Does anyone know a good place to print out bridal invitation from a high resolution digital file. I want them on the same kind of paper that a greeting card is on.:artist:

I was in printing in my previous career, so have a couple of suggestions. I would call around a couple of quick print type shops (Sir Speedy, Intl Minute Press etc.) and make sure their machines can handle 100# cover stock (thats what you want to specifiy to get greeting card type stock) as some of the new digital printers jam on anything over 80#, which is a little flimsy. The high resolution part shouldn't be an issue for any of the machines currently on the market. If the image is a photograph, you might want to ask them how good their machine is on Delta E. Which is a trade term of holding the color consistent from one sheet to the next, some of the machines will vary pretty much from one sheet to the next on the shading of the image. Also want to make sure they are able to score the cover stock for you, and that they know to run the paper in the right grain direction, so that when you go to fold it on the score, it folds smoothly and doesn't wrinkle. Or possibly have them fold for you on their mechanical folding machine. I may have overwhelmed with information, but hopefully some of it is useful.

Thank you very much! Your information is very useful. The invitation is going to be 5 x 7 flat and no photo. It has a bridal dress with a colored bouquet and the writing is around it. I just didn't want it printed on photo type paper. I did call Kinkos and they wanted $65 with no envelopes for 75 of them. I was hoping for a better price. I will call around tomorrow. Thanks again!:thumbsup2

I recently used Vistaprint for some invitations and they came out great! Great quality paper and great colors. I did not use my own high resolution file, just one of their designs, but I have heard good things from people who have done photo products with them.

Thanks! I will add vista print to my list to check out tomorrow. I have got business cards from them before and they were great! :)

Is Kinko's quoting "2-up on a page" or are they doing "1-up" on a page. 2-5x7's will fit on 1 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper, and then they should be able to cut them with their "big cutter thing".

Check out nextdayflyers.com, too -- I find their quality to be way better than Vistaprint, and I use them for postcards and other print piece all the time.

It sounds as if the file is already made and so could be 1-up already. Kinkos and most other places would charge to change the file from 1-up to 2-up which would, in some cases, negate the cost of just running it as is, 1-up.

That Kinkos price was for 1 per sheet. I didn't have the file made yet, so that is a good idea, having it made so I can print 2 invitations off 1 sheet of paper. I saw the invitation on ebay and the girl charges $9.50 to set it up and email the file to me. Its her design and its really different. Thanks everyone for all your suggestions. I will do some research today!:)

At work, we use this printer and have had great results. They are fast, colors look great, and paper stock is very good. There's the option for coated or matte finish. Prices are very reasonable, though we print higher quantity than 65.
