Thinking about upgrading to WL conceirge. Not sure about the codes and which code is the concierge. How much extra is it per day. I know they have breakfast and snacks out. Is the food out all day? Is there a set schedule for the times when it is out. How late does it stay out?

Thanks so much!

The difference in rack rate is between $110 and $170 dollars more per night. Food is out only during specific times. For example, 7:00am - 10:30am (continental breakfast), 11am-4pm (snacks), 5pm-7pm (evening appetizers), 8pm-10pm (dessert assortment). From 7am - 10pm, they do have soda, iced tea, lemonade, coffee, hot tea and cocoa to drink.

For a great description of concierge and the food items served during one person's visit go to this page and check out post #2994 by LisaRN

This is the WL FAQ thread that Alicnwondrln mentioned. It's a GREAT thread to frequent for current info on the WL. I'll be staying Club Level Concierge for my trip in February. It'll be my first time staying concierge and my second time at the WL.

Thanks for the nice links and information. I really appreciate how helpful everyone is on these boards.
Lisa :)

All I can say this sure not worth the extra dollars for a solo person. Don't even think it would be worth it for 2 people depending on the food choices. With the time frame for meals it could really put a damper on your activity IMHO

1) If you justify it for cost savings (eg. food), then it does not pay.
2) If you justify it for extra services, then it does not pay.
3) If you justify it for bragging rights, then it justifies.
4) Concierge at WDW is more of an ego thing than cost savings thing.

NOTE: Having stayed on Concierge Floors for business on four continents, I can tell you that Concierge usually does not cost-justify. For business, it is better because you can have private rooms for meetings/conversations and they can make special arrangements for you (but concierge in the lobbies of better hotels can do the same thing). With that being said, concierge level at the Orlando Ritz-Carlton is a cost savings - for the price of a WDW concierge room, you also get a FREE Mercedes Benz to use during your entire stay.

You've made this statement a few times now and I just don't get it :confused3 . Have you dealt with that many unreasonable and stuck up guests staying on the concierge level? That is just sad :sad2: if someone has to try and throw their weight around, just because they have a few extra dollars to spend.

I feel the same way.. my family loves the WL concierge level because we love how it makes you want to take the time to relax..we love that there is less traffic up there and we can fully enjoy the lodge while sitting on the sofas with a cup of tea, in a little more serenity. The CM's up there are wonderful..and it's nice to be able to be more personable with them..and really get to know them during your stay. I don't think I have a big ego..heck..I'm a "down in the trenches" nurse, there's not a lot of room for ego when you are in this profession. Most of the people I have spoken with that stay and love the CL level..are some of the nicest people I've met on internet boards :)

We've justified it a couple of times:

a) With little children who go to bed at 7pm, we'd have a big lunch and just some appetizers for dinner (there were plenty at the AKL Concierge). The kids had chicken nuggets and PBJ sandwiches in front of Disney cartoons and made some friends. It was time for them to wind down and a long dinner was not on the agenda. We could get them in bed early for a another big day tomorrow.

b) In a large gathering (3 rooms, 4 people in each room), it was great for a breakfast meeting place and pre-dinner meeting place. As organizers, we set a departure time of 8:00 am for example from the lounge. Some people ate a bunch, some just had coffee, but we could get everyone to leave on time (to be at the gates before they opened!)

1) I never said concierge was bad,
2) I never said anything bad about people who do concierge.
3) I have done concierge on four different continents for business.
4) I just said justifying it cannot be done as a monetary payback. *
5) Without money as a payback, not many reasons remain.
6) Every other reeason can easily be accomodated in other ways.
7) It is a matter of personal preference.
8) Just not a case of monetary justification.

* Except maybe at the Orlando Ritz-Carlton, where you get a FREE Mercedes Benz for your use while staying Concierge.

Rusty, I know you didn't say it was bad, I was just asking about the "ego" comment. Guessing by your posts, you are a CM and I thought maybe you'd had some negative experiences with guests on that level.

I agree that Disney's definition of concierge is very different than what you'll find elsewhere. We've done Loews, Four Seasons and even the Disney cruise line is not comparable to the resorts. At those places, it is absolutely about the service and amenities and not necessarily the snacks in the lounge.
