What's your favorite breed of dog?

Well, since I own two . . .Yorkies are my favorite breed of dog!:)

Actually, they are like my second set of kids . . .No matter what anyone says, the yippie ankle biter rumors are all false!;)

I have had the following dogs in my adult life:

Labrador retrievers (4)
Shar Pei
Newfoundland
Mutt
Bernese Mountain Dog (2)

At the present we have one Berner and the mutt. Bernese Mountain Dogs are the sweetest, nicest, friendliest, best dog I have ever had. I will always have one, the first one I had broke my heart more than any other when I lost her. The breed has it's drawbacks, but they are so worth it. Just out of curiosity I googled, "Bernese Mountain Dog attacks" to see what would come up. A bunch of gobbledegook came up, and there was ONE link to a Bernese Mountain Dog Attack...it was a video of two idiots with a Berner on a leash with a muzzle, one was taunting and teasing it to get it to lunge while the other Bozo held the dog's leash. In other words, they might attack if you really, really work at it. They are great with kids, their only problem there is that they grow BIG really FAST and they are kinda clumsy, so they can knock children and short adults (ME) down pretty easily..

LOVE THEM!!!

Look at my Zoey below...how could you NOT love her??:lovestruc

shepherd and collie mix. like the above poster said the mix is a great dog.
our beagle was a sweet natured dog and our toy poodle was really smart.

It's an old photo, but that's Walt. He's a Border Collie, and I don't have any photos of Roy, our Beagle. Best dogs I've ever had, we love them to pieces.

We've had Collie/Shepard mixes - twice now. Love them. They're wonderful family dogs. We also now have a Lab/Bermese Mountain dog and I have to say, even though he is at the 120lb mark, he is the most gentle, loving, sweetest dog we've ever had. He tends to be a bit emotional; I swear we can read his mood and emotions clear as a bell. I have to wonder if this is common trait for this breed.

We have two dogs right now..Sophie who's a Lab/Mutt mix found her on the side of the road..has to be the best dog that we've ever had.. and our newest Eddition our DOXIE Eddie Murphy Cullen....he's rowdy during the day and loves to sleep at night. Finally after 4 weeks of yelling pottie pad everytime he tried to go in the floor he went in on the pad! YAHOOO :D

labs, shepherds, chows, collies, terriers........all mixed together into one dog, from the animal shelter ;)

Huskies are my favorite!!
I had 2 growing up and then a dalmation which we'll never adopt again, too hyper.
Now I have a husky and hes the best!:lovestruc

I love most larger breeds, but my two favourites are labs and border collies and I'm delighted to have one of each at the moment! Maya is my border collie, she's so smart and eager to please (won first prize in obedience at a local show a few years back) but can be a bit neurotic. She's CONVINCED that I'm deaf or otherwise unable to hear the phone ring, so when it rings she barks as loudly as she can and tries to herd me towards the phone. It is VERY annoying. I've tried various things suggested by different trainers to cure her but nothing works for long. Despite that, I love her a lot and she's great company.

Toby, my lab, is a beautiful dog - everyone comments on how handsome he is. He is amazingly good with children. My 18-month-old grandson can hug him, hang on to him, climb on him, and he's never the least bit perturbed. The biggest challenge we have with Toby is his boundless energy. He's very strong (has broken a number of leashes and collars) and his main goal in life seems to be to spend as much time as possible running. He's happiest when we can get him to a big open space and let him off leash - he'll run and run and run for the next couple of hours.

I was at a party recently with some friends, none of whom have dogs. One commented that she had a dog for a while but he kept running around her house and making wrinkles on her rug, so she got rid of him. It made me laugh, because I really can't imagine being without a dog (or two). I guess some of us are dog people and some of us are not.

....... will give away my answer...

My all-time favorite breed is the Great Dane. We used to have two, and they were wonderful. That being said, I will never have another one. Their life span is too short, and the upkeep is very expensive.

My second-favorite breed is the Miniature Schnauzer. We have our second one now. She has a delightful disposition, loves to travel with us, and gets along great with kids.
