Fans - It's getting pretty muggy here in the mornings and I am super hot and sweaty when I get home from my walks. So, having fans everywhere is truly a blessing!
Furniture - DH and I were recently talking about being young 20s and just starting out on our own. One of the things we noted was our lack of furniture...or at least full sets and having to improvise. I remember his living room had a sofa but no tables and we often used a cooler as a coffee table and boxes/crates for other tables. I had no dressers and had clothes in all kinds of crates. I also recall when I finally bought a real bed and moved away from my futon. DD19 is about to move into a house where she needs to provide her furnishings, so she's about to get a taste of this life. Granted, there's a lot more cheap stuff out there today to help get by but it still is an eye opener in this early stage of adulthood.
Freezer - We have one of those big deep freeze chest freezers. We use it for all kinds of things, but yesterday, we took out the turkey for this weekend. It's been sitting in there since November. It's nice to have a large frozen storage area so I can stock up on cheap meat for use later in the year.
