Where to find Water Misters (like the ones in WDW but for less $$)

I would love to buy the water misters like they have in WDW but don't want to spend $17. However, the ones I've seen at Wal-Mart are really cheap, no lanyard, or just a fan with no water, etc.

Where have you gotten a good-quality water mister/fan for less than $17? (or should I just wait and buy at WDW?)

Thanks!

Last year I bought several of the fans with the mist squirters at Wal Mart for like 2.00 each......they were smaller and came with a strap.
However, I bought a misty mate from Walgreens this year. You fill it with water strap it to your belt or bag and it makes a nice mist with a pump - you will never need batteries. It is about the size of a 16oz can. I take it to the park empty and fill it with ice water from a restaurant for the afternoon. You can mist your entire family. It was about 8bucks.

I'm looking for misting fans, too. I found some at oriental trading company - 12 for $20.

Maybe they will be too cheap to rely on... but I don't want to have something too big or heavy because I know I won't want to carry it. Am I nuts for wanting to buy them?

I don't need 12, either. I've seen some on ebay though so I might be able to sell the extras or find someone here to go in on a set with.

I bought two at WalMart the other day, that say "O2Cool" on them. I think they were about $6 a piece... which is still better than Disney! But you need AA batteries for them...

We got one at Five Below. It is yellow with a blue fan. We also have the 17 Disney one. Honestly, the Five Below one leaks (alot). I think you may be better off with the expensive one. You know the quality is good and they will replace it if it breaks. They already replaced ours once. Have fun!!!

I recently bought a 3-pack of misty mates for $14.99 at BJ's :thumbsup2

Can someone please post a picture of what a misty mate looks like? I googled it, and it wasn't what I expected, so maybe I'm looking at the wrong thing:confused3

I bought a fan/mister from Target the other day from TARGET for $7.99. It is great since it has a lanyard and also a wide mouth to put ice cubes inside.

Then I went to BJ's and bought these really cool spray misters that are supposed to make the air feel up to 20 degrees cooler around you..NO BATTERIES NEEDED :) You fill the mister, pump the bottom 15 times and then push the button for the spray mist..It works AWESOME...they were 3 in a pack for $15.99. They only had a few left at my location (I am a front end supervisor there) and am glad I picked them up as they'll work perfect in WDW to keep in the backpack.

I just read up and the Misty Mate is what another poster mentioned...here is their web site: http://www.mistymate.com/cb02.html I am sure you can get it elsewhere cheaper since online they are 2 for $25 for the 2.5 oz

Man, those are funky looking lol! Would they work better than say the battery powered ones at walmart that have a spray bottle and a fan?

they are smaller than you think :) these work really well, they give you a light mist. my son keeps his full and uses it all the time..even in the house, lol. he says theyre better than the misty fans ;) they are also still light when filled with water, so they don't weigh you down :thumbsup2 no extra weight from baterries either :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I used a different kind of MistyMate. It is still an actual TM'ed Misty Mate Pump and I got it at Wal Mart for less than $20 (it's been more than a year ago and I think it was about $14.99. The website sells for a higher price than the discount stores). Mine held 24 oz so you don't have to stop and fill it up very often and it has a strap so you can attach it to your belt or backpack or even wear it around your waist and a clip if you want to clip it to your shirt. You can adjust the amount of mist you want too!

This is the website so you can see all the available ones. I. too am a HUGE MistyMate fan. It got me thru a scorching June Disney World trip last year. It is freakin' wonderful!! So light and so efficient! Sometimes, my DH would walk about 2 feet in front of me and hold the mister up and I would walk into the mist. Ahh, delightful! I would not go to WDW without it now. Love that MistyMate!!

We got a very similar fan mister from Walgreens for about $8.

Thank you everyone for your help here. I did go to Wal-greens but they didn't have any of them....will have to try them again.

I like the Misty Mates since they are pretty small and will be one less thing to carry.

Thanks again!

I just bought the Water Misting Fan from O2 Cool at Target for $8. However, I am returning it today.

Since my DD is also fascinated by this, I need one that she can use, too. This one has open fan blades (prob they all do) and when I turned around, the fan got caught in her hair. No damage but she wasn't happy.

I also saw one at Sharper Image on sale for $12.95 but for anyone considering this, listen to it. The motor is quite loud and annoying.

After checking countless stores for the misty fans, I finally find them at Eckerd drug store. They originally costs $10 but it was on sale for $7.50. It runs on batteries and a bit bulky and it has a strap to carry over your shoulder but it's so worth it! I plan on filling them with ice in the mornings before we go out to the parks.

I was at disney a couple of years ago in July and I swear I never been so hot in my life. I finally broke down and bought disney's misty fan for $20 and felt so relieved. I vowed I would NEVER go to disney without them again.
