Well I am a work in progress too but I've lost around 20lbs so I'll toss in a before and after. I am really motivated right now and am doing the Biggest Loser Challenge on here so in about 3 months I'll add another after. :cool1:

Here is me at my heaviest (Not pregnant heaviest..my highest weight was 236lbs but I was pregnant with my daughter so that probably doesn't count)

At my wedding I was around 220lbs. I'll post 2.

I still have about 50 lbs left to lose... But its a lot closer to my goal than I was. :woohoo:

I'm your 'before'! (Well, minus the kids. ;) ) While all the pics have been great motivation and I've loved hearing from everybody, yours seriously gave me a jolt. I've never met another female 6 footer! And it's so hard to guage when little women say they're heavy and yet when they post their actual numbers they weigh so much less than I do. It always makes me feel worse.

I know exactly how you feel! At 6' tall, my GOAL is to be at/under about 180 pounds!! That still sounds like a really high number compared to others. . .however, when you look at BMI, that's just where we need to be! I keep reminding myself that the weight is just a number on the scale--the sizes I'm dropping, my BMI and how I feel are all better indicators of how I'm doing! (Still wanna get under that 200 pound mark, though!)

I do not have any "older" pix of me on this computer.

I was 128 the day I got married, and for the first time since (9+ years!) I am back to it, and now even below that weight!

I got up to as much as 179 three days before I gave birth to my 3rd child. (WHo was nearly 9 pounds).

THis is where I "thought" I wanted to be

Disney2007.jpg

I was happy to be around 137 pounds.

Then in March I got what can only be described as "Death flu" and lost another 11 pounds. THis was me 2 months after that...

And now thanks to eating right and getting the Wii Fit (LOL) I am 10 pounds less than that and oh so very much toned!!

UM my 7 YO took the pix. LOL!

Having a tan helps, too LOL!

Wow!! Congradulations!! You looked great before but now you look so fantastic!!

I lost 40 pounds and working so hard to get abs like you or close to it.;) I've always had a tummy problem even before the weight gain from having my kids.

Thank you guys soo much!!Seeing all the beautiful people on this thread helped me to be brave and post mine..
now if I could just get out of this slump and work on the rest that needs to be lost

You are all amazing people and I am so encouraged by your photos. Keep up the great work. You help keep so many of us encouraged.
:cheer2:

Wow! You guys are soooo inspiring. I had tears in my eyes looking at your photos and reading your stories.

I started ww on-line about 5 weeks ago. I'm down 15lbs. I'm 5'6" and started at 227.5. I'm down to 212 today. Not much of a noticable difference yet, clothes just starting to loosen up. My goal is to get to 160.

A friend was working on a photo slide show yesterday and I saw photos of me over the past 3 years. Somehow its easy not to notice how big I've become, but seeing the photos was startling. And I was probably smaller than I am now in those photos! Anyway...its sort of inspiring to NOT look like that in photos any more!

Thanks for your inspiration!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Katy

Wow!! This thread has been BUSY!

All you new posters... YOU guys are why I started this thread!! YOU ALL LOOK FABULOUS!!!

Thanks for joining our little thread... I guess I need to post some new ones, too... I'm down about 18 lbs more since the pictures I posted on page 1!!!

Thanks everyone for posting your successes. I am so proud to be a member of this thread and on the WISH boards!!

Ms. H (Janis)

p.s. I just uploaded a new picture on page 1 from this past weekend!!

I added a new pic to my post on page 7 post #99. It was taken for family C'mas pics in December 2008 and it shows a total of 70 pound weight loss.

What the heck, I'll jump in here too.

Here is a visual history of my progress.

f_Progressm_0213e9a.jpg

240 was my highest weight (I was that weight for about a year in 2003-2004). Then I managed to lose 25 pounds (and one jacket size) to hit 215 before my wedding in August 2005. I basically took all of 2006 off, and in 2007 I was still 215 when I restarted my efforts. I started 2008 around 180, and am now around 162. I was in the 155 range late last year, but gained about 10 of it back over the holidays.

1. How has your weight loss (so far) affected your life?
More ways than I can count.
- I don't hate shopping for clothes anymore.
- I'm no longer self conscious that people are staring at me and laughing at me behind my back.
- I have more energy than I ever thought possible.
- I have tons more self confidence than at any other point in my life.
- I learned to love myself again.
- I can climb a flight of stairs and still talk normally (no huffing and puffing) afterwards.
- I don't have to chomp on Tums every night to calm heartburn.
- I can sleep without having an aching back in the morning.

Plus, when I see people I haven't seen in a while, I always get told that they don't recognize me, which is a little strange for some reason.

And the list just goes on and on.

2. How have you managed to stay motivated?
Honestly, I'm just scared to death of putting the weight back on. And as morbid as it sounds, I'm also terrified of dying young. That's the other thing that keeps me going.

3. If you choose to share, HOW have you achieved your success?
Weight Watchers. First online, then just following the plan on my own. Plus, as much as I HATE exercising (I can be a real lazy SOB), I try to get at least 45-60 minutes of exercise a night. During the summer that is usually taking my dog for a nice long walk or a slightly shorter jog. But I'm also getting into a good resistance training routine to go along with the various exercise tapes/DVD's that I've accumulated.

4. If you choose to share, what is your current loss to date?
Around 80 pounds since I first started sometime in 2005.

ETA: I'd be remiss if I didn't add that I've been aided greatly by the DISappearing Peeps. They've always been there to pick me back up when I've stumbled, and to offer advice and support when needed. So I doubt I would have had as much success as I've had without them.

I added a new progress picture on page 1.

Thanks to everyone who has posted!

Thanks for keeping this thread alive.
