Who is planning on being in Disneyland 7/17/2015?

We have reservations at Plaza Inn for Minnie's Breakfast at 9am on the 17th. Is it reasonable to assume we'll be able to enter the park like we normally do when we have this reservation - through the special Character Breakfast turnstile and avoid the regular entrance line? I'm hoping we'll be able to arrive at 8:30am and avoid lining up early.

I would assume yes. But I think at the 50th (from what I read) the turnstile lines weren't the issue. It was the lines at security.

We're hoping to not have to line up too early. Maybe an hour or less before 8am. We have lunch reservations at Carnation Cafe, so as long as we're in by then, we'll be good. :-) This will be our non-break day, as I don't want to get stuck not being able to get back in. It should be fun!

I will be there from the 15th to the18th with my 2 best friends! I was so excited to see Disney's request for people to dress up as if it was 1955! I cranked out a 50s dress in pink, red, and white peonies, found a vintage pink hat on Etsy that should be here tomorrow and found pale pink gloves on Amazon. I too am surprised that Disney didn't say anything earlier about a "Dapper Day" but I am so happy that it has been summer vacation and I have had time to sew up a dress. If you see a brunette in a pink/red/white dress, pink hat and gloves, and pink sandals (I am not crazy enough to wear heels for that long of a day :rotfl2:), come and say hi!

I am now worried that I will be rejected at the gate for not being dressed up! LOL! Please tell me more of you are not dressing up! It will be fun to see the ones that do!

I have been worried about this also. We have an 8:30 reservation at Carnation Cafe. I did get a voice mail response to my email asking if maybe we should reschedule for lunch/dinner and the cast member said if the line is too long to approach a CM and they would help us. But, the security line is my worry now.

Myself and my two best friends are staying at the GCH from the 16th-18th. We were there on the 50th and it was truly a magical day. We also will no be dressing up.

I am very curious as to what the crowds will be like, especially with almost nothing special announced at this point.

Just watched the hour-long YouTube video posted in this thread showing the early lineups to get in July 17th on the 50th, 10 years ago. Wondering if anyone remembers anything 10 years ago like the 24 hour event the park had in May of this year? Anybody think having the 24 hour day this time would make it less likely for those attendees to return on the 17th to celebrate once again? Really anxious to see what the day is going to look like.

At this point, it is all guesswork. Since they have not announced much of anything it's hard to.gauge interest.

We will be there 16th-20th on the VGC side. Also, not dressing up. We took a vote (8 of us) and decided the added luggage plus most of our costumes were wool, heavy cotton, and leather jackets...so, way too heavy to wear all day in Anaheim on a hot summer day.

Ditto on the no-break day as we don't want to get stuck on the outside of the park in the afternoon with no indication on when we can get back in. We also have a noon ressi at the Carnation Cafe (great minds thinking a like 8-)). We will probably take that time to plan out the afternoon (assuming that we will actually know what special things will be happening that afternoon).

I was there for the 50th, I wouldn't call it a 24 hour event, it was up all night waiting in line....it's my best friends birthday, too, so we wouldn't have missed it! She passed away almost 2 years ago, I will be there, completing our last trip, it will be fun, but sad also!

I agree! I was THERE for the 50th and We lined up at 3:00am. They lined us up inside DCA and gave us wristbands. Once 6:00am came they escorted us in a line throught the blocked esplanade (WHICH WAS FULL at that point from the gate all the way to DCA) I mean MAX amount of people. Once we were in they "welcomed" us home and we proceeded to go to the Hub to watch the celebration event. NOT to be discouraging but it may be VERY difficult getting in for your 9:00 Reservations if you don't line up early. Their isn't a kiosk just for people with reservations. I am dressing up 50s is a Audrey Hepburn type dress, and thrilled Disneyland has offered this to us. I FULLY intend on lining up again at 3:00. PLEASE don't underestimate the crowds that will be flocking to the park this day. Just be cautious and go with the flow. IT WILL BE PACKED!

Thank you! What time did you end up entering the turnstiles? 8am? And then the others who were lined up in the Esplanade were admitted after your escorted line? Did the celebration event start at 11am or? This may have been mentioned already but did the park close due to capacity that day? I seem to recall other posters stating they attended on the 50th but didn't arrive until later.

You are more than welcome.... The people who showed up EXTRA early where lined up inside of DCA and were able to begin lining up at midnight. Once Disney escorted us ( A LONG LINE of us lined up already inside DCA) out of DCA they had a section blocked off like a isle with fencing, in the esplanade that went from one side of DCA to the entrance to DL. We Were then able to go inside DL at about 6:30am. It was really early I know. As we were being escorted through the ISLE in the esplanade, I remember looking out at the crowd and thinking OH MY GOSH! Those people are not even going to get in. there was already a long line in DCA. I know we ended up in the HUB but the entire Main Street all the way to the RxR station was PACKED with people.
watch this youtube video.... It will help SEE the crowds.

The guests inside the esplanade were admitted After the guest lined up already in DCA with wristbands. The celebration started at 10am I believe and we DID NOT leave but I heard it reached capacity that day...

I was hoping to join my Club 33 member-friend at the Club on the 17th for the special Disneyland 60th Diamond Celebration Silverado Winery Dinner featuring Ron Miller and several of Walt's grandchildren presenting stories about the early days of Disneyland and family life with Walt, but it was not to be. :(

So instead of being in the faux New Orleans on the 17th...I've decided to spend it at my favorite city in the U.S...the real New Orleans (NOLA).

Have fun everyone!

Here is another one.... Please watch this one... They are lining up and it is still dark...Look at the crowds flowing in! These folks are NOT EVEN IN DCA...

Just fast forward to about 6:00 minutes in.
