Where to find a Gingerbread House Kit???

I don't know why I didn't think about this earlier; my mom has a private day care and does this with the kids every year.

She uses the graham crackers and royal icing that someone else mentioned. She gets gum drops, M&Ms, licorice, etc. and lets the kids decorate the houses using the icing. Typically, we'd put them all together the night before they decorate them so they'll be dry and sturdy by the next morning.

And, even though it's not real gingerbread, you can actually eat these. They're pretty tasty; at least, that's what I've been told. :lmao:

I bought our houses at Target this year. Got them on sale for $8 each and they come with a tray for assembling them - no need to pull all the soup and veggie cans out of the cabinets!

The best one I ever bought was about 11 or 12 years ago. It was an M&M/Mars house - cardboard shaped house, icing mix and tons of candy to decorate with. Good candy. Snickers. Milky Way. Stuff like that. Best house ever! And a lot of it got eaten. :thumbsup2 Never did see a house like that again, though. :sad1:

DH (yes you read that right... ) has been pestering me for the past 3 years to get a gingerbread house kit with full intention of eating it on Christmas. I guess he has always wanted to do this since he was a kid...I dunno :) . Anyways, I haven't really ventured into any stores yet this season (thank you online shopping!) and want to take him out Saturday to pick one up. Instead of wasting gas and driving around everywhere, anyone have some ideas of where to look or where they've seen them for sale? We'd like a kit so he can "build" it himself. :santa:

I get DD a GB house every year from Walmart or another store that has them cheap! We NEVER eat it is just decor! They sit out to long to eat them for me! If i were to make it Christmas Eve than OK...But weeks in advance I would not let my family eat it!! JMO
