Here's the scoop camera-wise. I love my little digital. It's an Olympus, and I've had it for about 4 years. It's somewhere in between a point and shoot and an SLR. 3.2 megapixel, 8x optical zoom. My problem is portraiture. I can override my shutter speed, if I recall correctly, but can't override my aperture so that I can get a nice diffused background. Now, we are going to NYC in a month, and WDW in 3 months, and darling Erin has decided she needs some senior portraiture done in both locations. GREAT! That means I get to pack my 35mm SLR. DH was kind enough to buy me a new body a couple years ago after my old SLR body died. Overuse, I think. My exisiting lenses fit on new body. I've only used it ONCE, and that was for my nephew's wedding last summer. I really DON'T want to spend the money on a new digital, but I'm at a loss.

I will look over these models ya'll have suggested and see what I like. Image stabilization and high
optical zoom are high priorities.
