Why are the air fare dropping?

I'm still not seeing the price dropping. What airlines are dropping their fare? Why are they dropping? Another terrorist threat? I need a flight from DTW (Detroit) to MCO from April 9 and returning April 12.

Keep checking around, like on Travelocity or on the specific airlines' sites.
Why? Prossibly because they want people to fly.
Keep checking for your flight.
A lot of airlines need a two week advance purchase for you to make out well, and I think you are really close, better get checking.

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but I think it is because it is Easter Weekend that you want to go. I would keep checking, but my ole faithful Southwest appears to be sold out, but they may add flights so maybe you could install sidestep if you don't have it and it looks for cheaper fares on multiple airlines.

Our old faithful SWA never adds flights. Sidestep is not all the reliable (except for loading excessive pop up programs in your computer) for SWA. They don't share their schedules, so, you are relying on someone to input them by hand at sidestep and other online searches.

I think it highly unlikely you will see any major drop for the upcoming holiday weekend at this late date. Could you priceline it?

I'd buy those flights fast. Once you break under that 2 week window-- ouch!! I made that mistake on NYC tickets awhile back. I watched those tickets for almost 2 months. They never went above $45 each way. I go to buy them at 11 days out-- the same tickets were now $205!!!!! By this time I had pricelined the hotel, ect-- so I was stuck paying that much more!!!!

Same thing on my last trip to Orlando a few weeks ago. I paid $79 each way. Bought it awhile out. MIL who bought closer to the trip paid $99 each way. I checked out flights a few days before we left the same flights/seats were now $349 EACH WAY!! Unlike rental cars, airfare doesn't seem to come down in the 11th hour!!

Thank you guys. I will keep checking different sites and hopefully I will bump into some good rate. It is cutting it close isn't it?

Hi,

I am looking at mid May flight times, and I'm seeing no drops at all.

But, of course, this out of Mpls on Norwest which explains it, LOL.

herc.
