Hello all!!
Karla--
Heather--
for a quick recovery for Kevin
ohMom-- If you're having trouble with getting into the groove when you start, try warming up a little longer before starting. It's a fine balance between enough and too much, I know. (And I'm the veteran of several runs and even a race after one/several too many and it does effect me. Mostly in terms of hydration... so that could factor it too)
Carrie-- Glad to hear the job is going well!!
Dona-- Congrats to you on DD's first day of college!!
Judy-- Glad to hear you'll be able to get back out and run now! Have fun on your weekend away!
Kim-- Congrats on 20 years!! Happy anniversary!!
Ohhh, I like that top. Not sure what I think about the pants...
Oh my. U-G-L-Y, they don't have an alibi. Hurts like a hangover. Seriously, if you ran up to me in those things, I'd pretend not to know you....
CDCers-- Congrats on doing so well with the race in those conditions!! I'm so sorry to hear about the issues with the course and logisitics. I would think that a race run by JBR would be MOST racer friendly, but apparently there were some significant issues.

It's good to hear that they are looking into improving the race for next year, but I think I'm going to reserve running that one for a couple years until I hear that things have improved.
As for me, well.... I'm in another LTO period. It's been a very frustrating couple of weeks around these parts for me, sadly. I'm finding myself doing a lot of reevaluating of stuff lately and that'll do nothing but get you down.

My training has been pretty awful too. I'm scheduled for an LR this weekend, so we will see how that goes. I'm still up in the air with respect to the Toronto marathon. I thought I was going to back out, but since I'm going to be making the trip anyway... then why not train double time and be ready?? I suppose it's another "run to Jesus" moment this weekend too...
I can't believe we are SO CLOSE (less than two weeks) from the 20 weeks mark and "official" training for most of the full runners. Summer went by too fast, for sure.
Happy training all!
Kevin
