompass all of the parks, resorts and shops on propertly. Last year The DIS posted the exact schedule on its main web site.

If memory serves, all of the decorations were in place before Thanksgiving.
