Saw it this morning on the news. Benoit, his wife and kid were found dead in their Fayette, County GA home last night. They are thinking murder-suicide but won't know until the autopsy this afternoon. Very very sad.

What I'm wondering is why the WWE held a 3 hour memorial tribute show that they're running on TV for him, when they suspect that they killed his wife and 7 year old son.

Not the kind of person that should be getting a tribute show in my opinion :/

Yes, I agree. Very odd. The news release said that the WWE had received several odd text messages from him on Sunday which prompted them to send authorities to his home.

I don't believe that was what was suspected at the time, it was originally thought to just be a murder investigation.

I absolutely agree IF he killed his wife and child he should not have been honored! However, do we know who was the killer and who was the victim? (besides that poor darling little boy who certainly was a victim)

At the time of the show they didn't know how they were killed.
WWE has done those tributes when a wrestler dies .
I'm not sure if they did it for Eddie Guerreo but they did it for Bret Hart.

Supposedly no one knew anything about Murder/Suicide before the tribute. I was up late and the stories hit around 2 AM.

According to all the articles the WWE are the one's that called the police after getting some very strange text messages from Benoit. So from the beginning it appears that they knew something strange was going on, and that it wasn't just a murder. Most murder victims don't send strange text messages to their employers right before they're killed :/

There was no indication of suicide when they got to the house.
The show is live, they had to do something right away.
WWE does these tributes when a wrestler dies.
Majority of multiple suicides are killed by guns.
There was no guns or blood in the house.

And it could have been his wife who committed the crime. Until all the facts are in, I'll reserve judgement.

They say the wife died first, the son second and Chris last, with the first murder saturday

I feared the worst when I was flipping channels and I saw they were doing a tribute last night. Now I know. :(

No one is judging anyone, but this whole thing wasn't pointing to a triple murder case from the beginning. If I was the WWE I would have at least waited to see what happened first, they didn't HAVE to do the tribute, they already had another show lined up.

The Atlanta Jounal is reporting that the wife and son were killed sometime this weekend and he died sometime on Monday. The timeline makes it pretty obvious who the killer was

Even though I'm a little surprised that the WWE cares but following the current storyline of who killed Vince McMahon would have been tasteless under the circumstances. I think it's good that they didn't follow through with that at least.

Another show outlining a fake death (storyline). I think it would have been in more extremely bad taste for them to continue with that show then do the show that they did. This whole thing wasn't pointing to anything from the beginning in my opinion, especially with the main rumors going around of CO2 poisoning last night.

But I'm starting to think that I'm probably just naive for wanting to wait and hear a statement from the lead investigator before making any judgments.

They couldn't wait because it's a live show and they didn't have the information that he killed his family.

The story line for last night's show was the demise & death of Vince.
They could not have played that last night knowing one of their wrestlers died.

Yes they did have another show lined up. A 3 hour RAW with the storyline focus being "The Funeral of Mr. McMahon". Kinda tacky to do a storyline about a fake death when one of your top talents was found dead in his home just a few hours before air time.

WWE had to make a quick decision yesterday. Run a show about a fake death & have regularly scheduled matches or run a tribute to one of their better talents. I think they made the right choice.
