Hello! I was hoping to get some ideas from some people on the best way to sell points. I am still debating whether it is better to sell using a broker or try and do it yourself on TUG. I have read a few posts saying that commissions are negotiable to the brokers, and am wondering which brokers have the lowest commissions?
I would appreciate any advice on the best way to approach this...
Thanks for your help!

I don't know the current commissions for any of the brokers but it's unlikely that there is much room for negotiation with a broker and also unlikely to get below thier min commission even if they will budge at all. What's best depends but they are not mutually exclusive. MOST of the brokers that sell DVC do so non exclusively. That means you can do both and only owe a fee if they sell it. I think the lowest min I've seen is $995 for the ones that usually sell DVC but that could have changed. It also depends on how fast you want to sell. The fastest might be an auction like ebay or bidshares. Ultimately it comes down to how fast you want to sell and how actively involved you want to be in the process

Sorry, double post.

I just wanted to say that I purchased my resale through TUG and didn't have any problems. I actually enjoyed being able to deal directly with the sellers and feel that not having a third party involved is what sealed the deal as DVC was going to exercise ROFR on our first offer and we immediately made a counter-offer that was successful.

Dean, we recently bid on and won an e-Bayauction for 2 VWL contracts that were sold together. DH & I tracked this auction for the entire 30-day period and did not bid until there was literally less than 10 seconds left to bid! IMHO, this is a LONG time to wait for both the purchaser and the seller! Can the seller set up an auction with a shorter time frame than 30 days?

I don't recall the specific choices but you can set it up for less. Actually 30 days to sell is a pretty short period of time. I'd bet most people listed with the broker have been listed for more than that time. And you may be able to end your auction early if you get an offer before your reserve is met. It's been a while since I've done an ebay auction so the rules for bidshares is more in my mind.
