The I Love BWV (yes, Hallways and Clown Pool too!) Thread

Our booking window opened yesterday for trip planned next October. Unfortunately realised we’re 18 points short for the two bed we really wanted so booked two studios instead. Didn’t want to gamble on otup or have to split stay. Still very excited to be taking my wife’s sister and kids.
Are you able to buy OTUP? I would do that or maybe look into a transfer.

Ignore me I missed OTUP and I thought I was reading about Aul not BW. Yes BW you have to book or it wont be there after you wait for MS to open and buy OTUP.
Yeah I could book 9 nights but need the 10th eventually and doubt that’s an option with BWV at 7. Had considered a transfer but don’t know where to start with that.

2BR P/G (Preferred) view in October might be possible at 7 months, but like you I wouldn’t chance it and would book the two studios. You can watch availability as you get closer to the 7 month mark, but if a 2BR showed as available you’d have to wait to call MS at 9 AM Eastern to have them cancel the studios, sell you the OTUP, and book the 2BR. But you never know, it might work out!

In the meantime, I’d email, chat, or call MS and have them put a Traveling With notation on both reservations, to improve chances of being close together. And I wouldn’t make any other requests.

Has anyone got any recommendations for garden/pool room requests? Ideally not ground floor but not too fussy on other criteria. We’ve got 2 studios for 11 nights next October.

Just back from a weekend stay at BWV for the Swan/Dolphin food/wine event. Arrived around 3:30PM Friday, and were assigned room 2070 at the front desk. Our reservation was for a resort view studio, but we looked directly out at Leaping Horse Libations and the pool. We could also see the Swan and Dolphin in the distance. I thought all the resort view studios faced a parking lot; this definitely seems like a pool view room to me. Maybe all the resort studios were occupied or out of service? I suppose it also could have been pixie dust, but I don’t consider it that was because I really find pool view rooms to be too noisy. This one was ok for a quick weekend trip, but on a longer trip where we sometimes nap in the afternoon that would have been more difficult.

Yes, that sounds like P/G (Preferred) view to me. Theoretically, it was an upgrade from Resort view, but having had a similar view in the past, I wouldn’t enjoy it. Afternoon pool activities robbed me of my naps!

Disney's BoardWalk Inn to Undergo Refurbishment Through 2026

Disney's BoardWalk Inn will enter a new phase of refurbishment beginning in late November 2025, with work continuing through 2026.

Disney shared that the project will affect select areas of the resort, though the company has not specified which spaces are included or the scope of what will be updated.

You may see or hear work during daytime hours once the project begins. Disney notes that most amenities at Disney's BoardWalk Inn will stay available during the refurbishment period, including dining, recreation, and merchandise locations. At this stage, there's no timeline for when specific areas will close or what changes are planned.

Refurbishments at Disney's BoardWalk Inn have been ongoing in recent years as Disney updates guest rooms, public spaces, and dining offerings across its resort portfolio. This upcoming work appears to be the next step, but details remain limited.

How do we feel about this?

My wife said there have been some grumblings about the loss of funnel cake…

My youngest is stoked about the cheddar popcorn….

New Snack Location on Disney’s BoardWalk

A new snack kiosk has opened on Disney’s BoardWalk. The location serves some prepackaged popcorn, including an exclusive flavor to the BoardWalk.

The new kiosk is located on Walt Disney World’s BoardWalk near Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. Disney’s BoardWalk is a quarter-mile promenade of dining, shops, and nightlife.

The menu offers several prepackaged popcorn options, as well as fan-favorite Mickey Pretzels, Premium Ice Cream Bars, and Premium Ice Cream Sandwiches. A selection of beers, seltzers, and cocktails are available, as well.

  • Saltwater Taffy Popcorn (exclusive to BoardWalk Inn) – $7.49
  • Classic Kettle Corn – $6.99
  • Cheddar Popcorn – $6.99

We wanted to this to be unique and flavorful, but it doesn’t really taste like saltwater taffy at all. There is some faint banana flavor in some of the kernels and maybe even some cotton candy, though it’s hard to say. Overall, it’s more like a sweeter version of kettle basic kettle corn.

There are also two other flavors of the Popcorn Junkie brand available: Classic Kettle Popcorn and Cheesy Cheddar Popcorn. Both are also in prepackaged bags.

In other BoardWalk news, Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs announced the return of their Fried King’s Hawaiian Rolls not long after it was replaced with a Salmon Dog.

It’s nice they added it, but wish there was actual food options. And prepackaged popcorn?? Sigh. Hoping the upcoming refurb will bring restaurants/quick service to the empty spaces on the boardwalk! I guess we shall see!
