I actually agree with Chris about Doug. But he went about it all wrong. By Doug lauging it off, shaking his head and such it made Chris feel even more threatened about his age.

I would say condescended to about his age, instead of threatened.

What's up with all the crying guys? Both Charlie and ponytail dude cried on their way out. Can you really feel that deeply for a person you've spent maybe 45 minutes with? Or maybe it's simply being rejected that brings on the waterworks? Probably. It seems you have two extremes...the sobbers or the she doesn't know what she's missing guys.

I like Sean the best...I wasn't so sure about him until tonight, now he's my favorite. I hope he isn't the F1 so he can come back as the next Bachelor. He's so cute! Seems like a real man too, rare for this show full of metrosexuals and crybabies.

I agree that Ryan's neck is too thick and wide. It's distracting! His neck is the same width as his great big jaw. Add that to his horrific personality, and I'm not a fan. Nope.

And dear Nate... don't choose the pink shirt when you're on a date with a chick and another dude. Then you're going to cry? Oh, buddy. Your fate was sealed.

I actually really like Emily the more I get to know her. I think she is honest and real, and I think it genuinely pains her to hurt the guys she sends home. There's a lot more to her than I previously thought.

Poor Charlie!! I didn't think he was right for Emily, but I really want good things for him.

Jef should *really* be Jeff. I think I'd like him more and maybe even forgive his early 90's boy band hair.

Ricki seems like such a sweet, gentle little girl, just like her mama. Any man would be blessed to have them.

That wouldn't make sense. Rick Hendrick, Sr. is worth a few billion dollars. Why would he suddenly leave his grand-daughter high & dry? I think I read a while back that Hendrick had cancer, which he beat and it's in remission. Maybe he's gone out of remission and the cancer is back? That his mortality has been brought home to Emily?

I think Rick's still in remission.

The yellow team actually worked really well together and had a good strategy.

I was glad they won. The red team was just so cocky at the beginning.

What the heck, is Jef wearing knee highs? Blue knee highs??

My mom and I were like "What in the world is he wearing?" Not a greet look IMO.

I definitely see Arie in the F3. Those two are just all over one another.

She's yelling about the "burden" comment, isn't she? Was it Kalon (sp??) who had said that?

I keep marveling about how much I like Emily more as the season progresses. Usually, it's the other way around...I begin to despise the recycled Bachor/ettes, but not so with Emily. She's very down to earth, sweet, and witty in an understated way.

Arie does nothing for me. I just find him unappealing for some reason. Also, it seems like this was a convoluted route to take to end up with another race car driver, KWIM?

Aestetics aside, I don't get a warm feeling from Emily. I know she tries to present herself as the warm Southern belle, I am not buying it. I predict she's looking for someone to come in with the sort of money Rickey's family has (the money they are no longer willing to keep sharing with her probably). I really highly doubt it's all about finding a Dad for Ricky, and more about finding someone to bankroll the lifestyle she's become accustomed to. Then again, I am a cynic when it comes to this show. But I'm not buying her sweet southern belle act. She also seems a little dull. I've yet to really hear anything compelling about her....

I am sitting here remembering the scene in the opening show, with little Ricki, and her designer, princess, bedroom.

And, every single dress that Emily has worn has been more over-the top.
I have seen much lesser dresses on REAL princesses and Miss America Pageant gowns... I mean, actual trains???? Really... Really?????

I did not find that long, and actually see-thru, gown, with a train, appropriate AT ALL for a first meeting coctail party.

She takes the term Debutant to a whole new level.

The real Emily shows thru.

No, not at all. They're a package deal; that's why it's filmed in her hometown, but they can't keep it all there. Emily's not with the men 24/7. Personally, I would never do what parents on the show have done...been away from my young child for 9 weeks.

I don't see Emily as a gold digger. Hey, maybe she is. I do think that there's the underlying idea that if she doesn't find a guy, she will find other opportunities, just like everyone else who does the show now. But I see her as the most real Bachelor(ette).

The clothes are part of the show. They've shown previous Bachelorettes shopping for the season beforehand; don't they even have stylists? And my recollection (as good as it is, in my old age) is that everyone wears pretty elaborate clothes. I don't think she's any different than the others in that respect. That "see through" dress was only see through in certain places, with skin tone fabric elsewhere, from what I could see.

Guess I'm not seeing the southern belle personality as being a bad thing, or over the top. She doesn't appear the slightest stuck up about any of it. They're two females living together, and her home reflects that. Certainly, there are one or more DISers with a Princess bedroom in their house.
