Happy Birthday Princess Courtney!

Good Morning! Thanks for breakfast Donna!

I still haven't had much time to catch up so..... to those that need them, :cheer2: for those with good news, :lmao: for those that said something funny, and :wizard: for those that need it.

I did have a very nice birthday. We went out to eat at Red Robbin and Brittany told them it was my birthday, so they sang and she ate my ice cream.:lmao: Then yesterday I picked Brittany up for lunch and she took me to Wendy's and last night we ate at Famous Dave's for dinner. I am kinda sick of eating out now, so I shall cook something for dinner tonight. I must be getting old.

Warning.....Long, but funny!!!

Madison has a Daddy/Daughter dance next Saturday (Brittany did too, but said it is not cool :sad2: ) and the theme is 50's, so she needs a poodle skirt. Now let me remind you I do not sew, not even a button, just look at my tag.;) Sooooooo I went to the fabric store yesterday and there was a lady that looked like she knew a thing or two about sewing, she was looking through the patterns. So I ask her if she could explain how to use the pattern to make a skirt. She kindly explains how to do it and I tell her I don't sew and does she think this would be easy. She of course said yes, so then I get brave and ask her if she thinks I could put it together with fabric glue because again, I don't sew. :lmao: She laughed and said....probably not.:lmao: O.k. fine, then I ask her how hard it is to thread a sewing machine, she asks me what kind......O.k. here your going to laugh, she sure did........ I sucked it up and proudly told her it was my daughter's Barbie sewing machine.:rolleyes1 I could tell she was trying to hold it in but started laughing :rotfl2:. So she gave me a few more tips and I took the material up like I knew what I was doing and had the lady cut it for me and then I begged her to please find me a poodle applique so I didn't have to try to attempt to make that too.:scared: She said they had just discontinued them and they had 1 left.:dance3: :dance3: So I set off home to attempt to make the poodle skirt..........To be continued..............

Good morning Michele, I hope you can relax the last 2 days of your vacation. I still have not found a good flight. Everything I find is for a day after and opposite times that we need. I did however check my OKW reservation and it had me checking out of there on the 29th so I had to call on that.

I'm not laughing...I am not laughing....Ok, yes, I am laughing:rotfl:

Only because I can see me doing this too. Thank goodness Mom sews!!

See if you hadn't moved so far away Mom could have made a skirt for Maddie. Actually she made a poodle skirt for Bree for Halloween one year...I wonder if I still have it somewhere.

I hear David broke his thumb at 'work':rolleyes1 Kind of the same way he broke his elbow...right??:rotfl2:

Well I did our taxes last night but something went wrong and when I try and file electronically is says there is an error!! I may have to uninstall and reinstall the software and start over:headache:

Have a great Saturday!!

You were double booked at OKW and Vero?? I need to call MS on Monday and check on my waitlist.

I will check again later on the flights...since Blake wouldn't let me book when I could find flights at a decent price...maybe I'll make this his job!!

Part 2.......

I get home, open the pattern and luckily the lady at the fabric store showed me which parts of the pattern I needed and she told me about how when it says fold on the pattern that means to place the pattern on the fold of the fabric. I would not have known to fold the fabric then I would have been totally confused as to why I did not have enough fabric cut for the skirt and why I had so much uncut left over.:rolleyes1 So......
step 1: I cut out my pattern pieces, that was easy so far, I can do this!!!:yay:
step 2: Lay pattern pieces on the fabric and cut out. O.k. half way through I think it, "Wouldn't it be easier if I would have pinned the pattern to the fabric" but she didn't tell me to do that.
step 3: lay fabric pieces together. This is where my problem begins....One is much bigger than the other. Why? :confused3 I don't know, I followed the picture of the layout just like it showed. I look a little more and that is when I noticed on the pattern where it said the sizes. Who knew they would have 2 of the same looking pattern pieces but for different sizes. The question did cross my mind on how they could get so many sizes out of one pattern, but I was not worried about size that would be too confusing.;) O.k. the only thing left to do was......
step 4: Cut bigger piece to match smaller piece.

Now there are a bunch of different symbols on the pattern pieces, I think they may have been more instructions.......but I think they were thinking I knew what I was doing, which I clearly did not......so I ignored them and made up my own instructions.........:lmao:

To be continued.......:rolleyes1

Sure, go ahead and laugh....:rolleyes1 I think I may have actually asked her when we were there, but then I forgot about it and only remembered it again yesterday when I got a reminder email from her Brownie leader. Now you tell me you may have a poodle skirt.:headache:

Yep, he broke it at work, falling on some boxes in the messy store room full of junk.:sad2: He is so bad........

I did our taxes a while ago, e-filed and payed the extra to get them back quicker and put the wrong bank account number, so over a month later we still don't have our check.:sad2: I hope you fix it without having to do it all over.:scared:

Part 3

I had to dig the sewing machine out of the closet, mind you it is on the top shelf under a bunch of stuff. Instead of moving things, that would be too easy and I was in a hurry:rolleyes1 , so I pulled the box out from under the many boxes and everything came crashing down on my head. I was a little stunned and possibly going to have a few bruises, but I was on a mission now, so I decided I'll suffer later.:guilty:

I get out the sewing machine hoping that Brittany had left it threaded from the last time she used it. Of course it is not, that would have made it too easy for me. YM.......I should have thought to look up a picture of it on the web, it would have saved me 2 hours of trying to figure out how to thread the darn thing.:headache: :rotfl2:

To be continued..........yes, there is more.:lmao:

Lesa your killing me.....:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I'll have to tune into part three when we get back from a birthday party.......:lmao:

Whoo Hoo!!! I booked our flights for Disney in June!!:woohoo:

Now I am getting excited!!!

Courtney is LOVING the beautiful Birthday cakes!! :yay:

Donna, breakfast looks so good! I can't wait to get to WDW!!

I'm glad your dentist appointment went well.

Lesa, you are killing me! :lmao: I have never tried sewing anything from a pattern; I usually just figure it out as I go along.

Michele, sorry you are having problems filing your taxes. I used Taxact (online version) and it went ok.

Well, spoke to my mom again about WDW. I have explained more about it and I think she understands it now. She has said that she will be ok if she needs to go off by herself. She isn't that interested in seeing parades (I HAVE to see Spectro) or the fireworks. She said she will get them a chance, but may just go back to the room. SO, let's hope this actually does work out. :wizard:

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I am trying to get motivated to start packing. I want to have most stuff packed so I don't have to worry about it next week.
