Who feels like a Thread-Killer? Part 2

Probably you are right TW.

They will likely be the best pictures we have of her yet!

My son never smiled for his either ( you are right I think it is a guy thing ) His turned out very nicely too!

Oh yeah

She gets into the car. I get the one word answers to any questions I ask. I say what's bothering you today and I get the stock "I don't know" shrug of the shoulders.

So I just stop talking to her and wait until she gets over whatever it is that is bugging her ;)

Hi everyone!

Today, I went to see "The Polar Express". I really enjoyed it......it was a visual delight! I can see where kids felt it was a little slow in some places, but for us adult Santa believers, it was OUR movie! I truly enjoyed this one.

I also bought the 3rd Harry Potter film....watching that one tonight. Here on the computer, DH is NOT a HP fan! That's okay, the computer has a terrific flat screen monitor and surround sound!

My dad called me and told me he was in the mood for my home made mac & cheese. So, Tom and I have a lunch date with my dad! how cool is that? I offered him the dish (one of his favs) ANYTIME during his recovery. Because of his age & heiatel hernia, eating is a problem for him after surgery. I was thrilled that he was ready to eat!

Guess what else I'm doing tomorrow?...........I have a breakfast date with DH! Aawwww, come on! No one is surprised?

TW, I read your pre-trip report and it sounds like you're going to have an awesome time! We'll miss you while you're off work and enjoying Thanksgiving. Happy turkey day to you!

Cruisin - sorry to hear your DD is in a foul mood. I hate when that happens. I never understood the "whatever" shrug. Even when I used it as a kid. I didn't use it often, it drove my parents crazy! Now, if someone asks me what's wrong............I tell them! Actually, I tell Tom! Poor guy, sometimes he just asks the wrong questions! :D

TOOSHIE UPDATE: Tooshie is still sore and I didn't vacuum yesterday. Maybe tomorrow! ::yes::

My DD and my Mom are HP nutz!
DD and me were talking about POA just last night...

DD collects the books, hardcover only, and now wants to "collect" all the movies.
I've already added the movies to my Christmas list for her;)

Polar Express is on my "must see" list...:smooth:

I am so glad your Dad is feeling better.

DH and I haven't had a "date" in a while, I think we're going to have to fix that this weekend::yes::

Maybe vacuuming will make your tooshie feel better if you throw a little wiggling and waggling into it?!? Maybe?

And regarding that :confused3 thing...
IMO it's a "I have something to say but not quite ready to say it."

Sometimes a little time and space can do wonders for a rotten mood.

TW, in the HP DVD, they are selling replicas of some of the movie props........including Harry, Hermoine & Ron's wands. They are awesome. They're less than $30 per piece. Your DD might be thrilled with that for Christmas - if she's young enough. (I don't have a memory for details, so I don't know if you said her age). They also have Hermoine's time piece, which is SO cool!

Anyway, if you're not planning on purchasing the DVD and you're interested, PM me your e-mail address and I'll scan & send the info to you. If you'd rather not receive that big of an attachment, PM me your regular address and I'll send you the little brochure. Either, or......Neither, nor works for me! Just let me know!

Decided to cook dinner instead of low-carb pizza's. We're having baked squash (the low-carb one - kinda like butter nut) along with chicken & zucchini. They're all baked in a bit of olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, parseley & rosemary. Smells yummy!

Anyone want some leftovers?

Leftover??????

Yes please, just a little :teeth:

No, I have my glass of water, I'll be okay::yes::

Seriously, you won't believe this, and I don't blame you.

I took DD to school today. Went to work. At about 9:45, the school calls me to say her tummy's bothering her, again! So, off I go, again! This time her teacher wanted to see me first, so I went to the room, and while we were talking, the special ed teacher walks up, so the 3 of us are trying to decide which 'emotional' issue has Kelly's tummy all achey lately. :( I told them that today, of all days, she would WANT to be there, it was her time with the SE teacher, and her co-BD party classmate brought cupcakes for her BD, both reasons for DD to want to stay, but she couldn't. So anyway, I collect DD and off we go. I start a gentle questioning, trying to figure this out, and I'm not getting anything. I decide to call the Dr. again. I describe the past 2 weeks, and they say to bring her in again. Well, guess what? She's got walking pneumonia!!!!! I couldn't believe it myself, I swore they would say something viral, can't do anything, wait it out, but no! The Dr. said it was common to have tummy aches with walking pnuemonia and/or bronchitis, even though the child appears otherwise normal! I was floored, really, but I really was so thankful also to have a 'name' for it, and that she can now take a prescription and GET BETTER, FINALLY!!!! At least I hope so.

My DS is home from school this week, so he's gonna stay with DD while I go to work for a few hours tomorrow. I feel SOOOO bad for my boss, it's just him & I, and when I'm not there, he has to do everything. :( I worked less than 10 hours last week, and this week, when I left I had a whopping 6 hours so far. With the holiday, I just HAVE to go in and try to help him as best I can in a short amount of time.

So, that's the latest from the newly formed Raye Medical Center!

 Hello ...how is everyone?

So is everyone hanging out on msn messenger while the boards are down? We leave tomorrow to Savannah. Hopefully traffic will not be bad, but I hear it will be. :( I should be back on Sunday to all my fans... :teeth: LOL

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

P.S. KimRaye, hope your daughter feels better. :(

:wave2: Kim, well isn't it nice that you can at least start to treat Kelly and get her well again. It is not nice that she has pneumonia though. I hope that she will be well on the road to recovery by the weekend.::yes::

 PrincessaC - have a good and safe trip and hopefully the boards will be back up by the time you arrive home again.

Good Morning Thread Killers & Lurkers alike!

Hi DalPal! princess:

Hmmmmm...awesome menu...

OK....here I am biting my tongue not to beg for leftovers.....

and I won't....

POLL!

When I read "knobs" I giggled...

YES _______

NO ______

I was looking at a long eyebrow I have....when suddenly, it dawned on me....

most of you are too young to remember those broadcast tests...an sets with knobs and dials....

once again...I really must declare my innocence if I was misinterpreted...

 :innocent: :halo:

Wow! I have the TK Room to myself!

Good!

Doesn't happen very often....

while no one's looking..I'm gettng rid of these drapes...I never did like them...

and...I'm adjusting this mirror so I can see myself....aaah...that's better...

I'm going to put a framed picture of Santa on the wall....

OUCH! missed...that hurt....

OK! ...doesn't look crooked....

Hmmm...I'm changing the light bulbs in the lamps.....I don't want to be called blurry again....

LOOK! one kleenex left in the box!

like whoever took the second from last couldn't use the last one too...I better put a new box out....

Might as well make a list of things to juggle while I'm alone here....

I see a couple of TK-ers leave their slippers here....those will juggle nicely...

HEY!!!

     !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll start to put up a Christmas tree!

I'll get the tree in the stand....put the lights on...and hang some of my favorite ornaments....

some Angels...my tin train set.....some Disney ornaments....my Kugels....

then...TK-ers can add their favorite ornaments when they come in....

THERE!! I think it looks great! so far....

Hmmmm......I wonder....

YES!!

I'll put one of my Lionel train sets under the tree....

Oh boy!

Can't wait to see what ornaments the others bring....

Good Morning Threadkillers!

Yes, BrerPapa, I giggled when you said "knobs"! I DO remember those types of TV's. I remember before they had remotes! You had that big knob you turned the channels with (because we didn't have remotes, parents basically thought "children.........remotes!")

I would put on two ornaments...........When Tom and I first got married we were pretty broke all the time. We bought this (at the time we thought beautiful) cheesy angel for the top of the tree. All we could afford at $6.94. The best that Ames Dept store had. Anyway, despite the fact she is worn, tired and cheesy, she's beautiful! She holds so many memories in her gold foil wings. I'd put her on the tree. I'd also put the "our first Christmas" glass ball we bought at Hallmark. Too broke to afford the shaped ornaments like we have now, but we did spend $4.95 22 years ago on this one. We hang that one on the tree together every year. First ornament to go up - - - last ornament to go down.

Kim - I hope your DD is doing better. Despite it's walking pnemonia, I imagine you're relieved. Hope all goes well with your work day today. It probably feels good to get out of the house for a little bit........despite the guilt of leaving your DD. She'll be fine and I imagine you've already called a few times!

PrincessaC! How ARE you! I was thinking of you in the middle of the night last night......wondering where you were! Hope you have a great trip and come back safely to us! We missed you!

DalPal - your menu sounds divine! There are days I wish I could eat anything I wanted! Dietary restrictions during the holidays are tough! However, I imagine I'd sneak a few carbs in here & there! Sounds like you've got a whopper of a Thanksgiving planned!

Cruisin - how ya doin? Tomorrow (as you know) is Thaksgiving for us.......you takin' the day off and feasting? I think you should. Let me know if you need a handwritten note to skip work tomorrow. I'll send ya one!

TW - hope you have a GREAT thanksgiving. Are you gonna post a turkey/mickey avatar for us? Or are you waiting for Christmas?

Well, our b'fast day was awesome (as usual) and I've got to get that homemade mac & cheese ready for my lunch date. I'm not eating it.......I'm making myself a nice salad. Too full from b'fast anyway. It should be fun. I did buy our DGS(x2) birthday presents! Their birthdays are 17 days apart. The oldest will be 2, and the youngest is having his first birthday! Sigh.......

Take care ya'll.......and Happy Thanksgiving. Ya'll are on my list of things to be thankful for, too! I just love my threadkiller friends!

A quick note to say.....
BP!....HEY! ......You are so silly!
To tell the truth about the knobs.......I still have a tv that has them...Its in storage...but I think it still works...B&W too.
AND I did NOT Giggle..................................................I snorted.;)

I have this dalmatian(my friend gave me)that has a halo over his head, and wings....I would put that on the tree....Its suppose to be my "Sultan Pepper"and he is as far from an angel as you can get......Hence the joke!...My DH says it has to be my other Dal...and I have to admit he is probably right...She is the angel of the family!
I also have a ton of disney ones....I have gotten from my S&DIL..They know me well!
Gotta go.....Have a great TG ...BP! and a great trip to the "World"
Ill give you all my leftovers IF you take me with you to WDW.!::yes::

No Thanksgiving here tomorrow. Can I come and eat at someone's house :( . I have no idea what we will be eating tomorrow. I don't plan that far in advance. Heck I don't even know what we are eating tonight:p

Nope Ann, can't take the day off tomorrow because it is payday. I am the most popular person in the building on payday!!!!!

I, too, still have a black and white tv with the knobs on it. Those knobs sure are noisy when you turn them aren't they????? Our old tv is at the shop, we kind of store it there but don't really use it very often. The last time it was used, unfortunately was the famous Sept 11th. We heard what was happening very early on and got out the tv so we could keep informed. That is a day I will never forget. All of us crowded around this tiny little black and white tv, trying to make sense out of the madness of the world!!!:sad1:

What ornaments would I bring to put on the tree? HMmm. I have a small glass bell that is very old and is very glittery. It came from my grandmother. It has a clacker inside of it and it makes noise. I always put that one on the tree, near the top of course for safety. As for a second one, I don't know that I have any favourites. I am not really a Christmas person.

Well, I made reservations last night for Jan 2 & 3 to stay at the POP Century before our cruise leaves on the 4th - 8th. We will most likely be driving down and leaving on Jan 1. My daughter doesn't want to do that because it is her boyfriend's birthday that date. But I am not about to let that affect MY vacation plans!!

Have fun everyone planning your meals and having your family get togethers for the rest of the week.

Because my son is a Paramedic Student he is supposed to get a flu shot. If he doesn't, he won't be allowed to go into nursing homes etc if there is a flu outbreak.

He tried to get one today from the nurse at the College that he goes to.

She wouldn't do it. She says because he has an anaphylactic allergy (life-threatening) to peanuts that he can only get a flu shot if he goes to the doctor.

Apparently he might be at a greater risk of having a reaction because he is already allergic to something else:confused: As far as we know there would be nothing he would be allergic to in a flu shot.

So I guess he will be talking with the doctor and deciding what to do about it. He may have to be exempted from getting the shot. He said the nurse told him there are some oral medications that he could use if it became necessary that would give him immunity but for a shorter period of time than the shot.
