Yes..I wrestled in HS....

9th grade - 98 lbs

10 grade - 103

11th grade - 112

12th grade - 117

only had trouble making weight once..

PA noticed how buff i got from all that rowing last night...

after I told her I might have to rassle someone for a pie...and after she got done shaking her head from side to side...

I told her my rasslin' moves might be a little rusty....

so...she agreed to let me put some moves on her...

and...well...you know....one thing led to another....

& before i knew it.....

Yes BP, you should definitely share some recipies.

The only thing I know about squirrels is
1-they hibernate in winter so they have to fatten themselves up and
2-you can usually tell who the mama is because she's the one who gives up all her tail fur to line the nest.

I've never had squirrel nuggets but I have had gator nuggets! (at gatorland) The meat looks like chicken but tastes like gator.
It's actually very good. We brought home some gator stew (in 94) and still haven't opened the can. Think it's still good?

well...Pop decided he was going to get into the rabbit business....

so...first...he goes out and buys this humongous cage contraption....

kind of like a bunny condo...

darn thing was 6 foot high and 10 feet across....

6 rows high and 9 cages across ....all in one gigantic unit....

so then he goes out and buys all these rabbits...

all solid color rabbits....

he didn't want any with spots or stripes or any color combination....

each had to be solid colored...

so...he gets all-white ones....all-black ones....all-red ones...

he reasoned that he could mate one solid color with a same solid color...


and the bunnies would produce litters of the same solid colored bunnies...

i.e. a white buck with a white doe....all the off-spring would be white...

sound reasoning I suppose...

further...he figured he'd be able to sell all the baby bunnies at Easter time...

sound reasoning I suppose....

then...he gets himself paper and clipboards....so he can keep track of who is who...who did what to who...and when...and such....

sound reasoning I suppose...

well...where his sound reasoning started to fall apart....was when he "outsourced' the feeding of the brood...

and the cleaning of the cages to me and 2 of my brothers....

can't say I blame him...he did work a full time job besides....and he stayed busy before and after work with chores, animals....garden...

DalPal knows how much there is to do....


anyway....me and my brothers did as we were told....

we fed the rabbits....we watered the rabbits...

and then...we got told to clean the cages....

so we did...

unfortunately, we took the rabbits from the top 3 rows....put them in the cages with the bunnies in the bottom 3 rows....

and bunnies did what bunnies do....

well...first...we giggled....and then...

it dawned on us that this could really mess up the "solid color plan"...


and truthfully...we giggled some more...

so..we decided to stop them....

but hey...what did we know about bunny-interruptus?

heck..we didn't even know what bunny-interrptus was!

anyway....by the time we got done giggling and start to uhmmmm...seperate them...

too late....

the bunnies were done...

BUT...we still had 3 rows to clean...so we moved everybody to the top 3 rows...

aaah..just in time for a bunny second wind....

naturally...we started giggling again...

and cleaned the cages...

no thought of performing bunny-interruptus....

so....time marches on....

Pop is pleased all the does are "in the family way" so to speak....

one week...the birthing starts...first one doe...then another....

Poor Pop....


he'd stand there with his clipboard in one hand...a pencil in the other...

he'd point at say...a black bunny....look at his clipboard....point at another black bunny...

then he'd look closely at the litter...one white with black ears......one black with white spots....one white with a black tail and 2 black feet...

then he'd scratch his head and go onto the next pair...

point....point...look..scratch....

well...he decided bunny ranching wasn't his cup of tea...

he sold everything...proably at a loss...i don't really know for sure...

but what I do know is:

Me and my brothers never breathed a word...NEVER...

we would have had a visit to the woodshed...

Brer_Papa the sum total of my cookie baking experiences these days comes from Pillsbury fancy cookie rolls that change with the seasons

They are a hit in this house so why mess with perfection

I have been known to bake banana bread (cake) on occasion though.

How have you been Cruisin'Kroezes ? My pc has been acting up alot lately. I had to uninstall a bunch of stuff on it. I don't know what's wrong with it. Ever since we got back from our trip it has not been working right. SIL was here at our house everyday while we were gone and she says the pc was working just fine.

I can't help you with your computer problem though because I am pretty much computer illiterate. That's what I have children for

I have to go out soon and take my daughter to her dance class for 9. It is late for a class but they are all older teenagers so it doesn't matter so much.

It is a cool class. They call it the "partners" class. It is both boys and girls and they dance together with partners (go figure huh, couldn't tell that by the name of the class could you )

They dance in a hip hop style (kind of/sort of/loosely ) They use lifts and dips and that kind of stuff in it too.

They are going to be performing on Nov 21 for charity so they are finishing up their practices and trying to get everything polished and ready to go.

Hi everyone!

TW - that was such a cool thread! I laughed at some of the replies. It's amazing the thought that goes into what BP only sees as future McNuggets! Thanks so much.....I loved it!

Today we played catch-up. We visited my dad at the hospital. They didn't release him as planned. He's running a fever, although it's finally starting to break. Down to 99.3. He also was unable to pee. I know that sounds silly, but it's very important after surgery, so they had to cath him 3 times today! Finally, after some medication, that problem has been solved! He's also finally getting on his feet. He's getting older, so it's harder to bounce back from surgery. Hopefully, he'll go home tomorrow.

Other than that, we unpacked from the PA trip, did laundry and tried to catch up on our sleep! We're relaxing and in for the night. Today was my (step)mom's birthday. Not exactly how she planned on spending the day, but they did it up right the week before.

Cruisin - I hope your glasses work out okay. It's awful when you have to get used to them. I usually don't let 12 months go inbetween new glasses - I have really bad eyes. I agree with your cookie theory - if it's ain't broke......don't fix it! I'm scratching my head for Christmas and trying to make some baked goods. I've got a couple of ideas.

In fact, in the next few days, I'm going to make a few low-carb dishes as a trial run for Christmas. I'm going to make stuffing with low-carb bread, make a sugarfree pumpkin cheesecake, stuff a chicken and roast it and try a sugarfree cranberry sauce. I'll let you know how it goes.

BrerPapa - as usual, loved the story. You do have a way with words. I'm not sure I would have agreed with your father on the principle of matching bunnies - aren't they all pretty much mutts?

If the two that keep getting into my birdfeeders.....dont stop soon ...Im going to let my son shoot them( he has been bugging me about letting him shoot them for a couple of weeks now) and Ill send them to BP so he can McNugget them!........And no BP you dont have to send them back....You can keep them and enjoy them yourself......Consider it a gift....I really dont need them. At this time of year there is just too much "game " coming into this house.....Deer.....Geese....turkey...I can take the turkey and maybe alittle deer ....but I draw the line on squirrel....
