We'll be there!!!

January 29 through February 6.

3 days at the Wilderness Lodge Villas and then 6 days at the Wilderness Lodge Hotel.

3rd trip for DS#1 (who will turn 4 in February)

1st trip for DS#2 (who will turn 1 in February)

YAY!!

We'll be there Jan.29th- Feb.6th.
We have our plane tickets (expensive!)
and three rooms booked at Coronado already at AAA rates.
I'm also hoping for better AP rates.
We still need to get our park tickets next.

This will be our first trip with our kids since '99.
AND our first ever with grandchildren!
We are very excited!

It will Me, DH, my oldest son and DIL with their son Tyler who will be 1yrs old next month ,
My youngest son and DIL with their son Ryan who will be 4yrs. old next month.
Just sorry my middle son and fiancee can't get time off from Grad school and teaching to join us.

We guess we will have to keep our Commando style touring in check this trip
( been spending lots of time on the Family board for Tips)

Cinjam - I see you will be travelling with the same age kids too on the same dates.
We're leaving from My son's house in Edison, N.J. and flying out of Newark on Continental. Maybe we'll meet in the airport?

DH and myself will be going Feb 12-17on the DCL and the on to SSR 17-20.

We'll be at WDW the same tinme as your family. It's me DH, and DS (19 months) We'll be there Feb 8 -17. How do you do a 15hr drive in one day? We will be driving from Texas and have about a 16 hour drive. We plan on driving in the wee hours of the morning do that ds will sleep most of the way and drive until Gainesville, FL the first day.

Well, as far as the 15 hour drive, I have NO clue how that's going to end up going!! LOL When we went last year, we did the drive in two days and stayed in the Carolina's at a motel. This time, we originally planned to do that again, but we just HATE that we're spending money on a motel when that money could go towards WDW! (We will stay overnight on the way back home though as I know we'll be tired from the trip and it'll just be less motivating to get back home...) Our plan is to leave our house at 4am, so that would get us to WDW at 7 or 8pm (depends on how much we stop which with 3 young kids isn't completely predictable!!) I'm going to plan lots of little toys, snacks, games, books on tape, etc. to keep the kids busy. And we might have a DVD player in the car and watch a couple movies too. I'm sure it'll be a LOOOONG day, but once we're there it'll be worth it I think. And the first full day we're there, we're going to take it easy and not go to any parks. Just chill at the resort, maybe visit a couple other resorts we've never been to.

I don't think we'll do an Illuminations cruise, but thanks for bringing it up! Good luck with that!

Do any of ya'll think the Super Bowl in Jacksonville will have any real effect on WDW crowds? Do ya'll think that MCO will be extra busy the weekend of the Super Bowl? Oh yeah, we changed our grand gathering hotel, our group of 25 will now be at the WL Feb 4 to 12. Hopefully Southwest will release those schedules very soon and our travel plans can get finalized.

I've read the same question re:Super Bowl
on other threads this past month,
and the general consensus from DIS vets is
that it doesn't seem to impact crowds.

Somebody even mentioned the fact that
there would be an awful lot of guys at WDW
without their families if the "crowd" decided
to vacation before/after the game... Makes sense to me,
(not that ladies don't attend, but you get the picture).

I'm not a vet, just repeating what I've read, HTH.

WOW! There sure are a lot of people going in February. My DW and I will be staying at the AKL from Jan 31st - Feb4th.

We have gone for the last two February's and had a great time! It got a little cold one day last year (had to buy sweatshirts and bundle up), but overall the weather is nice.

I can't wait to go!!!!

This will be my 5th annual February trip...most likely WL bound, but I won't make my reservations till FL res rates come out in December.

Illuminations cruises- there are a limited number of boats that go out on the lake near epcot and you are able to see Illuminations from the boat. You have to reserve them 90 days out and they go fast. As long as one person reserves a boat other people can share the boat and share the cost of the boat. I want to try to get one or share one when we go there.

My family and I were thinking of doing the Illumenations cruise. We are interested. We will be there Feb 12 to the 27.

How many people are in your family? We are myself, dh and ds (age 2) If we tried to get a cruise together we would have 5 nights to try for (12,13,14,15,16).
Do you know anything about trying to get a illuminations cruise? Have you read the thread on it?

We are planning our trip for Jan 30-Feb 6. I wanted to book my trip when the codes were out. Has anyone heard of thWL selling out in the timeframe?

We will be at AKL concierge from Feb 12th to the 18th.

We did the Illiminations cruise when we were there last October, it was great. I didn't have a problem booking. I just called as soon as the phones opened on the first day mine was available. I was going to book again for this year. Does anyone know if I will definately be contacted by the concierge? and if so when????

I was going to try to have them book the Illuminations cruise as well as the castle for breakfast.

Maybe we can try to set up a meet while we are there. Let me know if anyone is interested.

We'll just miss you guys at AKL - we're there Feb 7-10 and then moving on to the Poly for Feb 10-13 and THEN off to the Wonder (I'm a wee tad excited ).

We will be trying to reserve an Illuminations cruise for Saturday Feb 12th - it is DSs b'day. We are a family of 3, so if I manage to get one I would be looking for others to join us. I'll post closer to our 90 day mark.
