Hi, everyone! I am psyched to have a good training session to report. I had mentioned that my PR for a 5K is 43:33 and my goal is to beat that on the same course on 3/17. I am training to run longer segments over that distance.
Tonight I did the TM. I did 5 minutes warmup at 4.0 mph (.33 miles) then restarted.
I mostly did jog 1.5 minutes at 5.0 and walk 3.5 minutes at 4.0-4.2. I was able to maintain the intervals the whole time and even jogged for longer periods a couple of times (when inspiring music was on). I did 3.14 miles in 42:25 (pace 13:31) and more than a minute faster than my 5K PR. Now, to work up to being able to maintain those intervals and speeds consistently and maybe to lengthen the jogging intervals.
And no, Kristi, while I appreciate your faith in me, I have no desire to do the Goofy next year. As far as I'm concerned, I haven't mastered the full yet. It is something I want to do much more easily before I aspire to anything greater. As it is, my goal had been to run the entire 1/2 next year, but I am deferring that objective in the interests of the 15th year Mickey medal.
I agree with Dena, too, about everyone taking it easy and being realistic about what you are undertaking. Please respect the miles and build a solid base for going 26.2 miles.

I can always do the 5K!

It's a snowy day here in Rochester.

As I'm doing the 1/2 (my 3rd in a year) I was thinking "why am I doing this, next time I'm just going to come to WDW for vacation, why am I doing this, I just want to sit down, why am I doing this?!?!?! (I'm have this runnig dialogue in my head) and then the next day I take my mom to the end of the full to chear on our teammates & this makes her start thinking about doing the full. Well, I was still too hot & too sore to consider it. However, now I'm better and those ghostly thoughts of the Mickey medal are looming in the back of my head. It doesnt help matters that all of you are already talking about signing up. Man I would love that Mickey medal. Then I see Pat may do it & start thinking, I could walk with Pat, I could do her pace (maybe?) And Jen's thinking about it, and Anne and Cam and Mel. What to do, what to do?
What a great kid!
! I hate that almost as much as the TM. Then did 100 or so sit ups on that ball thingy
I used to use the chin-assists machine and got to where I was only countering 40lbs of my weight. It was my goal to do ONE real chinup before I die... But I am back to the gym and starting out very slowly and carefully again. I also have a home gym, nowhere near as impressive as yours. I have a 65lb punching bag and a standing kick bag, bench and free weights; but everything is squished to the side to accommodate DS's new air hockey table

(where'd the blushing smiley go?)
Maybe I'm just lucky. I may try to see if our Target carries the LG ones, though, just for kicks. And I'm in the market for a cute running skirt, but I'll pass on the zebra print.
My Mom has scars on her back from her bra rubbing during the half last year.
When do you go see the other doctor (I forget what kind of dr it is)?
And pick up some body glide if needed
