When is Carousel of Progress in operation?

On our last three trips to WDW (all at different times of the year) the Carousel of Progress has been closed (seasonal operation) - does anyone know when it is open?

If I'm not mistaken, it is open for the summer until Labor Day from about 10m-8pm.

COP is only open at most busy times of the year now it seems. So I would guess Thanksgiving week will next time it will be open.It's one of my favorites and its been a number of years since I've seen it also.We go first part of December and it is not open then for last several years.

Thanks, we are going Thanksgiving week so hopefully it will be open. My children have not seen it since they were very small and I would like them to see it this year. It is one of my favorites also.

We came back from WDW a week ago and it was posted - I think on the park maps (or the flyer that comes with it) that COP is open until mid August - 15th I think - unless they extend this.

Why do they shut it down? It is such a nice attraction. And it is certainly less boring and more entertaining than HOP!

We were down last August, the weekend before Labor Day and COP was already closed. I don't have much hope for this Labor Day weekend, well unless they know MK will be awfully busy and will run it?
Anyone know if it was open last Labor Day weekend?

the info that i had was that COP closes for the summer on August 16th. I hope this is correct and not the 15th as pigby mentioned. I am hauling butt from PA two days early to try and get there to see this before it closes. Would leave an extra day earlier to be there on the 15th to catch COP, but DH can't get one more day off work.

Keeping our fingers crossed that we get to see it (over and over again) on the 16th.

When you say Thanksgiving week are you also considering the 3 days prior to Thanksgiving or just Thanksgiving and the weekend after? I ask because we will be there until 11/25-leaving 2 days prior to Thanksgiving. I remember this attraction from my childhood and would so love to see it again!

If they have to close one to save $$ why don't they do a poll of guests and ask which one they would rather see open only "seasonally"?

I heard that the last day of operation is the 14th.

Carousel of Progress was open on Thanksgiving Day and I guess for the weekend only last November.

It was NOT open any days prior to T-Day.

We were kind of prodded into a special trip to MK on Thanksgiving morning knowing it would be open that day. My whole family loves it! As for me, I saw it at the New York World's Fair back in the '60s. Loved it then, love it now!

When does COP open for the summer? Is it Memorial Day weekend or (hopefully) the week before?

We discovered this ride on our last night - we didn't think the description sounded exciting so we kept skipping over it. It turned out to be one of our favorite rides!

There's a great big beautiful tomorrow...shining at the end of every day! Gotta love that song.
