Will a 24 pack of bottled water make it onboard

OK, here's a picture of the luggage baskets waiting to go onboard:

And here's the picture of one of the onboard luggage rooms where the bags wait to be delivered to the staterooms:

We cruised last November and we had 2 staterooms, we tagged 2 cases of H20 one for each stateroom, got to us just fine! no questions asked! There is NO way I'm paying $35 for 15 bottles of Evian! And yes there is h2o fountains and other options its just nice late at night to have a bottle of water

Those bags have character tags and not the luggage tags they send before the cruise, which means this was taken at the end of the cruise not the beginning. At the end of the cruise they tell you to put your liquids in your bags if you are flying home. Is it just me or is the system flawed?

That well may be, but it's not the way DCL wants us to play the game. I, personally, don't think it's worth the risk of whatever damages I may do to others belongings if my beverages break and leak on their stuff, as well as the possibility that DCL could take away the privilege if it's abused.

As I noted, the water from the taps is processed the same way bottled water is, there's no difference.

I was delivered a wet suitcase once--tried to figure it out as it wasn't raining. DUH. Fortunately, nothing was damaged inside. I personally know someone who was not so lucky. Their luggage was damaged by someone's wine.

If enough people keep violating DCL's policy on this issue, they will start removing liquid beverages from luggage in the same way they now do irons, firearms, etc. If we all "play nice," we'll be able to keep carrying on our beverages.

I had a bottle of water with me when I boarded the ship this time and got in the habit of refilling it at the drink station (water seemed colder than out of the tap) and had it in the stateroom late at night. A reusable bottle can be packed much easier than a case of water.

Here's what I did - We stayed at the Hyatt Airport the night before and took Disney transfers in the morning. I stuck one of my luggage tags right across the top of a case of water. If it wasn't allowed, then I figured they wouldn't deliver it. But it was picked up from my Hyatt room, and it was the first item brought to my stateroom. It was in perfect condition, not even a dent on any bottle or torn plastic wrap.

As I said, those people who are not DCL employees are not going to say "No, we can't take it". They don't want to put any possible tips in jeopardy. DCL requests that all beverages be brought onboard in your carryon bags.

Them's the rules, folks.

Thanks everyone for all your responses :thumbsup2 ... had a fun day @ the Magic Kingdom ... FastPass Plus was great ... had prime viewing area for MSEP ... AoA is absolutely gorgeous (AND BUSY) ... PO Riverside Royal Guest Room is beautiful!

In re: to the H20, we usually like to take bottles with us for shore excursions etc ... we too have been witness as to how the luggage is loaded up for transport aboard the ships so was curious as to bringing in a case or two as we will be on the Fantasy for two weeks. We'll just bring in some bottles when we hit a port or two ...

Out of curiosity, did you put the cases of water in any sort of bag, or did you just tag the cases?

They don't want you to check a case of water because in many instances, checked luggage is not handled carefully. That is why you need to carry the case onboard with you. No matter what the porters tell you.

DSIL had a wet suitcase delivered to him too a few years ago. Luckily, I talked my kids into packing ALL their stuff in huge ziploc bags, letting out the excess air and packing them into the suitcases. That way if someone elses luggage leaked, they wouldn't be affected. ;) Luggage was soaked but his clothes were not.
