Hi everyone!
Ugh, I've got a UTI! I HATE them! I'm prone to them and have taken 3 months of meds to re-start my system, so it's been 7 months for me - as opposed to the usual every 4 weeks! Tom's sinuses are going crazy and we've both got headaches. Not our best day today.
I talked to SIL and her cancer is spreading. They are doing a different chemo and it's making her very sick. I have a funny feeling that if this one doesn't work the doc is going to say that they've done all they could......I think she feels the same way. It's heartbreaking. No one deserves this.
I talked to my (step)mother. After today, No more STEP! She's too good to me and I am lucky enough to have two mothers. So, if anyone is confused my mother passed away 25 years ago and I have a lovely second mother who has a huge chunk of my heart.....:she sheepishly steps off of podium:
Anyway, Dean said that Dad is doing well, except for his tummy. He has a heital hernia that's pretty bad. Anyway, everything tastes funny and he doesn't want to eat because he's afraid of getting sick........who can blame him! We told them that we were staying home incase Tom's sinuses could infect him and we wanted a day of rest. She said she & dad are sitting in the recliners watching movies and having a quiet day.
The good news of the day!!! The chicken with low-carb stuffing is in the oven and smells WONDERFUL! The pumpkin cheesecake turned out well (DH took a slice already - can you believe it?) and I'm getting ready to make the other low-carb goodies for dinner in two hours. It's been a fun cooking challenge to figure out what to make for the holidays and I'm enjoying this trial run very much.
Okay...........ya'll tired of my whining/long posts yet? I know I am.
TW - you and I watch the exact same things! Other than that, DH & I are news junkies. Have you ever watched Boston Legal after Desperate Housewives? Really a great show.
DalPal - I don't envy you the snow. We got out of Pennsylvania right in time! I'm in shorts today.....no tank top - it's only 72, so I'm wearing a t-shirt. I did wear jeans yesterday!
Cruisin - you are NOT old! Remember, I celebrated a birthday with you, so I consider myself an authority on the subject. We can't be old! Right?! Hope you enjoy your un-planned trip.
Wendy - how cool to hear from you! When I saw the e-mail that you had replied I told DH........remember we called her from the castle? He remembered who you were. Despite the fact DH isn't a Disney nut, I think he enjoyed himself more than he would admit. We're hoping to go to Epcot in January for our anniversary.
Kim - how you doing? I walked this morning, but forgot to post on the WISH board - I've got to head over that way. I had to cut the walk short to 2.25 miles after this UTI flared.....what a pain in the patootie! Do you have any WW recipes that you're using for the holidays? Any trial runs?
BP - where are you? Can we have another story? Are you.....oops..........I mean Santa planning your Jan/Feb/Mar holiday? Where are you.........oops......Santa planning to go? I need to know these things. I'm currently working on my Christmas trial run dinner since we started going out for Thanksgiving - you see where I get my theories?
