Hi everyone! It's bed time for me. Gotta walk with hubby in the morning then volunteer for a couple of hours. Keeping a close eye on Ivan - my sister's in the path. Brave fool, she isn't leaving - if she came here, we could have another sister's weekend! She might actually come for the weekend, but not before.

Cruisin - we're pretty much the same about groceries, but I DO know ham hock prices - how weird is that?!

Kim, SO glad you posted. Best of luck with DD. Maybe you should make up school type assignments for small (non candy) type rewards. That way she'll know that learning is fun and rewarding. Just a thought.

Hey I really like your last poll suggestion I think it would make a great poll but I might have to shorten it. I will post it if you will let me/want me to. It might be an interesting one to do!! It would be fun to read the results.

I had a few ideas but none as good as that.

Robin, DD's original complaint was she was bored, and thought there'd be more work, in 1ST GRADE! I think the work is there, but it's not 'work' to her. It's a small private school, and I think after one more try with her teacher, I'll have to go right to the Principal. The 'special ed' teachers are there for kids who need help , but I think I'll ask anyway. Thanks Ann for the idea, but I may go broke with 'rewards'! LOL She wants school work, she says. It would work occasionally tho, especially when I see her enthusiasm lacking, due to non-challenging work. Thank you also, BP. Your comments were quite special to me. (I have not had time for private "brat" and "get-your-goat" lessons tho, from you-know-who, but it's a thought!)

I would just hate to move her from that school, she's so excited to have her cousin there this year. I'm also not especially fond of 'skipping' a grade.

I went to vote, but I couldn't! I would say June Cleaver or Mrs. Brady. My sister's nickname for me was Martha Stewart (BEFORE) the conviction! Anyway, I'll check back to see if I can vote again. Great poll!

I'm headed out to walk with hubby. I checked the weather and Tropical storm Jeanne is supposed to become a hurricane and took a slight westwardly turn. Florida is on the very edge.....east coast this time - hopefully it will go away - the timing of this is AWFUL Cruisin.....it will hit mid FL or NE FL right when we're set to go!

I had my typical morning argument with my daughter about being late for school. She hates it when I try to hurry her along, says .......... stop lecturing me!!!!!! But she still does not get to school on time!!!! Kids
