..to post available points. Does it make a difference if you rent or transfer?
I have a March use year (new member). I have used 46 points out of 150 in 2002 and banked the remaining 104. I have used 46 points out of 150 from 2003. Both for a Feb/Mar 03 ressie. I plan to book a vacation for Nov 2003 as well, using another 100 or so points. That would leave at least another 100 left from 2003 that would have to be used or banked by August 03 (right?). So when would be a good time to list those points? I'm rather confused having to think so far ahead!:(

If I understand this, you have banked 104 points from March 2002 into your next use year which begns March 2003. You also have 104 points that begin March 2003, so that 208 points are available for your use from March 2003 and ending February 29, 2004. So, assuming you use your banked points for the November 03 ressie, that leaves you as you said, around 100 points that could be used until the end of Feb. of 2004. You should call and ask Member Services for the exact booking window but I think you can bank 100% of your use year points 6 months away from the end of your use year, 75% 5 months away from the end of your use year and 50% 3 months prior to the end of your use year. So, since you're thinking of banking 100 points, you should be looking at banking those close to 5 months prior to the end of February of 2004.

You can't transfer banked or borrowed points.

The earlier you decide to rent points prior to their expiration, the more opportunity you have to find the "right" renter and establish your terms and find availability at the DVC.

Ask Doc or Dean for their thoughts.
