Who is planning on being in Disneyland 7/17/2015?

I was there for the 50th and we left our hotel on Harbor at 5:00 am to walk over and was given a wrist band and held in DCA until they walked us over to DL. There were a sea of people at security !!!
But something to think about....DCA is suppose to have early morning hours that Friday, so I'm not sure if they will hold people in line like they did for the 50th.

Did anyone experience the security entrance at DTD on the 50th and have some info to share? And what about the GCH entrance (the short cut from the hotel into DTD)? What was that like?

I'm getting worried. I don't know if the rest of my party will be game to head to the park any earlier than 6. More likely 7. When did the 50th stop admitting guests? When did the last 24 hour party stop admitting guests?

I heard they did not stop admitting until noon on the 24 hour day. On the 50th, we did not arrive until 4:30 pm and got right in.

This looks fun! Thank you for sharing. :)

I just found out about it tonight -- and I was thinking, "How did I miss this? Did the Parks Blog do a piece about it that I somehow skipped over? Were there threads about this on the DIS that I missed?" I've been so focused on keeping an eagle eye on the Blog for any signs of Halloween Time news that I thought I may have inadvertently overlooked a piece about this... but I don't think they have done one yet, have they? In any case, it does look fun! It sounds like it's kind of similar to what they do with the Egg-stravaganza around Easter, except with Hidden Mickeys and a higher price tag for the guide!

I immediately thought of the Egg-stravaganza too! Wonder what the prize will be... ?!

I think that we would like to try this, I thought of the Egg-stravaganza too! LOL Our first day in the parks will be the 16th so we will probably get a DL guide on this day. And then hop over to DCA and get a guide there too. DD and I enjoy doing these type of scavenger hunts so looking forward to it - also will prep us for Easter time even though the Easter eggs looks easier to spot! Thanks for sharing this information.

I forgot to request this day off so I can't go on the 17th now :( But I'm off the 16th so I'll be there that day instead. Not the same thing...but better than no day

This years 24 hour party was a disaster and a mess so I wouldn't judge anything by what happened that day lol

Am I correct that Disney has not announced anything major for July 17? We will be there and unless I missed something I can't imagine lining up that early. We were there for the 50th, by accident we did not realize it until someone told us about it the week prior to our trip. I don't remember the crowds being all that bad. I will have to find pictures from the trip.

Customer relations said nothing till 16th....

Aren't the people who show up super early for special events usually ebay resellers who hoard all the limited edition merchandise?

Do you think that's why the merchandise is being released on the 16th the day before? I would like to think this was on purpose.

The scariest part of the video of the 50th is the line for merchandise so I would imagine that's why stuff is getting released the 16th. Someone on Micechat said they're giving out glow ears and if true - that's hardly a unique gift like the golden ears with the date on them in 2005.

Love my golden ears!!!

Is there a DIS Meet on the 17th? I don't see it on the first page, and thought I'd ask before searching the thread. :)
