Which hotels have ducks in pool

We stayed at Wilderness Lodge in August for a week - we did not see a single duck in the pool or near the pool.

If there's water... they will come.
I don't think the ducks are more fond of one pool than another. They don't care if it's in the shape of a giant guitar, bowling pin or fishing hole. If you aren't concerned with swimming in a lake or ocean, there's really no reason to be concerned with swimming with a duck. With the high chlorine levels, the pools are much cleaner than any natural body of water.
If you see a duck doing it's business, move to another section of the pool. Just make sure there isn't a child, or adult, taking care of their own business!

You beat me to the punch, I was gonna say the same thing ;) For the record, there were ducks in the CR pool as well. But as the above post mentioned, I figured the chemicals in the pool help alot as far as killing bacteria. Wish i could say the same for all the lakes, ponds, seas, and oceans i've swam in.

And one other thought...for those who get grossed out about the ducks, have you swam in shark reef at typhoon lagoon? All the fish in there poo too :confused3

Back in May there were two ducks in the pool at CSR. We actually thought it was cute and everyone started taking pics. But honestly I didn't think about them pooping. Not sure how you'd keep them out. They flew in, took a 15 mt. swim and then left.

I agree, it's gross, but what can you do?

FTR, when we were at POFQ in June, I did not see a single duck in the pool.

We can attest to the "if there's water" statement. We live in Connecticut and we had ducks in our pool this summer!!! LOL

I saw ducks in Stormalong Bay when we stayed at the Yacht Club. It was in AM on the way to Epcot. I think they clear out when more people show up.

I have stayed at value, moderate, deluxe and DVC and have seen ducks IN EVERY pool at one time or another.I also have had them in my backyard pool in Pennsylvania..They fly, and they go where there is water.Hence one of the reason you chlorinate and shock the pools often

I have actually seen them walking around the pool area of the Contemporary and when I stayed at the Polynesian I always saw them going inside the pool during the evening.

I have seen them at WL, Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Beach and Yacht Club and Saratoga Springs and Polynesian. Pretty much any pool can have them. People feed them so they keep coming back.

I have never seen them in the pool when we have stayed at OKW. In the waterways and the marina yes. While sitting out on the balconey with my coffee in the am yes. The are usually walking across the golf course on the way to the water. But the pool no. That does not mean that they are not there though. Do you avoid swimming in the water when at the beach because of the fish also. I am not trying to flame you, just curious.

The Beach Club Villa pool and Stormalong bay both had ducks in May. I didn't see any ducks at BLT in Sept.

I've honestly never seen poo in the pools and every time I've seen a pool shut down (at stromalong bay) it's been due to baby diapers.

Same here.

I've seen many ducks in SAB, and have been there several times when it's been shut down for a "Code Brown" :scared1:.....the "Code Brown" was always from people, not the ducks.

We stayed at Wilderness Lodge in August for a week - we did not see a single duck in the pool or near the pool.

I was just about to say the same thing too! We saw them once the August before, but not this past trip. I wonder if they are more apt to be at the WL or pools with more trees/shrubs around than the pools without. For the record, we've stayed at the All Stars dozens of times and have never seen ducks there.

Oh no...the duck thread is back!!!!

:lmao:

Two things:

Ducks are naturally occurring and therefore randomly placed...disney doesn't assign them from the timeclock each morning

You are covered in virus, bacteria, and mold from the day you are born until the day you die...and you used to pee yourself and sit in it...and you might again someday in the future...
so grow up. its a duck and its not going to hurt you to be around them...and you're not that clean anyway (not nearly as much as you think)

I don't mind them. After all, we humans can be pretty dirty and disgusting too- more than one kid or adult has peed in that pool and told no one. Don't even get me started on hot tubs.

So, for me a little duck poo is nothing.:)

Just want to second this post. Your giving humans way too much credit if you think we are any cleaner.

Are we sure they aren't animatronic ducks? It is, after all Disney World!

Values actually tend to have less ducks during the day...

Of course since they have one pool and it's often PACKED with kids that could be the reason....

(And my bets on Ducks being "cleaner" then those kids :lmao:)

The only place I have seen ducks in the pool was at the Poly, not the volcano pool but the quiet pool

I will take a duck in the pool with me anyday over little Johnnie without a swim diaper. ;)

Seriously, there are so many chemicals in those pools, I am surprised it doesn't turn the ducks different colors like they do a lot of swimsuits.
