Who will be watching Emily Maynard the Bachelorette? No Spoilers PLEASE

No, not at all. They're a package deal; that's why it's filmed in her hometown, but they can't keep it all there. Emily's not with the men 24/7. Personally, I would never do what parents on the show have done...been away from my young child for 9 weeks...

....I understand that they are a 'package deal', but that doesn't mean there isn't a competent person that can be her temporary caregiver while mama is looking for a new man in her life. The show is called The Bachelorette, not The Family...to me, it seems that she went from keeping her daughter in hiding [to protect her identity] to practically flaunting her. By no means do I think that Emily is a bad mom, I just don't think it was in her best interest to have Ricky tag along. In reality, she [Emily] shouldn't even be on the show. With her notoriety, she can't find a man? :confused3

...Clique???? WHAT clique? popcorn::

I don't like her. When the other guys were talking about their kids she "seems" sincere on the surface but her body language to me says otherwise. She's worried about her and her kid above all. Which is why I don't think she will select someone who has a child.

Everyone has different opinions, none of us obviously know these people. I really liked Ashley and I know most of you did not. Ashely, while a little silly, seemed very real to me. Maybe it's the edit but I am so sick of seeing Saint Emily from week to week, as if she is the only single mother in America. And her personality seems very infomercial to me, like she is one of those hostesses on QVC. I will stick it out a few more weeks because I like looking at cute Sean but if she gets rid of him I may just bail. I mainly just watch just to dish with you guys and my dd, who dislikes Emily too. Then again, she was the one who initially liked Ben and we see how that turned out. :rolleyes1

Guess I'm not seeing the southern belle personality as being a bad thing

I don't mind the Southern thing either.
I am a Southern Girl! ;)
I actually enjoy seeing and identifying with some of the nuances.

What I am seeing goes way beyond that.

I am pretty confident in the opinions I just posted.

Ryan is over the top...wow....I like Chris and I think Doug is a sleeze underneath it all. I hope Chris calms down and she sends Doug home...
I do wonder who she yelled at and am surprised she dropped the f bomb!

Ryan has a very high opinion of himself. Looks like he just wants to be the next bachelor. He is looking more and more like a typical dumb jock.

Doug is beginning to annoy me. I didn't like his attitude when Chris pulled him aside to talk to him. The way he was smiling and almost laughing at him during their conversation, I HATE when people do that just to antagonize the person. He reminds me of Ryan Reynolds, especially some of the snotty characters he's played!

Finally, long-haired guy (Michael) gets interviewed! Unfortunately, it was an exit interview... :headache:

Arie reminds me of a cross between Jake Gyllenhaal and Scotty McCreery.

I watched the show late, sorry I missed this thread, sounded like fun.

I used to watch it while on FB but they have no filter for spoilers. Last year someone blew the ending VERY quickly.

I really LIKE Emily. She is sweet and smarter than I thought. She peeked Ryan No Neck for sure, but the producers need him for drama so he'll be around for awhile... and to think I used to LIKE him.

I guess I can relate to her being a single momma, it IS an entire different animal. I don't necessarily think single mommas should hook up with single dads, though... the Brady Bunch mixture isn't always a GOOD one. :rolleyes1 Being a single Mother is soooooo different than being a single Dad... but I could go on forEVER with that.

I loooove Bermuda! It's the only time I LIKE pastels!! It's probably the most beautiful island I've ever been to with the most beautiful people. I could live there but it's more expensive than NY and I RAN from their prices! :goodvibes

As for the guys:

Jef : "Dear" in headlights. Nice guy, too little puppy doggish. I think she feels sorry for him.

The two nerds on the date: She could've left them both in the ocean, neither one of them deserved a rose.

Chris: Nice guy, but dude, 25 IS YOUNG. Get over it.

Ari: Still don't care for him. His face is kind of goofy and I hate that dreamy look he gets in his eyes when he looks at her. She obviously LOVES it. :rolleyes1

Sean: Still a favorite. Like him a lot. He's a GUY. :)

Alejandro: Looks too young and nervous.

Doug: Now I LIKE him Like he said, he's a GUY and I like GUYS. Plus he's got major guns and since I lost my love affair with Ryan, he has to do.

Ponytail guy, Michael, used to wear his hair out:

Crying guys: I think they were told to cry. Sorry, not enough money in the world would make me tear up on natl television. It's like wearing a Kick Me sign....

:lmao:

I don't get Emily's attraction to Jef in the same way I didn't get Ali's attraction to Frank. Is there just other stuff going on that they aren't showing on air?? There just doesn't appear to be any chemistry there.

Sean seems like a good guy, but every time I look at him, all I see is Anthony Michael Hall. :confused3

I think the guys (and gals) endure loooong drawn-out cocktail parties where they are drinking a lot of alcohol. They have to go through hours of re-shoots and waiting around for the production team to finish filming. After getting booted, they must endure manipulative interview questions. It would make me cry!! I think most of them are just too drunk, tired, and emotionally jerked around to withstand the lure of just "letting it out".

I bet they all feel awful the morning after....

Arie has a funky lip-licking habit that just grossed me out. He'd do a preliminary kiss, lick his lips, then go for another kiss getting the tongue involved. All in close-up shots. Ewww.

Ewww, that's what I told DH last night - Arie's kissing grosses me the heck OUT! I literally put my hand over my eyes.

I like Jef, just seems like a great guy with a good head on his shoulders. Have you all taken a look at the company he founded? He provides clean drinking water to areas who need it...one place mentioned is Nicaragua.

I know someone mentioned he was too boyish looking for Emily - but so was Ricky Hendrick (Emily's ex). Perhaps Emily is attracted to that? One thing is certain, she starts acting like a silly schoolgirl around him. :upsidedow Anyways, for someone who's experienced more than her fair share of sorrow and life experiences - maybe she needs someone to bring some fun back into her life. Time for her to stop hanging out with the middle aged moms...

I think Rick's still in remission.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

She's yelling about the "burden" comment, isn't she? Was it Kalon (sp??) who had said that?

I'm thinking it's Kalon. They showed pretty much every other guy in the preview talking about it. This show doesn't have an editor as skilled as the one who edits clips for Celebrity Apprentice, who can really put together clips from different episodes in a way that is mis-leading as to what will happen.

I agree. Emily was already away from Rikki for several weeks the first time she filmed with Brad. I think one of her stipulations in doing the show is that Rikki (and her mom who probably takes care of her while shoe's off with the guys,) is that she not be separated from Rikki. She wants to show that she's a great mom.

However, purposely splashing her kid on national TV is NOT the way to do that. :sad2: Even Brad & Angelina, for the most part keep their kids off camera. The paparazzi catch them all walking together, etc., while living real life. That is different from setting up a shot on a hill where Emily is playing with her daughter. I DO notice that we never see a shot dead on of her daughter's face. Only side shots.

I don't get Emily's attraction to Jef in the same way I didn't get Ali's attraction to Frank. Is there just other stuff going on that they aren't showing on air?? There just doesn't appear to be any chemistry there.

I think Emily wants to like Jef. He's the sensitive, cool dude. But there really isn't any really attraction or chemistry. Also, as someone else said, be is basically a deer in headlights. He is so out of his league.

However, the producers maybe want Emily to keep him on the show. Maybe they really want to groom him to be an upcoming Bachelor. He'd be very different from all the others in the past. He'd pull in a much younger crowd. . . Ones who still wear knee socks with shorts. :rotfl2:

 He does look like him!

Charlie cried in the van back from the sailing. He wasn't drunk. They simply lost the GAME.

I DO think that when the producers asked Emily what kind of guy she wants, she did a 180 from Brad & said she wants soft, sensitive types. Guys not afraid to be emotional or to cry. She even mentioned how Arie has those soft sensitivities that Ricky had and she really likes that.

Unfortunately, like that cliche, "Be careful what you wish for," she may have thought she wanted a guy who cries, but when they do, she doesn't want them that emotional.

He really is. I almost expected him to say "na na na na boo boo" to the red team.

Is it just me or does have no neck? Maybe that's a result of his fitness obsession? A head that goes right into shoulders.:confused3

Ryan said he used to be a pro football player. I think they do exercises to strengthen and thicken the neck. :confused3

She wasn't even 18 when he died so boyish was common at that age.

I think she's a nurturer, she is always so careful with the "pitiful" ones... :rolleyes1

As for Ricki being with her in Bermuda, poor girl can't WIN can't she? If she left her she'd be vilified, taking her she's judged, too. :confused3 I don't think she'll ever be held to the standard that she's expected to be by being on this show but I think she's doing a great job. Ricki is genuinely her priority and her purpose is to give her the family she never had. If she doesn't find a husband she'll be that single Mom that the couples HATE to see coming... at least the WIFE will!! :lmao:
