Where Are The Pictures???

Hi All---I have decided to post my before and "afters", though it is not the final "after" photo as I still have about 10-12 pounds to go. (And since I am short, that is truly a noticeable amount of weight.)

I've put on about 10 pounds since the marathon in January but it's coming back off now that I am training for the Goofy!

10 lbs is not a big task when you've lost 95!! WOW!!:faint:

You really look fantastic. I cannot believe you are the same woman as in the "before" pictures... What was your method for success? Did you follow any particular plan? How long have you kept it off?

You a truly an inspiration! I weighed almost the exact same as you "before" and my "goal weight" is about 165. Only 22 lbs to go!

Thanks for the pictures!!!!

For the most part .....I did weight watchers points on my own (no meetings.....I don't like to broadcast myself around....plus it costs mucho deniro). I started walking every day for an hour. Then I got interested.....found John Bingham's book......and started training for a half marathon (not an actual race....just the distance....I did it at a park behind my house). I started in January 2005 and lost about 75 pounds by August. I started back losing more weight in September of 2006 and lost the last 20-25 by about February of 2007(went to meetings during this span of time.....but left due to the leader suggesting that we use laxatives after a holiday meal). In March of 2007 i did the Ing Georgia Half Marathon. I successfully  kept it off until the Marathon this year.....and then I gained about 10 pounds....but it's all good.::yes:: I continue to try to stay active most days of the week (training for the Goofy) and adhere to my points.

This thread is so great! A visit here tonight has kept me from going to the kitchen for a snack... :rolleyes1

Great job, all of you! You ladies and gent...really are inspiring.

I did WW in 2005 and lost 30 lbs. It was not all that I needed to lose, but it made a huge difference. I went off the plan and ended up back where I started, +15 lbs. this winter. It did come back slowly, but surely..it did. I rejoined WW a week and a half ago (after trying to do it on my own, unsuccessfully) and I'm looking forward to weigh in on Wednesday. I lost 2.6 my first week, hoping for another 2 this week. That being said, I don't get stuck in the numbers too much. Any loss is a good loss and is one more step towards my 10%. But I've found that the meetings help me A LOT, and it helps when you have a fantastic leader! :thumbsup2

Anyway, keep up the good work and great health! I look forward to more pics...and I can't WAIT to post some of mine when I have some noticeable loss to report! :goodvibes

OMG> I would have left too. I can't believe this...

I've never heard ANYTHING like that in 18 months of meetings...

Great job with your weight loss... You really look FANTASTIC!!

I just have to say...

THANK YOU!

The inspiration I find here is just the thing I need.

Congratulations to all those successful people.

To the rest of us...

We can do it!

:cheer2:

What great success stories ya'll have. I have recently became very conscious of my wanting to lose wait.

Here's my story. When I met my DH 12 yrs ago I was a size 5-7, then after three kids ended up being a 16 at my heaviest. I have always wanted to lose weight, but gosh darn it, I love food way to much.

Well almost two years ago I transferred from my job at the beach in Corpus Christi to a very remote desert envirnoment were the nearst grocery store and McD's is 1.5 hrs away. That has really cut down on those quick trips to a fast food place or binge shopping at the grocery store. We now eat planned dinners every night at home. Well, I have really dropped the weight and now wear a size 10 (I want to be a size 8). I do not own a scale, but the when I had a physical for work in March I weight 150. I am 5'3" so my ideal weight is 130-135.

What has really got me wanting to reach my goal is that people are starting to comment on my weight loss. Just yesterday, I was having a conversation at work and my co-worker stopped mid sentence to complement me on my weight loss. Made me feel really great. Well sorry to ramble on. Ya'll have really inspired me.

CEPMOM do you mind if I use your idea of walking to the world?

WELCOME!!!

Thanks again for posting and visit again soon!

Thanks! Yes, I work out ALL the time. That is what I do more than anything else. I watch what I eat and choose carefully, but that is about it. Mostly, it is just exercise. In order to take off these last few pounds, though, I am really going to have to start tracking my food and counting calories, etc. I work out on average about 1.5 hours/day 6 days/week. Here is somewhat of a breakdown:

Mondays =

Morning: run 5 miles, 30 minutes weight train/core work-out
Evening: tennis, 90 minutes

Tuesdays:

Morning: run 4 miles, 30 minutes strength train/core work-out
Optional: 12 mile bike ride

Wednesdays:

Morning: 15 mile bike ride
Evening: 30 minute cardio boxing class

Thursday:

This is my long run day. Currently 8 miles (with warm-up, cool-down, etc. it takes 90 minutes). I don't do anything else.

Friday:

Morning: 30 minute boxing class, 30 minute strength train/core work-out
Afternoon: 60 minutes of tennis
optional: bike ride

Saturday:

Morning: 3 mile run (tempo or speed work)

Sunday: off

Wow.

I am feeling REALLY inadequate as a person right now...

I don't have 90 minutes a day... Are you using a time-turner?

Needless to say, I am impressed. All your hard work is certainly paying off!!!:cheer2:

I'm lurking here, but "WOW" I must commend you on your dedication. I try to workout 5 days a week(45-60 min.), but with a full time job, housework and trying to make time with DH on the weekend......I just can't squeeze in much more. Good job, you look great!:thumbsup2

I love this idea! I am "restarting" WW today. I posted my pictures on my journal, but will post them here too:

Here is a "before" picture, this was taken this past Spring Break at WDW (of course).

n36106886_32058060_2619.jpg

I used to work entertainment at WDW and plan to one day go back (teach full time work entertainment part time). I know that at my current weight I probably couldn't do it, so it is not just my Master's that is motivating me, but the prospect of going back down and being able to perform again one day. Seeing some of my "good friends" like Donald Duck just increases that motivation .

These are pictures of my last CP when I was much closer to my goal than I am now, they were taken when I weighed around 120. One is me with my "good friend" Mickey, the other is a picture of me as a Santa Girl for the Happy HollyDays Parade at what was then known as Disney MGM Studios.

Thank you so much for starting this thread! You all look great! I am now fully inspired! :yay:

As I mentioned on another thread, I have gained over 40 pounds in the four years since getting married (and also turning 30) and about 60 pounds since meeting my DS (8 years ago).

I'll be posting pics as soon as I can see a difference! Thanks again! :)

More great before and after pics....thanks to all for sharing their pictures, stories and current journey with all of us. We all need each other for the inspiration and motivation to be a success!

Onward and downward!

2nd pic taken 7/18 (55 pounds lighter), 3rd pic taken 12/08 (70lb total loss)

I started my lifestyle change February 5, 2008. I never really thought I was as big as I really was, but I knew that I needed to be more healthy. I have had several motivators, my mothers death being my main reason for a desire to be more healthy. I have two children (dd-6 and ds-4) and although I knew they loved and accepted me for who I was, I didn't want them to feel bad or embarrassed because of the way I looked. I have been counting calories and it is working for me. This is the first time I have lost more than 15 pounds and it feels great! I have 29 more pounds to go to my ultimate goal! I have been a long time lurker of the dis and an infrequent poster. I just wanted to add to the picture thread b/c it has been a big inspiration to me!

PS. You'll also see a before in my siggy pic.

Melissa, you look GREAT!! And I LOVE that dress.

You also look familiar... where in NC are you?
