Who will be watching Emily Maynard the Bachelorette? No Spoilers PLEASE

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

However, purposely splashing her kid on national TV is NOT the way to do that. :sad2: Even Brad & Angelina, for the most part keep their kids off camera. The paparazzi catch them all walking together, etc., while living real life. That is different from setting up a shot on a hill where Emily is playing with her daughter. I DO notice that we never see a shot dead on of her daughter's face. Only side shots.

I'm sort of torn on this one. On one hand, I really do get what you're saying. The exposure could end up becoming a negative factor in the kid's life, for sure. But on the other hand, if everyone felt this way, we would have no child actors! :rotfl:

I am team Emily. I liked her in Brad's season and I like her even more now. She seems genuine and she really seems to want to weed out the guys that aren't going to be a good fit as quickly as possible. I respect that. Why waste time playing games?

Did it bug anyone else that ponytail guy was also wearing a headband last night? He looked so girly!

Charlie cried in the van back from the sailing. He wasn't drunk. They simply lost the GAME.

Yeah, that was pretty lame. I've got no excuse for him.

He reminded me of the little boys DD used to play soccer with who would cry every time their team lost. They were so immature, they were unable to be good sports and realize it was JUST A GAME.

To be fair, those were 8 year olds, and Charlie is what, 30? Just pathetic... :sad2:

I like Jef but him and Emily are worlds apart.

Any clue what Emily does for a living other than Bachelor stuff?

I had posted earlier about Emily.
I really DO like her, for the most part.

But, yes, she does have a couple of real issues.
And the 'PRINCESS' thing is def. one of them.
Just NO denying it.

The post above about what kind of work has she really done - coupled with her lifestyle, and the way she has carried herself on this show....

Very, very, very, obvious.

I read this in US magazine the other day:

http://www.hollywoodlife.com/2012/05/30/emily-maynard-family-feud-late-fiance-parents/

Not sure how valid it is, but it would not surprise me. I know I'm the minority (not unusual for the DIS!) but I see her looking for her next 15 minutes.

I don't for one minute deny she's capable of weeding out the jerks. This girl is no fool. There isn't the naivety of an Ashley or a Jillian here - she knows what she wants and won't settle for less. Which is why I see her with the European race car driver.

ETA: Her former MIL (or late boyfriend's Mother) and she look a lot of like! Wow, uncanny. Some of the comments on that link say Emily posted a recent picture with her inlaws so maybe it's just rumor. I still thik this girl is in the market for fame and fortune. Not necessarily a bad thing, I just don't buy the fact she only wants a Daddy for Rikki.

Isn't Charlie the one who had the brain injury? Maybe he just still isn't right. He said on the Muppets show thing they did that he couldn't recite lines, and seemed a bit off throughout the show. I thought he was really cute, too bad he turned out to not be aggressive enough to get noticed. I thought pony tail guy was cute too! I would have thrown out Allesandro and Ryan before I threw out those 2.

Apparently that article is bogus. Emily just tweeted a couple of days ago a sweet picture of Ricki, herself and Ricki's grandparents:

If they weren't speaking, why would she tweet a photo of them with the caption "love"? It looked like a ballet recital picture.

Anyone else read this on radaronline about Emily being a gold digger?

http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2012/06/emily-maynard-bachelorette-gold-digging-diva-claims

It looks like Emily Maynard may soon be exposed as the gold digging diva some believe she really is, RadarOnline.com is reporting.

The North Carolina native has won people over for now, but that could soon change. Sources close to Maynard say "she is a nice girl, but she isn't as good as she is made out to be."

The 26-year-old stole the hearts of America when she appeared on The Bachelor and told the wrenching tale of how her race car driver fiancé Ricky Hendrick died in a plane crash. She then found out days later she was pregnant-- she was just 18. She was so genuine and irresistible on the show that the Bachelor himself, Brad Womack gave her the final rose and they got engaged. However, the two ended their relationship last year and she was then asked to be The Bachelorette.

That's when the trouble began insiders say.

"She got difficult," a show source tells Us Weekly. "She knew she was the star, so she became a bit of a diva."

The source claims Maynard demanded an outrageous amount of money and it didn't go over well. "Emily told [producers] she wanted $750,000 and they said no way but she settled for something higher than $100,000, probably around $150,000," the source said, pointing out that Jillian Harris and Ashley Hebert were only paid $50,000 and $30,000.

Her attitude has now caused a rift with Hendrick's family who didn't want her to be on the show and they are "livid" she is now The Bachelorette.

A source close to the family says, "When Emily went on The Bachelor they weren't pleased, but they supported her. Now they're not speaking. They don't want their grandchild in the spotlight. They are private people."

So in an effort to smooth things over, Emily demanded the production be moved from LA to North Carolina so her daughter wouldn't be uprooted.

"Producers gave her everything she wanted in terms of accommodations," the source says.

And, while Emily is looking for love on the show, she also wants to fall for with someone who has money, the source claims. When Hendrick died, his reported worth was $15 million and since then, she has continued to date men with big bank accounts. The single mom has been linked to country singers Jake Owen and Jerrod Niemann. She also dated another race car driver -- Dale Earnhardt Jr.

"Emily is a bit of a social climber. She has dated some heavy hitters and she started to get a bad reputation around town. She's well-liked now, but it did take away," the source says.

"Money is important to Emily," someone close to the show explains. "It played a big role in how she viewed guys on The Bachelorette."

According to insiders, that's not the only thing she's seeking. There are claims the blond beauty got breast implants, veeners and most likely a nose job in 2010 before going on The Bachelor because she wanted to look her best for TV.

The source says when she was younger she was incredibly insecure because she developed Bell's Palsy and the nerve disorder caused, "the right side of her face [to be] paralyzed for a few months. She was tormented in school."

While the men on the show have commented on her beauty, not everyone agrees. A friend of Womack's met Emily when the two reality stars were still engaged and said, "her expressions seem kind of frozen. It looks like Botox."

...all kidding aside, there is a VAST difference between 'paparazzi exposure' and things of that nature and child actors. A child actor is persuing a career in acting - a huge dissimilarity....JMHO

Good point... when you put it that way!

Meh, I still like her. And I always take the "source" information with a grain of salt. It's very easy to say "this source said blah blah blah". As far as the show source goes, well I'd think there would be disclosure agreements preventing them from speaking about the show and current bachelorette. I have a hard time believing that this supposed show source would risk their job so they could be named "show source" in a radaronline article.

Emily seems genuine to me, she reminds me of Trista. I think she's there to really find a husband. She's saying she wants a car load of babies for pete's sake, that's not something a fame digger says is it? And I don't think she's using little Ricki either, the shots we see of her are usually profile or from behind. In one of the scenes from this past episode, she asked if Ricki wanted to come in and instead Ricki skipped away down the hall. If Emily were using her, then I'd imagine we'd be seeing alot more of Ricki.

Again, I don't believe the story about her being at odds with the Hendrick family either. I posted earlier a picture of Emily, Ricki and the Hendricks with a caption that said "love". If they're not on speaking terms, why would they be taking pictures and looking happy together?

I think anyone who goes on a reality TV show looking for "love", not once but twice, has a certain amount of attention-seeking behavior. Not that it's necesssarily a bad thing, many people do it to break into the business. I'm just not buying her needing to go on a reality show two times in order to find a Dad for Rikki. Not saying she is a bad person, don't know her, but I can believe just about anything I read regarding this show or the people on it. It isn't stellar for turning out great relationships or people really looking for love.

And I'm so glad I finally figured out what bugs me about her look - the veneers and the botox! That combined with her bobble head on that little tiny body just takes away from her attractiveness. She looks different from when she was on Brad's season, now I see why.

I think she's adorable. If I was going on TV I'd work at looking my best, too.

As for being a gold digger... I think wanting a man for money is no different than a man who wants a drop dead beautiful woman. It's their "condition" (right Imzadi??) for a partner. I have more of an issue with women who waste their lives on loser after loser than the ones who know how to pick 'em. ;) 50% of marriages end in divorce, why not leave with 50% of his money? :rolleyes1

Can you tell I'm NOT a romantic??? :cool2:

I don't disagree with any of it, other than Emily being adorable. She looks fake to me. But I absolutely agree that people should make wise choices when it come to finding a mate...as my Mama always said, "It's just as easy to love a rich man as a poor man"! I just don't think she is like Ashley or Jillian or Trista, in it to find some nice boy next door to settle down with. She's got $$ signs in her eyes. I guess time will tell! :thumbsup2

You have never met my family. We have all sorts of pictures with us together and smiling like we all love each other. When we are all out in public we look like this happy picture perfect family. Fact is, a lot of us don't even speak to each other. The pictures and shows are something to make my mom happy and that is it.

I agree with both Violet and Robin above!!!

Truth be told, if I were looking for a man today, a certain level of financial considerations and security would def. be on my list.

But, I do continue to think that there is the 'Princess' aspect to Emily that she actually has not even acknowledged in herself. Or, maybe, she is currently coming to terms with that, after the whole Brad fiasco, and then doing the show again????

I am not basing this opinion on all the drama and stuff that is posted online and on all the tabloid sites. I am looking, ONLY, at what I see in Emily, herself... and that alone. It is just so obvious and undeniable. Almost glaring, to me.

She does not seem to have lifted a finger (except for application of a gel manicure) in her entire life. And, there is just absolutely NO denying the whole 'Princess' thing in the way she has presented and carried herself. I mean, really, where does one go for The Final Rose, when she starts out wearing that incredible dress on night one.

I do like a lot about her...
She has incredible natural physical beauty.
And, her social skills are unrivaled. I mean, 'polished' doesn't even describe.

But the whole, I am an entitled Princess thing is a real turn-off.
I actually think 'Princess' is a better term for her than outright 'Gold Digger'.

I am not sure that it is any better, though, in my book.

Wow. I'm fascinated at your ability to judge her ONLY on what you see in Emily herself on a TV show, with absolutely no regard to tabloids, etc. Where in the world did you get this incredible insight? And thank you for stating how undeniable, obvious and glaring it all is, because I would not have seen it had you not so confidently pointed it out.

I don't even get what the whole "Princess" thing that Emily actually has not even acknowledged in herself but is maybe coming to terms with...sounds like a job for Brad's therapist.

I had no idea that she never lifted a finger in her entire life. :confused3

I will not deny the Princess thing, since there is NO DENYING IT! :)

You seem quite fixated on the dress she wore on the first night. You DO realize that a lot of this is basically "scripted", no? That there is a staff of people behind the scenes, that they didn't just say "OK, show up on April 1" and she just picked her bestest dress out of her closet? Don't you think that maybe it was part of putting a show together, and that Emily wearing something spectacular when 25 guys show up to meet her with hopes of winning her heart (or the next The Bachelor role or Dancing with the Stars spot) is part of the show, and not some deep psychological Princess delusion consuming her? Or that they want everyone watching to say "Wow, look at that dress!"? :confused3 Because that's what seems undeniable, obvious and glaring to me about the dress. It's not like she was wearing a crown and a wand, or a white wedding gown and veil.

I don't see her as a princess, I just say a Southern Belle lady. Pretty typical, actually.. I have a niece just like her! :lmao: Sugar melts in her mouth and guys die at her feet..:lmao:...it's a girly aspect I never was!

Again, I find her adorable, but she's young enough to be my child. I guess if I was closer to her age I'd see her as a woman but I don't. To me she's as young as Ricki! I love the fact she's an involved Mom, she seems to be very close to her own mother and she has surrounded herself with experienced Moms, not some party chicks. She may be the biggest gold digger in the world but I believe every woman should know their worth. If she feels like she's worth it, why not? We shouldn't sell ourselves short.:cool2:
