I am planning on booking V&A for my birthday next fall and am wondering which dining room I should book? It will be me, DH and DS (who will be 13 at the time and is looking forward to the experience). After reading the descriptions, I don't think we are interested in the Chef's Table, so that leaves the Main Dining Room and the Victoria dining room. Other than the number of tables in each room, is there that much of a difference in the meal and service? We do not drink alcohol if that factors into the equation at all. Thank you so much for your thoughts and advice!

I believe the difference is the length of the meal / number of courses.

You are committing to fewer courses in the Main Dining Room.

However, you may add plenty of extra courses, if that is your pleasure, while in the Main Dining Room (i.e., caviar, truffles, desserts, etc.).

Keep in mind, V & A does have some rules about young-diners, so please confirm this detail with them.

Alcohol is never a necessary component. Funny though, V&A has a Water Menu.

Thanks! Yes, I was looking at the water menu last night joking with DH that I was going to order the $120 bottle, LOL! My DS is above the age minimum of 10 for V&A, so no worries there. I think I'll just book the main dining room.

So when you book on the ADR engine, is that main dining room or Victoria Dining room? How do you differentiate?

The ADR system will specify it is for the Queen Victoria room. If it does not, it’s the main dining room.
