Happy Wednesday!
To think about for today:
What's your favorite non-traditional vegetable (don't include potatoes, peas, green beans, corn, broccoli, carrots, spinach, lettuce)?
How do you like to prepare it?
What's your least favorite vegetable?
Brussel sprouts or asparagus like the majority it seems. We do asparagus more often because all three of us in the house like it. My daughter won't touch brussel sprouts but loves asparagus. I prepare them either steaming with garlic butter(real butter here) or olive oil(in the past but now I use pretty much either butter or coconut oil) baked is good too. Perhaps they are too common then???
I love all vegetables, haven't had one I didn't really like. The only one I don't care for but will eat is celery. Corn is another that I don't care for and its really a grain anyway.
Well technically both I guess but majority of the corn crops is used as grain feed for cattle so I personally count it as a grain. But occasionally I'll eat corn on the cob. Or if its mixed in a dish at family/friends I'll still eat it. And I eat it in other forms corn syrup obviously and corn tortillas sometimes.I forgot beets. Pickled beets probably beats the other two.

Just discovered this forum and this thread:
Name: Bob Iger(just kidding)
Male
Age: 41
Weight: A lot
Goal Weight: A lot less
I'm down 23 pounds since Halloween, using Weight Watchers. Very little exercise during that timeframe. So the eating plan is working for me, now I just need to factor in the activity as well.
My work/life schedule is CRAZY until the second week of February, so between now and then I'm just focusing on hitting 10,000 steps a day, and if I have time to do yoga, great.
My goal this year is to run my first 5K. There's one in April that I'd love to do, if my schedule allows.
I've developed a training plan for that, and will do yoga on the off-days. Really hoping the added exercise will accelerate(or at least keep steady) my weight loss.
Good luck this year, everyone!
Welcome. Keep up the great work. I lost with WW before. Maintained the loss a while until pregnancy and then life after. Just ran out of time and money to pay for weight loss help. Right now I use online MFP but I did so much better with meetings and that accountable weigh ins in front of someone else. You'll do great with your first 5K, walk/jogging was my go to activity when I did WW dropped 40 lbs in 22 weeks.
I like brussel sprouts and alfalfa sprouts. Brussel sprouts roasted in the oven and alfalfa sprouts in a wrap are my favourite way to have them.
I have tried probably ever vegetable out there and there is only on vegetable I absolutely don't ever want to eat again it was okra. I generally love any vegetable and open to eating them all different ways. I may have a few other favourites that are different but just can't think of them this morning.
Love my brussell sprouts too. I do like okra. In soups or pickled or fried. hehe My mom would make beef stew/soup and it had okra. I got so used to it. She gardened a lot and we were raised with lots of fresh veggies. Never forced to eat them but we all ate pretty balanced. Now at adult ages two of us still enjoy our veggies one is picker but eats quite a few.
Fav veggies? Brussel Sprouts, coated with olive oil and roasted. Or squash.
Non fav--definitely onions/celery/mushrooms. Yuck.
Yeah squash is good. YUMMY I haven't had any in so long. Trust me a dislike for healthy foods is not what got me so overweight. Its that love/like of the less healthy stuff and addiction to sugar I'm sure. Sneaky companies.

She just doesn't get how unfit/obese mom can beat her at dancing game but I have done enough aerobics that my coordination is fairly good even if I look extremely funny/ridiculous doing it.
