Ashley, another thought is if you guys might want to rent dvc points I was going to rent points for our entire stay at OKW and decided to go w/the SOG/Poly instead... the thought of the monorail was just too good to pass up. there was some avail. a few days ago..it would probably be cheaper too!

FLAN! I was trying to figure out what that was... I was thinking cheesecake. Perhaps that was just wishful thinking.

I guess it could be moisture, it has been raining a lot. Usually that's more of a musty, grandma's-basement kind of smell though. I think it's just because the sickie kids were in the room all day in their jammies, and Emma may have laid down a few couch farts. All I know is when I settled down to watch my movie, it smelled like old shoes. I did not notice it this morning -- gotta love Airwick, Febreeze and Yankee Candle!

I wasn't sure if it was cheesecake or flan... it's flan shaped but cheesecake colored.

I'm not sure how it works, but we can probably book more than one room at our rate since we can book 5 rooms at SOG...but to get that price you'd have to come down the 19th the mod's were 116 I believe...I never got a price for the values when he said 264 +tax for Poly...I said...SOLD

Linda, yeah, thats why I want to stay at the Poly (because its on the monorail). Honestly, I don't think the moderates/DVC are worth it to me (especially Christmas time prices!!) unless it is a close proximity to the parks!! I mean, they are nice- don't get me wrong, but my preference would be to stay at either one of the Epcot resorts or the MK resorts...I would rather stay at Pop and save the money and just rent a rental car. Am I making any sense>?

I just want to do SOMETHING at Christmas! Jeremiah and I decided after last Christmas' dramas (with my Grandfather and how he is acting so nasty and strange lately, but denies he is Bipolar or has any other mental thing wrong with him) that we are taking a year off Christmas with family. We spent so much on everyone last year, we could've taken a nice trip instead! I don't want to just stay here because I think I would be too depressed!!

ETA, hmmm, if we came down the 19th that would up our air prices but it would be worth it to stay at the Poly.. but, Jeremiah said 3 nights is the limit. He can't take much time off work so since he was going to take some time off to go home anyways, its justified Christmas week.....

I'm thinking we'll split the day between MK and Epcot Christmas day... get to MK EARLY for the 7am opening and just hang around to feel the magic some and ride a few things before we have to leave maybe we'll just hop around and ride the "must do's" before we part we're having Christmas dinner at WCC...I've heard it is great and the WL decor is beautiful... If you would like to join us Ashley, just let me know and we can add you the the adr I'll be on the phone Mon morning for CP too!! Le Cellier I can't wait!! I already made adr's for Coral Reef too and Kona Cafe of coarse... and we're doing Ohana and CP too Isn't the T-rex cafe at DTD supposed to be open by then if so we'll HAVE to do that!!! I was thinking maybe Raglan Rd. too... but the food at SOG is really cheap...check it out!! it has gone back and forth if just anyone can go eat there...but you can go w/us anytime plus..NO TAX the buffet is like $15 pp and has crab legs and all kinds of goodies!!! YUMMMM

Linda- I've been to the parks Christmas day and trust me its PACKED!! You will have to get there at opening because If I'm not mistaken they close at some point during that day when they get to capacity. We are going to have 4 1 day tickets for 2 days in the parks (We have 2 from last year at free dining and will have 2 from this year)...I'm sure we will use them, but I don't think this trip would be necessarily about touring the parks...just enjoying the atmosphere and riding what we can!!!!

Did anyone see the movie 'Little Children'??? Oh, I watched this movie the other night and I am still tramatized I really didn't know what it was about when I added it to my queue on Netflix, I just added it because Kate Winslet was nominated for an Oscar for it.

Oh, I hear you! we stayed at Pop for our honeymoon!! That is what made Mike decide to go away for Christmas too... tired of the drama and bs w/our families... I love my sister do death, don't get me wrong but when she basically gives me a list of what to get her kids...spending $100-$150 on each of her THREE kids and spends $50 on Kenny...I'm tired of it! I just want to do OUR own thing, its just not worth it. My mom got offended last year b/c evidentally we didn't spend enough on her it isn't enough I let her live in MY house for 5 years ...a few years for free and the rest of the time about $200 a month or so cheaper than anyone else...and I pay for her cell phone every month...I'm just tired of it all and enough is enough. The more you give, the more they expect It's time we just have our own Christmas w/our own families I'll spend my $ @ Poly and have a blast for the 3 of us!

Lets see Ashley...if he took the 19,21,and 22nd off... 23 and 24th is the weekend..and he probably gets 24th paid right there is 19-25th and he'd only miss 19-22 off work w/o holiday pay...that is how it works here anyway but Poly would be $2079 plus tix if you need them and food... boy that adds up quick!! We're doing MVMCP the 18th... Maybe Jeremiah will surprise you and say what the heck...lets just go and have fun I wanted to go the week before b/c from what I read the closer it gets to Christmas, the more crowded it gets...

Linda - I don't blame you for jumping on that rate for the Poly - that's incredible! And since the beginning of your trip is earlier in December, you got a better rate, I bet. At least you'll have a couple 'lighter' crowd days the first part of your trip!

that would be awesome..just a more relaxed trip. I want to do some resort hopping too, and see the displays I've seen them on tv...but never went to the resorts during the holidays that's an idea too...we have old tix too!!

that is what I was thinking too...some good riding days before the crowds arrive...then we can do some resort hopping and let everyone else creep through the parks at a snails pace

I'm just cracking up at all this Christmas talk... in June!

DznyFan: Yes! Please post that picture again, so I will stop thinking "I want to go too." I can't stand trying to move around in a crowd, and being afraid to lose the kids, and getting jostled and shoved, having to look for an opening just to cross the street... that stuff is even worse to me than the long lines. At least in line it isn't as much of a free-for-all.

Ashley: I have never heard of that movie. Was it good, scary, sad? What's it about? I am so bad with my Blockbuster Online movies... I keep them forever before I get around to watching them. I finally watched Talladega Nights last night, I think I had it for almost 6 weeks! It was ok, but not the laugh riot I was in the mood for. I almost fell asleep a couple times during the movie. Tomorrow I'm going to take the kids to the actual Blockbuster store and return 2 of the movies, and let them each pick out one. That way I can have some time to clean up undisturbed, and they can each be happy for an hour or two. I'll just have to remember to return them, since we haven't rented from the actual store in forever - I'll probably need a new membership too! Don't they deactivate it after a few years? I have no idea.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE it though!! I will have to butter him up some. Actually, I'm surprised he agreed for Disney at Christmas but I think he knows I would be too sad to be away from family (even though its my choice!) and not do anything.

ACTUALLY, I just talked to Jeremiah and he said to have a bottom line budget and we can talk about it....HOLY CRAP, I just looked at Southwest and there is a $69 per way flight for December 19... is this a sign or a system glitch or something??!!! What are the exact dates you will be at the poly???

Lyzziesmom, well when I read the description it was something about a woman having an affair with another mans husband. I thought ok, I could handle that but it was pretty disturbing. There is a pedofile in the movie and I think thats why I was so tramatized!!! I would tell you more but I don't want to ruin it for you (or anybody else if they want to see it).They didn't mention that at all, atleast not from what I read..but its one of those movies that you cant turn off no matter how hard you try! and it was so LONG. I think talledega nights or however you spell it, wasn't very good either. I thought it was too long. It was pretty funny at the begining, but towards the middle/end got stupid.

yes...you'd have a lot more expenses to think about too if we fly...we'd have the car parking...but for all three of us to fly for $108....I can't complain! Even if the rental car is outrageous. Not many cars at the rinky dink airport they go to... can't win them all...
we'll be at the Poly 19-26th oh, that would be so awesome!! If you're trying to budget cheap, SOG is right across the street and we'll probably eat over there quite a bit. check out their menus... very reasonable. I'm going to buy cereal, donuts and stuff to eat most mornings in the room...etc. For a 10 day trip we're having a few great places I really want to go but overall we'll eat cs and at SOG or in the room... save some $$$ $69 that is awesome!
