DalPal - I LOVED the mood ring joke! I told my DH.......he laughed! Thanks for posting that one! You'd be amazed how much fun bowling is.........I usually am thrilled to break 100....I'm no bowler, either! Who cares! I'm not playing for eating money, right!?

Well, I went to the grocery store and I'm still debating the vacuuming thing. Maybe after I take a nap!

Sounds like a neat idea Kim.

I have an IM thing but I don't hardly ever use it cause there is no one on there to talk to!!!

I have 5 teenagers on my list and my daughter has me on ignore most of the time anyways

At the very least we could exchange e-mail addresses, and send each other updates. Although chatting with everyone sounds like fun.

Ann, I will have to ask about that beard. He wore one for lots of years when he was younger.

I used to bowl in an afternoon ladies league for a few years. It was called....... ready for this.......... The Afternoon Delights I wasn't much of a bowler in fact I have a few "skunk" trophies to prove it.

Those are pretty funny stories, Dalpal. I especially liked the grandpa one

I just checked out the big dismeet........Its a bummer but, July 9th is the day befor we are going to WDW so we cant make it.....Its sounds like it will be fun though.

Just got a look at you cute kittys.....Im glad you had a sec. pic of the first cat. In the first pic all I could see are paws!.........................................................................................................................but they were very pretty paws!

Dinner is almost ready. Just waiting for it to heat up. Man-o-man! I llllooooove my crockpot! I've had it forever, and I inherited 2 from my DMIL.....no kidding! She had them IN her will! She knew how much I liked her vintage crockpots. I use them all the time. They make the best meals and they're done early!

DD and our sick GS were over. He's okay, just whiney right now and wants to be held. He was happy playing airplane outside. Okay, picture this..........Nana (who's tooshie still hurts) running around the yard for 20 minutes like an airplane while DH, DD & GS laugh! The good news is GS was laughing and playing airplane with me! He loves to be outside.

Well, I have an AOL IM but it's not on our computer any more. Maybe I could get one up. If ya'll want to just send e-mails, PM me and we can exchang e-mails! I'm up for it! I already have Cruisins, so I can at least bug her! When my sister's and I e-mail, we send it to ALL sisters, and then hit the "reply all" button so everyone can see your answers/stories. It works pretty easy that way and we keep in touch nicely.

Besides our dog, we have a cat, a bird, a fish, 2 kids (3 if you count DS' GF) a FIL & my husband. Quite the house-full.

Welll...you guys have been a busy buch! Super Cool!

I see the DIS boards will be down ...well...timing is everything....

I have one meeting tomorrow...and then I am off until 12/6....leave for WDW on the 10th....so...I doubt you'll see much of me for awhile.......

I'll try to pop in now and again....but if I don't....no problemo...

so....I wish you all the Happiest of Thanksgivings! Enjoy your families on this special day...

Also, enjoy your feast...I'm guessing already I'll be whining I ate too much

Once upon a time.....in a land nearer than you think....but further away than it should be....

a yong Lady....around 9 years old....was celebrating Thanksgiving Day with her whole family....

there was her, her Mom, Dad, Brother & Sister....her GrandMa , Grandpa, Grammy & Papa, her Great Grampa...2 Great Gramma's...2 Uncles, 2 Aunts and her 2 cousins...( a boy & a girl)

Itwas Thanksgiving morning...and the whole clan had already arrived at her house...

turkey and stuffing were in the oven, and the preperations were well underway....

anyway... she was at the kitchen table stuffing peanut butter on celery sticks...while her Papa peeled potatoes and her Mom & Grammy were peeling yams....

she looked around at the others and said:
"You know....all the Holidays have a candle....except Thanksgiving...

candles are everywhere I think...

when Uncle got married, they lit a candle...

when my cousin got baptized, they lit a candle..

we have candles at birthdays and annivesaries....

we put candles in pumpkins at Halloween...there's Christmas candles....Easter candles....

candles everywhere...except Thanksgiving"...

she thought for a minute..and said..."I know other religions use candles too....

there's candleight processions...

but nothing at Thanksgiving!"

As soon as she put the cap on the peanut butter jar...

she announced..."I'm making a Thanksgiving candle! "

and away she goes....rummaging around the house...scrounging around in the
garage...

making trip after trip to a small table on the sun porch....

until finally...she had gathered all she could find....

she sat at the small table....she had a candle holder of clear glass....a half-burnt orange candle from Halloween...some pine cones...an old salt shaker that looked like a turkey....
and a bouquet of autumn-colored leaves...

studiously, she put them all together ...and, when done...had a cute decorative "Thanksgiving Candle"....

she took it around to her family...proudly showing off her craftsmranship....

when done, she announced she would now have her Thanksgiving candle lit...and she would say her thanks until the candle burnt out...

Her Papa lit the candle....and the young Lady started her thanks...

she said thanks for her family....for their health...for all the love in her family....for good grades in school.. for her nice home...

and still..the candle flickered....

she continued giving thanks...the meal was starting to be put on the table...
and still, she was giving thanks...

her Dad started carving the turkey and still the flame on the candle burned...so the little girl recited her blessings...

when Her Mom started to say Grace, the candle went out....a wisp of smoke rose in the air signifying the wick was gone...

She got up and took her place at the table...

all eyes were on her....proud of her for her idea of the Thanksgiving candle...

and even more proud...and impressed with her resolve to give her thanks while the candle burned....

each peson lost in their own thoughts of Thanksgiving ....

the silence was broken as the Mashed potatoes were passed around the table...

her Grammy asked: "Of all the thanks you gave today...what was your most important?"

and with the wide eyed honesty of the young and innocent...she answered...

"I don't know..but I was pretty doggone thankful when that candle finally went out...."

BrerPapa, before you go...........will you tell us a smilie story? They are a delight for the eyes!

BTW, is anyone else having problems posting? Everytime I press the submit button, it says it cannot find page. Needless to say, I'm copying all my stuff until I see the post!

It seems like we are going to have to miss you then for the next little while. It will be pretty quiet around here.

Are you off on a business trip or just off of work??? Being off of work sounds much more exciting than a business trip.

We hosted our Christmas Party for our business tonight at a local restaurant.

Good food, good company, over all a successful evening.

We are quite small, only 7 employees including myself and my husband. Our Christmas party was a total of 14 people.

DP & TW, yes Subway is a very interesting cat. He can sleep in the funniest positions. In that picture his head is at the bottom of the picture kind of tucked underneath his front paws. I think he looks like a huge turkey ready to be stuffed . Half the time he sleeps right on his face, head down. We like to call him FacePlant when he does that

Brer_Papa, I don't know about your bowling theory with the step, step, wiggle, wiggle, step, release stuff. Personally I don't have any wiggle, wiggles in my repertoire. I do five steps and then release.
