Why I Hate Starbucks...

"Venti Skinny Quad Shot Mint Mocha with whip"

"Skinny Grande Chai Latte with whip"

Wow! It's obvious that I'm nowhere near sophisticated enough to order in a Starbucks! :sad2: :rotfl2:

Chocoloate flavored teas (chai) are disgusting as is Lipton and Nestea. That is not "real" tea. ;)
Eww! Does Starbucks put chocolate in their chai tea? Is that the flavor that always seems "off" to me when I drink it?

Hmm, I have to agree that chocolate and tea don't seem to go together, but traditional chai tea, while sweet, is dee-lish! :cloud9:

:lmao: Come on, tell us how you really feel! Is there really coffee grounds in tiramisu? No wonder I don't like it!

OMG---YESSSSS......GROSSSS.

Especially when a friend of mind tried to take a stab at it....she didn't ground the grounds up enough----EWWWWWW!

I've only had it once wheer I liked it and I think it wasn't used at all....so the next time I had it and felt the texture I am like--WTH?????

I don't eat it anymore after that. I do see them at Publix-not sure if there is a layer of grounds..but they do a stencil on top with coffee grounds. I walk right by it and head for the carrot cake myself.

I have no idea.

I only had chai once at a spa treatment--they said it tasted like chocolate. Well I don't like hot chocolate (unless it is the melted gooey kind in choc chip cookies or other confections). And it tasted yucky. So no chai for me. I do not trust it any more.

No idea what starbucks does though.

No, there isn't any chocolate in Starbucks chai. I don't think it tastes anything like chocolate! It's just black spice tea and milk. It goes great with a shot of vanilla too!

Maybe I am thinking of another tea--there is a chocolately one somewhere.

Or maybe it was a chocolate Chai. I don't know.

I tried Starbucks a few times. The coffee tasted seriously burnt!! YUCK. I almost gagged. I was amazed that I spent so much on burnt coffee. I told my friend I'm gonna take this back and get them to try again. She talked me out of it. She said that's just the way their coffee is. :confused3 I thought she must have been joking. I tried it once again when I was out that way and it too was burnt tasting.

The first one I doctored up until it could no longer be called coffee. The second one I tossed. It was beyond repair. Needless to say, I won't be going back.

Another one who doesn't like coffee and I work nights. People at work are amazed that I don't instantly fall asleep. I also have an English SIL and sometimes she can't be understood either. One time in Pizza Hut she asked the waiter for a box for the left over pizza and he couldn't understand her. Her DD had to translate, told the waiter "She wants a box, she's English she can't help talking like that"

I don't know, either! :) My recipe is also just black tea, spices and milk, but you know, different people add so many different flavorings to different teas, I'm certain there are people out there that make and enjoy chocolate chai. That's probably what you got. Hmm, now I'm curious and I might have to try it sometime, even though it doesn't sound that appealing to me. :rotfl:

Ok non-coffee drinking ladies, I know your gonna agree....

the latest craze...chocolate covered coffee beans.... :faint: I was given one and was assured it "taste delicious." I was like a baby trying to spit it out..it was nasty.

I remember in elementary school--my mother taught me the british accent very early on (at least a good rendition--certainly not authentic). My grandmother is British--so my mom can do one and I do pull a decent one--American's think it is a good one--but Brits can tell instantly of course.

so--when I learned this fancy speak--of course I'm telling kids that I know how to speak English. And their like "what?" And all proud--I can speak English English--you know from England. and of course their thinkign ooh--what can she say. So they ask me to say something. So I say Yorkshire Pudding with a cockney (sp?) accent. and of course--they want to know what it means in English. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

If I had my wit's about me--I could have made up something really cool. :rotfl2:

And chocolate covered coffee beans???

:crazy2:

LOL, too funny.

I really enjoy coffee, black and strong (not bitter, but a strong coffee flavor....not flavored). We do grind our own every AM, Starbucks (purchased at Costco), French Roast, the boldest (strongest). If I go to a Starbucks, I order a small, black. Period, LOL. One thing I like about a Starbucks store is it smells like coffee, not a perfume store, like all the other coffee shops. If they add a flavor (I can't stand flavors), they add some sugar syrup, thereby not making the place stink like a perfume store when all the various flavors are being brewed, yuck. If I have to go in a convenience store; 7-11, White Hen, etc, I am almost nauseated by the stink.

I agree, $4.50 for a foo-foo coffee is a bit high, a buck and a half is about right for me.

I wonder what my dad would do :faint: if he ever set foot in a Starbucks - he recently quit drinking coffee at the mall (where he meets his friends every morning) because they went up to 54 CENTS for a bottomless cup.

I didn't drink coffee until about a year ago. My sister is a rep for Allegro - that's the Whole Foods store brand. I like that dark roast too - very strong. I bought a coffee maker that grinds the beans. I'm a real coffee snob now - not even Starbucks meets my standards. I want the beans ground and brewed right before I drink it.

LOL, arminnie. :teeth:

Oh, and I enjoy chewing on a few beans some mornings too while grinding the rest for the brewing. :woohoo:

Accckkk! :crazy2: :crazy2: :coffee: Thats gross Dan. ;) Starbucks--lets put it this way, if I am having "problems going to the bathroom" I just drink a cup of Star-p**p and I have NO problem going and going and going...... I do like thier Ice tea though.

I'm kinda like Dan with the coffee. I get black coffee when I go to 'Bucks, and I usually buy a pound of beans to grind and brew at home :) The straight black stuff run about 1.68 with tax.

:sad1: All my life people have made fun of me for not liking chocolate :sad1: I never expected my Dis family to do the same    (j/k)

I dunno what it is but I just don't like it. Well, that's not entirely true, I do like white chocolate. Just not the brown stuff. My mother insists that I loved chocolate as a kid. She's full of it. I only ate it when she made me.
