What's your favorite breed of dog?

I love all sorts of dogs. We currently have a basset hound, dachsund, and a corgi-mix. The basset is the best overall. He just has the sweetest personality and he's definitely NOT hyper!:lmao:

This is the 3rd dachsund we've owned. She is sweet. They are terribly protective and tend to get very attached to one particular family member. We lost our 2nd dachsund 2 1/2 years ago (we had her for 11 years) and I still cry when I think about her.

The corgi-mix is a rescue and he is absolutely adorable. He was pretty badly abused, so he is very shy and hesitant with new people, but he loves everyone he knows. Very smart and well behaved.

I have had many, many dogs during my lifetime. We have always lived in the country and had plenty of room, so we have always had at least 3 dogs at any one time. Most of them were mutts and we loved them all. They were all special in their own way.

I love all dogs, but my favorite breed is Yorkshire Terriers. (Please don't tell my dog, who is a Jack Russell Terrier! ).

Breeds I have owned are:

Jack Russell Terrier
Lhasa Apso
Lhasa-Poo (Lhasa Apso and Miniature Poodle)
Yorkshire Terrier (I've had 2)
Cocker Spaniel
Beagle
A very lovable Mutt

AHEM!
May I have your attention please?

I have a little song to sing:

Terriers, my favourite type of breed
Cute and cuddly, easy dogs to feed
Terriers
pick you up
when you are down,
Terriers
average 20 pounds!

Go Terry
Go Terry
Go Terrierrrrr! (From "Kids in the Hall", as performed by Dave McCulloch)

I love West Highland White Terriers, and since we have one, I get to sing that song ALL the time, much to the mortification of my children. I love her personality, her temperment, the fact that she doesn't shed. They are such intelligent dogs. Her name is Suzy, but I should have named her Mary Poppins because she is "practically perfect in every way!"

Also really love Rottweillers. We lost our beautiful boy about 12 yrs ago. I still miss him. (But I don't miss the hair or the horse size "doggy treats" we had to clean up!)

ETA: I just went to youtube and searched "Kids In the Hall Terriers" and found the video. Turns out that I've been singing it wrong all these years! Oh well, I like my (slightly altered) version better. Check out the video if you want a laugh.

I love our miniature schnauzers! No hair (don't shed I mean) and tons of personality - we are particularly partial to the white ones! I have two!

Jenny:)

We're another family partial to MIniature Schnauzers. We've had three. Minnie is our current princess and a joy to have around. :thumbsup2

Breeds I've owned:
Cocker Spaniel
Pekingese
Welsh Corgi (Pembroke)
St. Bernard
German Shepherd
Basset Hound
Catahula Cowdog
Border Collie
Dalmation
Golden Retriever
Labrador Retriever

My favorite breeds are Welsh Corgis and Labs. My Corgis and my Lab were my smartest dogs and also the most eager to please. They were easy to train and loyal companions.

We have had a few dogs.
1. Dalmation (never again) She now lives with my Dad because she HATED my DD.
2. **** zu. Was dognapped.
3. Our golden we have now. We have had him since he was 6 weeks and he is now 9 years old.
4. Our pomeranian who is 1 now.
Our favorite is hands down the Golden Retriever. Here they are at Christmas

My favorite:

Golden Retriever
Beagle
Husky

We have a 5 year old Golden Retriever named Colby who is just a big mush. Very much a typical Golden. We have to keep him shaved, I am highly allergic to him. But, he looks all Golden in the face. :lovestruc

We also have a Pug/Beagle mix (Puggle) that turned 1 today. Great puppy and absolutely adorable!! He seems to lean more to the Beagle side. Great addition to our family and Colby just loves him.

I have owned a whole bunch of dogs covering many breeds, but I have never owned either of my two favorite breeds.... Bernese Mountain Dogs or Neapolitan Mastiffs.
.

My favorite breed is a Neapolitan Mastiff and a Dogue de Bordeaux. I have one of each and will always be owned by these breeds.;)

I have owned:
Pug
Golden Retriever (have now)
Poodle
Choc. Labs (have 2 now, & my least favorite of the bunch)
beagle
Yorkie (now, #1 favorite)
Great Pyrenees (now, my #1.5 favorite)

I have 2 favorites and my Yorkie would have to rate as my top favorite and then my Great Pyrenees is a very close second.

My very least favorite of this list is the Labs. I will never own another lab.

Those are so cool looking! But I would be afraid of the rquired grooming! :scared1:

The cords form themselves. After they are completely formed, there is no shedding, no brushing. Just regular bathing. Not that bad at all.

The necessary socialization they need can take some work though.

I love them all.:wizard:

Right now I have a Golden Retriever/Border Collie mix and a Golden Retriever/Terrier(??) mix.

My favorite is a Beagle. I got one at 6wks and had her til she was almost 3 and had to have her put down due to illness.:sad1: When I was ready to get another dog, I couldn't bring myself to get another beagle. I got her polar opposite-a Jack Russell/Rat Terrier.
others I've had:
cocker spaniel
black lab
german shepherd

Let's hear it for the Greyhounds. The worlds largest couch potatos.

They just take their retirement very seriously.

I've had:
mutt (dachshund/fox terrier)
Norweigan Elkhounds
more mutts (lab mixes)
and Greyhounds.

Have a Greyt day.

I love big dogs:

Alaskan Malamutes (currently have 2 and just had to say goodbye last month to our third beautiful Mal Misha :sad1: )
Great Pyrenees
Newfoundland

I also would love a Golden Retriever or a Bernese Mtn dog but was told Berners only live 7-9 years!!

Here's our 143 pound male Sholow (as someone said earlier he could be mistaken for a rug somedays ;) :

And our baby girl Sierra:

Sorry 'bout the sizes I'm just not good at all the picture sizing stuff!

The Komondor

I currently have 2

**

**Not my dogs. Although my dogs are direct descendents of the dog on the rock. The kom jumping was actually an album cover for Beck.

I will always have a Komondor. But if I wanted to change things up and add another dog, it would be either a Bergamasco or a Black Russian Terrier.

Beautiful dogs. Are they like puli's? Also your dogs appear much prettier than a puli. What is their personality like?
