Lesa: I can't wait to hear the rest of the poodle skirt story! I must say, you're much more ambitious than I would have been. I can't sew a stitch either. Last year I had a button fall off my blazer at work. It just so happened that the day before, a vendor had come by and dropped off some promotional items... including a mini sewing kit. Being the receptionist, I keep pretty much all vendor gifts. So I whipped it out and somehow the sewed the button back on my blazer, and it held! I was so proud, I showed it to everyone. The funny part is, the blazer and button are black and the thread I used was white! I just called it a fashion statement and continued to be proud.
Happy Birthday Courtney!!
Lyzzie saw those cakes and wants to know where they sell them.
We went to a couple pet stores today in search of a pet mouse for Lyzzie and a cage. It's harder than it sounds, because I refuse to pay $40 for a two dollar mouse! Also, most rodent cages have bars on the sides, and we learned the hard way last year that a mouse can slip right through those bars. Lyzzie had a cage she bought at a garage sale, and we caught a field mouse and put him in the cage. He lasted all of .5 seconds before he ran out and right into my mom's house! Lyzzie found a little baby brown mouse at one store today that she just fell in love with - she was a cute little critter. But, no cages. Found a cage at Petco, but no mice. By then I was getting tired & crabby so we just came home.
We did see the sweetest little puppy at one store. She was a black & brown longhaired dachschund, about 6-8 weeks old. I immediately called my mom, because she's been looking for a dog and we used to have a red longhaired doxie who was just the best dog every. But, they wanted $500 for this puppy and mom's not willing to pay that much. The girls and I fell in love with the little thing, but I can't have a dog, I'm just not that responsible! Actually we're not really home enough to fairly care for a dog.
We had lunch at a McD's that I've never been to... it was so cute! It was decorated like a 50s diner, complete with records on the wall, red vinyl sparkly chairs and pictures of records on the tabletops. Who knew? Lyzzie, my little vegetarian, must have been very hungry because she said, "Mommy your chicken looks really good, can I have some?" (It was the chicken selects, which DO look a lot better than nuggets.) I had to ask her, "Who are you and what have you done with Lyzzie??"
Emma has been crashed out on the couch since about 6pm - now it's almost bedtime and I'm sure she'll wake up soon. The poor kid was so crabby, she cried for about 15 minutes because her favorite show wasn't on. Then she followed me to the bathroom, and when I sat back down on the couch she climbed into my lap and finally settled down. Next thing I knew she was asleep! I hope she's not up all night.
Hope everyone's having a great weekend!
