worst experience at disney?

My worst experiences was more of a third party with Magical Express. Last trip my Mom and I got onto Magical Express to go to the Airport from All Star Sports. They must have had a group or maybe a team of younger men all in wheelchairs. It was painfully obvious that noone informed ME of the fact that they were ALL in wheelchairs, which some could get out and sit in a chair, but others had to stay in theirs. They wound up only getting 2 or 3 on the bus because the bus was already packed from picking up other resorts. I felt so bad for them and you could tell they were really upset.

Last week I got into it with a dad over stroller parking. Apparently, I took the "spot" he had been eyeing from across the street (this was early in the day, and there were tons of spots) After a min. or so, I just walked away and he continued to yell at me and then glared at me as we made our way through the line for Nemo

Last summer my kids and I were riding a bus back to Pop Century. I was standing near the rear exit, which is where the wheelchair lift is. We were all boarded and the doors closed - ready to leave. I rearranged my arm around one of the metal poles so I would not shift/fall during the ride. All of a sudden the door opens and I feel this pressure on my arm. OMG! My arm is wedged between the pole and the door. Thank goodness a gentleman behind me saw what was happening and wedged his fist in the door trying to stop it from squishing my arm more. Every time I try to pull my arm out, the door shifts more and squeezes more. Now people are yelling "open the door". Finally, the driver opens the door and apologizes for what happened. I did get a nice bruise as a souvenir!

Last August when some ******** stole my bag out of our truck that was full of underwear and toiletries at CSR. The nerve. People will steal ANYTHING ANYWHERE! I just hope all that dark unlucky "dust" I wished upon them paid off! :furious:

HAHA when I was 9 I got a splinter under my nail that went all the way to the bottom of my nailbed lol when I was walking through the Swiss family robinson tree house...it was a huge splinter. We went to the first aid place and they took it out...I was fine and never traumatized.....I still keep going to Disney lol.

Mine happens every time we go. On our last day, they make us check out and go home. :lmao:

No really, mine would have to be from my first trip. It is not as bad as most of the others, but it was so tramatic at the time. It was in 1980 and I was 4 yr old. We had driven to WDW from Texas. It was my mom, dad, brother (7 yr old), sister (was 3 yr old, but mom told Disney she was 2). When we got to the parking lot, when were ready to get in quick. My parents told us that we were not going in, that we were just going to look at it from the parking lot. Of course we all three started crying, and did until we were practically walking into the MK. I loved Snow White, and I was so excited to find out about a Snow White ride. That was until we went to get on it, and it was not open.:( I don't remember what the sign said other than my parents saying that the ride wasn't working. At that moment I was pretty sure that my life was over, and that nothing would make up for it. It totally ruined the trip for me, and I can't remember anything from the trip after that point.
I spent the next 14 years swearing I would ride that ride as soon as I could go back to Disney World. The next time I went to WDW, I was 18 and I was too busy drooling over my future DH to ride it. In 2000 my DH and I went to WDW for our 5th wedding anniversary. The first park we went to was MK, and the first thing we did was find the Snow White ride and get in line. Finally after 24 years of waiting, I got to ride the Snow White ride. Even though the Snow White ride being closed ruined my first trip, getting to ride it for the first time with my DH after 24 years of waiting made the entire trip with my DH.

My worst experience is when we have to leave (so it's the same as letthewookiewin's experience). Disney world is fun and I never had any bad experience!

We just returned on Saturday night from our first Disney vacation ever,we were so disappointed with almost every park.Animal Kingdom was the best park we visited. The employees there were very nice and we had a good time.Magic Kingdom was the worst, the people were rude and it was so crowded we couldn't even walk.We rode 2 rides and waited a long time for them. When we went to Epcot we didn't ride anything, with a fast pass the wait for soarin was 6 hours.I would not recommend the Dinosaur ride to anyone that has children that are under the age of 13,this is at Animal Kingdom,it is very scary. We couldn't believe how rude the people are in Florida. We feel like it was a huge waste of money to go to Disney. We have a son who is almost 7 and he even said he didn't ever want to go back.We did take an airboat ride while in Florida that was awesome.I would suggest it to anybody that was going.

While it is possible to plan without using this board, I think that most people who have a good plan have used this board. I think a plan is key. While having a good time at disney is possible without one, I would think it would be hard unless you have no expectations at all.

We had our first day at Disney yesterday and went to MK. We followed the Unofficial guide and finished everything up to the point they said take lunch, by 11:15, with the exception of POTC, which we knew was closed. So I think we were ahead of schedule. Longest wait was 20 min and that was splash mountain. After that we just went around looked at the sites and rode the rides we wanted too and used FP to the max.

FP is the key. Fortunately for us most people don't take the time to figure this system out.

We truley did not wait more than 20 minutes for a ride. I had read this and did not think it was possible when I read posts about people doing this, but it is.

I will agree about the rude people, if you are talking about the guests. But I assumed these were people who did not plan, so they were not having a good time because they were aggrevated. The Cast Members were excellent. Disney really knows that customer service is the key. One little boy got an ice cream cone, took one lick, and it fell onto the floor. A cast member immediately took the boy to the front of the line and got him a new cone. Everybody was happy.

The people were thick aftter lunch, but we had already ridden everything we wanted to, so we weren't in a big hurry, so it wasn't a big problem.

I do have three (minor) complaints.

1. People walking without looking. (Actually this was kind of fun, because I'm 6'4", 275lbs, so when someone was going to walk into us, I just stuck my hand out and easily redirected them)

2. People on those little scooters. They think they own the place, they just kept going, never slowing down or changing course. I nearly got hit by them several times. They are not so easy to redirect. :rotfl2:

3. Nasty water from the drinking fountains. I was raised in Lubbock, TX, so I know what nasty water tastes like, and I really could not drink this. We all have Camel backs that were filled when we arrived and lasted until after lunch, but I wouldn't dare to fill them with that water. We just got ice and bought some drinks after that.

To quote the menu system:

"Blackened Catfish - Served over pepperjack cheese grits, topped with a smoked tomato compote, and drizzled with a balsamic glaze. - $16.99 " :(

The only good thing was that by not eating it, it left me space to eat 2 Baileys and Jack Daniel's Mousses! :hyper:

This is all at Coral Reef by the way!

Well said. A good plan trumps crowd size every time.

Our Last trip in 2005 with Me Wife 2Kids 3 and 5, wife's Cousins and two kids, Three Grandma's and one Grandpa.

First night before 3year old gets croup, lucky we have medication and he was ok by morning.

That night the cousins and there two kids call, they went one night early and the code for the villa was incorrect and we couldn't contact the owner because she was in the UK on Holiday. We were worried we were being ripped off since we never rented a Villa before. So I was up to 3am trying to get the code. They had to get a hotel for the night but were able to get in the next morning.

Once we were in Orlando my son with the croup have the worst nosebleed of his short life and almost took him to an emergency room, but it stopped right before we made the decision. This also led to our first hidden Mickey, a blood stain on a tissue was shaped like Mickey!

To top it off the kids were so excited to see the private pool in the Villa, my son with the croup and the nosebleed decided to walk straight into the deepend and my Mother in Law had to jump in with her clothes on to retrieve him.

None the Less..... This was the greatest Vacation Ever!!!! Everything else went perfect.

wow...Did you do any planning? Just curious...
(one less person I have to worry about!)

During our last trip several years ago, my 15 yr old son fainted at Animal Kingdom, hitting his head on the way down. Ambulance was called and off we went to spend the rest of the day at the hospital. They never figured out what happened and decided it was a reaction to a medication he was on. He was fine once we got to the hospital and for the many hours we were there. He finally gets released and dh, ds and I walk out of the hospital. My son is so happy to be out, he is walking in front of us, but looking back at us talking and about 10 steps out of the hospital door, walks right smack into a concrete pillar, almost knocking himself out again. It wasn't funny then, but we get a good laugh out of it now. He insisted he was fine, and get him the heck out of there.

spend time on the message boards, learn how to do disney. we have been in july and wont go back then because of the crowds, and weather... we love wdw and go as often as we can use these boards for your next trip, give it another visit before you decide on not ever going again:thumbsup2

Yes, so much of the success of a WDW trip is in the planning! I have a dear friend who went to Disney over spring break. I told her all about ADRs and how to make a ride plan. I even let her "borrow" my Disney books (which she has never returned, oh well) Anyway, I told her she better plan because she Disney was going to be crowded.

She returned and has yet to stop telling me how crazy I am for liking WDW at all and how expensive and crowded it was.

Some people never listen! :confused3

On our last trip this past Feb. I had done the months of planning thing, organized everything to the max.
Spent the month before the trip sanitizing my 4 year old every time she took a breath, and even kept her out of pre-school a few days before our trip to avoid getting an illness.

Everyone was great on the flight down, and the first night, she woke up with a 103 fever, and vomiting.
From there we encountered many trips to Celebration urgent care, and a $50 ride to the hospital (by cab).

We did have a lovely time, she was a total trooper, and really only felt snotty at night,,,,
but on our next trip, to hell with the sanitizing, didn't work anyway!

2 days before my vacation ended in 06 I am sitting at the bakery on Main St in MK with my son enjoying breakfast and looking at the castle. I get a phone call it is my mother crying and freaking out because 2 days before they found my brother laying on his apartment floor passed out due to a blood clot in his head and they were just wheeling him into brain sugery when she called. Don't know why she waited 2 days to call but it was the most awful experience. I try not to think about it when I see the castle now.

The worst experience would have to be when I was walking under that huge ball in Epcot and it rolled off and killed about a hundred people. Including me!

Naw, I got nothin'.

My worst experience at Disney was probably our second day there (ever), when we were trying to get to our very first ADR, and I misjudged the transit time. We needed to go from WL to CR. Tried the boat. No boat. Tried the bus to MK then walk, but no bus. By that point, I'm frantic, thinking I'd ruined our evening.

But then we got a cab, and the cabbie drove us there for free (tho I did tip him), and it all worked out. :)

A major aggravation, not a tragedy...but someone stole my coat. I laid it down to pay for something and when I bent over to pick it up it was gone. Never turned up in Lost and Found. It was December and it was cold in the evenings and I had to pay $65 for a hooded sweatshirt I had not planned on spending. I hope the thief enjoyed the coat, but I doubt they took it because they needed a coat! We're pretty sure they went through the pockets and found out they were empty and threw it away. We did check the trash cans in the area but no coat.

This really ruined the Candlelight Processional for me that evening because I shivered through the whole thing just wishing it would get over so I could get inside somewhere. CP is one of the most beautiful parts of being at Disney during the Christmas season, and I don't really remember anything about it except how cold I was. We stopped at MouseGear on the way out and I bought a fleece jacket for $45 to go over the sweatshirt.

Like I said it was not tragic, but it sure dimmed the Disney Magic for me that day.
