Trying to plan our next trip and looking at Sept, Oct Nov. We just got back last week and although I loved being there for the holiday decorations and festivities, it was too dang cold for me. I'd like to go when I can be reasonably sure of "good" weather - not too hot, not rainy and lower crowds ( isn't this what everyone wants, lol!) Any advice?

Thanks!

Usually ends around mid to late September. Although, there are exceptions. We like to go in early October, and we rarely have problems with bad weather at that time of year.

Crowds are manageable, also.

Hurricane season starts in June, and ends November 30.

ETA: It's not August, but June! You'd think I'd know that by now

Officially hurricane season is June 1 - November 30th although the peak months are Aug - Oct. May was nice and hot (mid 80s) but not overly crowded - you might look into a mid-May trip instead of a fall trip.

The "offical" season is from March to November... I don't have the exact dates. But here in S.Carolina we get told each and every local news broadcast that we either are in hurricane season, or it is just a few weeks away...
It hasn't seemed to get really busy till July for the last few years. There are, however, allways exceptions to that. So if possible get Trip Insurance! Storms have become more and more unprodictable the last few years.
We have gone down in May-June the last few years, and it was usually very warm, and rainy. And we have gone down in Oct for Food and Wine the last few years. Nice and warm, but we did dodge the Hurricanes.
Also check the National Weather Service site for past and this year prodictions on the number of Hurricanes. It will also tell you when the hit/where.
Best of luck!

Officially it's 6/1 to 11/30 but the most activity is Aug, Sept, Oct. There was one at the end of October this year where the parks were closed for at least part of the day(Wilma).

With the LONG hurricane season this year, there were named storms well into November, and I think, even December. Unfortunately for us planners, you just never know what the weather will be like in Florida. I can remember going to Daytona Beach and swimming in January, it was in the high 70's. We were there last week, and it was colder at night in Orlando than it was in Pennsylvania :cold: . We were very unhappy about that cold snap.

We went to the CP on Dec 22 and we were pretty bundled up! I even had handwarmers in my gloves! I am leaning towards early Oct or right after Thanksgiving to stay in value season, have warmer weather and hopefully less rain!
