WORST DISNEY DINING EXPERIENCE

Auntie Gravity's isn't a sit down but my husband had such bad service it was funny. Well, funny now he was seriously irritated at the time.

Husband: can I have vanilla ice cream with strawberries.
Server: whipped cream?
h: no whipped cream.
She hands him I e cream with whipped cream
H: I'm sorry, I said no whipped cream.
Server throws it away and makes a new one and puts whipped cream on it.
H: uh, my daughter doesn't like whipped cream. Please just ice cream and strawberries. No whipped cream.
Server hands him a new one. With whipped cream.
H: uh, I don't know... I want one without whipped cream. Just ice cream and strawberries.
Server: oh yes, ok, no whipped cream.
H sees her pick up the whipped cream and says: you're not going to out whipped cream on it right?
Server nods and PUT WHIPPED CREAM on it!! Lol!
I don't know how he did it but he eventually came out of there with ice cream and strawberries without whipped cream.

Is there anywhere good to eat at disney? Based on this thread it seems all the restaurants have bad service and bad food.

Yes! Well let's see, not losing sight that it's a theme park which serves hords of people there are hits and misses. With that said, the signatures do a better job, but certain restaurants even though they're all Disney seem to have more issues than others. Coral Reef 10+ years was fantastic now just getting your credit card back at the end can take 20 min. I've found Sci-Fi always to be a little long to get your food but it's popular, I like the food and the the theming keeps me coming back. People's expectations can be at times somewhat unrealistic, it's Disney, and often quality has no relation to the price charged. We pay the premium to eat in the park, alternatives pack food and keep it in a locker or eat outside of the park, thus the creation of the dining plan. Keeps you and your wallet in the park. I've been going to Disney since it opened and I always find good places and things to eat!

Few and far between really. If some of the place had to stand on their own outside of Disney they'd be in big trouble.

I have been to WDW 22 times. Every meal that I have had has been good. But maybe that is just me. We just got back from WDW and as I said in an earlier comment everything was great.

We've had some good meals at Disney - Yachtsmen, Chefs de France, Boma and Teppan Edo were all good meals with good service. In fact, I don't recall experiencing bad service at a Disney restaurant. The food has been subpar a few times though - we won't go back to Cape May (dinner), Crystal Palace (breakfast) or Rose & Crown. San Angel Inn wasn't terrible but wasn't good enough to try again. With respect to counter service, I'll never again eat at Cosmic Ray's or Pecos Bill - bad food and dirty environs.

Our "worst experience" at a Disney restaurant wasn't because the food tasted poorly. We had dinner at O'hana. They were an hour behind on their seating, we received our food before our drinks, and never had drink or meat refills despite asking multiple times. Our food was cold. It was just a bad, busy night for the restaurant, but the service was fine at an earlier date so I'm not totally writing it off for the future.

I have some amazing meals at WDW. Narcoossee's, Brown Derby, Cali Grill, V&A, Sanaa, Artist's Point, etc.

As for bad, I've never had a worse meal in my life than BOG dinner. I actually stopped eating my shrimp for fear of food poisoning.

Dang! Did you have to pay for that meal?

We've been to Disney regularly over the past 10 years, and our experiences with poor service have been almost non-existent aside from one standout with a single CM. Additionally, we've very rarely had terrible food (though I am not a fan of Chef Mickey's). People sometimes treat Disney like the restaurants are top-tier, and I think this leads to some of the criticism. For most restaurants, the theming is fabulous, typically there are a couple of standout items that are reliably better than the rest of the items, there is authenticity in cultural cuisine, and the service is top-notch. However, these places have table turnover that is not even closely matched by a typical town's standard chain restaurants on a busy holiday weekend, so I find it impressive that they do as good of a job as they almost always do.

Even at Disney, perhaps it is wise to consider managing expectations because outside of V&A, no one is eating at Le Bernardin or Oxheart when they are at Disney!

Be Our Guest breakfast was by far the worse meal that I have ever had at Disney World. The food was bad. The service was awful, and the person taking my order was very, very rude with any questions that I asked.

We had a bad experience at Ohana. There were two of us and we were sat in the middle right next to where the Congo line and coconut rolling lane. It was an enjoyable night getting our feet hit with coconuts and then getting bumped by the Congo goers. Wouldn't ya think that a table for two would be a couple of adults who wanted to be away from the action. It seemed like all the large tables were near the windows and when the kids wanted to join in the fun... Guess who they would bump into....

That's interesting. DH and I have been to 'Ohana 3 times together and we've always been seated up against the window because the tables right by the windows are 3-top tables. Of course, they could have re-arranged things since the last time I was there.

We have been to DW twice now. The first time was with Deluxe Dining. While we haven't had any "worst dining experiences", we've had some less than enchanting experiences for various reasons.

Tony's Town Square (dinner) - We will probably not visit again anytime soon. The waiter was very scarce and we never got refills on our drinks. The restaurant was dirty feeling. The bathrooms are not adequate for the amount of customers they have.. seriously, 2 stalls in the women's restroom? The restroom, that you have to go to the lobby to get to, was disgusting. I was thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness of restrooms at the parks until then.. Food was just EH. Had much better at Mama Melrose.

Sci fi (dinner) - Service was fine and we were lucky enough to get a car table, but food was flavorless. I had a burger and I swear it tasted like nothing. Waitress pushed desserts on us after we told her we were full, thank you. She boxed up fruit and flourless brownies for us "to go". We really didn't need or want these, but took them anyway.

Ohana - We love Ohana, but the wait is dreadful. Do not expect to get in before at least 30 minutes after your ADR time. Food is good, but we prefer the salad over the lettuce wraps and I personally think the noodles are too gummy. The first time we went one of my sons asked for a hot dog kids meal, at the waitresses suggestion, and she never brought it. We didn't think much of it, though.

Landscape of Flavors - I seriously hope it's gotten better in there because we are going to AoA again this December. I'm not a fan of the different stations and utter chaos of the whole place. It's particularly taxing on a family with multiple kids. Having to go to one stations for kid A, then B, then C, then D and finally it's time for the parents.. by then you've zig zagged all over the place. A nice touch screen order area similar to Sheetz would be FANTASTIC in there!

Coral Reef (dinner) - Didn't care for it, but nothing stood out as too bad. Disappointed to be seated as far as possible from the tanks and we were coming off a really crappy rainy day so we were irritable to begin with.

Akershus (breakfast) - Felt more rushed here than at CRT. Buffet wasn't impressive to me, but I enjoyed everything else brought to the table.

BOG (lunch) - This is easily our most favorite restaurant for dinner so we were very excited to try lunch here and choose our own seats etc.. This was while they were still testing FP's and I got up to the podium and of course the gentleman said our reservation wasn't in the system, please move along and let the next person up. He was rude and unsympathetic, offering no advice just dismissed me and went to the next person. Now, I have some sympathy for them having to deal with everyone in the park coming up there and wanting to get in and having to turn them away, but dang it I KNOW I had a reservation and you know the system is glitchy. Do NOT treat me like someone who is trying to scam my way in. It's hotter than the surface of the sun and we were turned away with no suggestions. Finally, I got the bright idea to pull it up on my phone and sure enough it showed up so I marched back up there to show the gentleman and of course he was gone. The new person at the kiosk let us in, we ordered and were led to a seat. We didn't get to pick at all which was disappointing since it was part of the appeal of lunch. Food was nothing to write home about and certainly not worth the hassle.

Trails End Buffet (dinner) - I have seen no bad reviews on this, but I have to say I will not be returning to this buffet. It was seriously lacking, just felt like a half empty buffet. Waitress was pretty awesome, though.

Crystal Palace (breakfast) - First time we ate here I swore I wouldn't do it again. They pack too many people in and I feel like I was going to elbow people around me. Waitress was forgettable. Second time, however, we had the BEST server named Kip and he just blew us all away. We still talk about him.

Mama Melrose (fantasmic dinner package) - We love it. Food was delicious to us and our waiter, Brahim, was fantastic - even giving DH and I champagne for our anniversary. We'll be repeating this year.

Hollywood and Vine (breakfast) - a MUST for us. It's loud and playful and great to wake those sleepy kids up. Never experienced cold food or filth like being reported in this thread. Maybe because of the time of day we eat?

Tokyo Dining (dinner) - UGH. Won't do this one again. Seated well past an hour after our ADR and took just as long for our food once we ordered. They overbook worse than any restaurant we've experience. Food was ok, though.

I thought of this board and some of the people with phantom food and wait staff with no clue tonight when my husband went to pick uo five guys burgers. He got home and in a edition to all of them having the wrong toppings one had NO burger! Maybe one of those ditzy waiters from WDWrelocated....haha

I am not a fan of Grand Floridian Café, especially for dinner. It is very overbooked, loud and chaotic. Expect a LONG wait for your table even though you have a reservation. Food took ages to come out. Kids' menu food was pretty lame. However, the rest of my family loves it, so I'm sure we will eat there again.
