In regards to the tribute last night: WWE RAW is normally taped earlier than they claim; I'm pretty sure they always say it's live, but if memory serves, it is actually taped a little earlier (even if by an hour or two). As a matter of fact, a few years ago, I think they taped RAW on Sunday Nights but still advertised it as a live show, but I can't be 100% sure on that. At the time they taped the tribute(s), it was early in the afternoon when all anyone knew was that the family was found dead..so I don't find it surprising or find fault in the fact they did a tribute show AT THAT TIME. Even with the text messages, which I don't think anyone knows the context of yet unless I missed that, there was no 100% way to know that Chris Benoit killed his entire family. The WWE has always done tribute shows right away when a wrestler has died; when Eddie Guerrero died several months ago, they did the same thing, same with other wrestlers. Tonight, WWE airs ECW which is the show Chris was on and it's already been reported there will be no tribute other than perhaps the ringing of the bell 10 times and that is the right move on WWE's part. If they had todays knowledge yesterday, I'd like to believe they wouldn't have done the same kind of tribute.
I'm interested in seeing what happens or what the fallout is from the reported finding of steroids. That could be a huge PR issue for WWE and Vince McMahon if steroid use is rampid because IIRC, Vince has always spoken out against steroid use and reportedly tests quite often for it.
