Hi Ann, I am so excited, can hardly wait. The weather here is really quite warm this week so it is getting me ready for my trip south. I keep telling Rick .....days left till we go and he keeps saying don't say that . Too much work to do and not enough time to do it in I guess. But I am excited

The weather seems to be hotter than normal but not sure what is normal since only been in Texas since Jan.
Was on the Florida panhandle before then. Glad I'm not there. The hurricanes waited for me to move before hitting.

Thanks! I know your grandson will be thrilled.
I hope 5 is a good age. That is the rule for us. We love to take our grandkids to Disney but they have to be at least five. I think that is the age that they can take being away from Mom and Dad without to much separation anxiety(sp?).
We will be away from home for 10 days. I am praying that they can go for that long.
Its not like we could run them home if they have to see Mom and Dad.
We will have a phone so they can call to talk to them. We took there older sisters a few years back and they were fine, but the youngest (almost 5 at the time) had the other two(7 & 9 at the time) on that trip.
These two will only have each other. ....and us.
Anyway we will see. Im sure they will be fine.....After all its Disney ...If anything can distract them from being homesick ...Its Disney world!

Morning SnowAngel...is got surprisingly warm, almost hot, here yesterday. I was surprised because it was quite chilly when I woke up. I didn't want to crawl out of bed!! Looks like it's going to be all rain the rest of this week, unless they changed the weather yet again. Must be nice being a weatherman...it's the only job that it's okay if you're wrong time and time and time again!!

SnowAngel - I'm afraid you'll have to go yourself. KimRaye (where IS she?) had a tough time recently and she pulled through just fine! I got my very first cavity just before my 40th birthday. I was SO bummed!

Hey Luckymommy! Hope you don't mind - but I love Favre! The packers won. I stayed up and watched the game. I don't do the fantasy football, but I love the commercials!

BP, sounds like you had a great time. If you met Santa, you've met Tom! I always tell everyone that I married Santa. He doesn't look like Santa, but he's sweet like santa and buys me presents! However (newsflash!) He's growing a beard for me. After it grows in, he'll cut it to a goatee - and it's coming in pure silver! So beautiful! Thanks for your wishes with Ivan. I think we'll be spared the worst and my sister who lives in Panama City is contemplating heading our way this weekend.

Speaking of Ivan, Cruisin - did you hear about Tropical Depression #11? It's supposed to be Tropical Storm Jeanne in the next 24 hours. Guess where it might be headin'? Yep! Florida. Just in time for our WDW trip. Man, I just can't get a break. If it's hitting our world, or WDW, I'll have to skip the trip for later. I'm hoping and praying for the best. We'll keep our eyes peeled!

Cruisin! You are SO great! I told BP that I married Santa, and I also accused him of being Santa. This is like a soap opera! I got caught up. Maybe there are two Santa's.....or three if BP met one this weekend?!

All I know is Tom's jolly, cute, is growing a white beard, makes me happy and buys me presents.....sounds like Santa to me! BrerPapa is good at spreading joy to good little girls and boys. BrerPapa also said he had a Santa sighting. That makes three!

Any more Santa sightings? Maybe there are more! Let us know. Like you, I am counting on good weather for our Disney rendezvous. If it is stormy, rainy or TS Jeanne is hanging around I will be one upset woman!

My DD is on my mind again. Since I talked to her teacher, 11 days ago, she hasn't sent a single extra thing home for DD to do. And she keeps sending home the same, 100% completed and correct, addition facts, which were done in less than 5 minutes. I've enrolled her in Brownies, meets about twice a month, and she'll start an art class this Friday, which meets every Friday. I don't know what else to do. I haven't come across any private music stuff yet, and her school music programs (hand bells) doesn't start until 3rd or 4th grade I think. I'm trying to just be patient for now, letting her enjoy all the free time she has, and let her play outside with the neighbors.

In a conversation with another Mom at school, she asked if DD had memorized her flash cards because she's so good at math, and I told her we didn't buy flash cards. She just picked it up easily. She then told me how she reads chapter books to her DD at bedtime, and I told her DD was reading the same books herself. She thinks I should have DD tested, but I'm highly reluctant to do that. sorry, I shouldn't have come here just to whine.

Good news! Work is going just fine. Barely saw my boss last week, and he's making up for it this week. He was in his usual unprofessional, silly mood today. Making me LOL just when someone I was calling would answer the phone. He's just plain silly, but it makes work FUN!

Robin, here's a poll idea that I'm personally interested in......Is 4 days notice enough for a kid's BD party? I hate to have DD miss a 'social occasion (LOL), but I don't even have time to get the kid a gift, let alone take her there for 2 hours. ugh, sorry, whining again.

Kim, you are welcome to whine here any time you want. What are friends for if not to listen to you whine occasionally.!!! Of course we missed you!!!!!!!!!!

Is your daughter complaining about school and being bored and wanting to learn more? It doesn't sound like the teacher is doing what she said that she would with regards to extra challenges for your daughter. Is there some kind of resource person at the school that you could talk with? It seems a shame to waste all of that learning potential that she has.
