you know Rich I am only kidding!!LOL I agree why can't people throw away there trash or just leave it in their room. These people make it look bad to those visiting with us at our "HOME"

I have never located a trash room, and I've actually looked when walking down the hall at BCV. Our last stay there, I carried trash down to the bins by the pool. That probably looked a little weird. Maybe I can remember to ask at check-in next time. Diana

For those of you that want to use the trash room at the BCV, it is located just past the hall the jets out toward EPOCT. If you look at the sign when you get off the elevator, it will point you in the right direction.

Thanks for using it!
Rob

You must be vacationing with slobs! I know that perhaps I have not been very observant, but I never saw any trash in the halls at BCV, and I just got home two hours ago! Admittedly, I am not up at the crack of dawn, but the only bags of trash I saw were the ones put in the hall by the maids who were doing trash and towel. Other than that, all the trash that I saw came from room service, and they tell you specifically to put your stuff in the hall when you are done so they can pick it up. I can tell you for a fact that they were picking it up after midnight, since I walked during that time (hey, it's cooler to exercise then!). Now, if you want to talk about something that is all too obvious, let's talk about horribly-behaved children, and their moronic parents who don't even pay attention to what their brats are doing....

The contract we signed doesn't say a member's or renter's children have to be well behaved, there are no rules that need to be followed about a parent being irresponsible and inconsiderate to others accordeing to what we signed. As long as it's OK with the irresponsible parents, why should anyone here have a right to be concerned? They are not your kids. Leave them at teh pool and head out to do some shopping, someone will watch them for you. That's what the life gaurds are for, aren't they? Irresponsible parent's personal baby sitters?

p.s. Vote liberal.

I don't think the CM's ever explained a trash disposal system for DVC guests because I doubt they ever thought it would be needed. Apparently they are giving some members, (or renters) to much credit for having common sense. When we check in to a new resort, one of the first things we like to do is explore the place, look for ice machines, vending, etc. How can you walk to your room and not notice the TRASH room signs ? How can you think that bags of smelly trash lining a hallway is a normal practice for a deluxe resort. As for setting the trash outside your door so you don't forget to throw it away: Just set it in front of your door on the inside of your room. Maybe the odor will help remind you to throw it away if tripping over it on the way out doesn't.

Sounds like a good idea, I'll post it on the budget board.;)

My parents just checked into Vero Beach today. So far they love it. I mentioned to them on the phone that you have to take out your own trash. They already knew, were told at check in. Also received several Wecome Homes!!!! Can't wait to hear my first Welcome Home!!!!

Perhaps local people from Orlando could leave kids off during the day and pick them up in the evening as an alternative to daycare, it would certainly be cheaper.

We were just at BCV (last week in March) and the people across the hall seemed to be manufacturing garbage. Everytime I walked out of my room or came back to my room it seemed like there was a bag of garbage outside their door. We called housekeeping and they said that they were going to contact the people, I don't know if they did or not, but if they did it didn't do any good, the garbage kept appearing.

But what really bugged me was that someone smashed an over ripe banana on one of the walls and carpet, those are the kinds of things that happen when garbage is left in the open.

In all my previous trips, I have never seen garbage left in the halls. I was thinking that I was just in a section that had some major slobs! But it sounds to me like DVC needs to get the word out that the hallways are not alleys.

:( Only one explanation for that: S.L.O.B. Slovenly Lazy Obnoxious Boob.

We are DVC members as well as members of another time share. Our other time share has a small notebook with laminated pages that reminds us what to do with trash, what inventory should be in the room, what to do before checking out (throw out all remaining food), etc. Yes, most of it is common sense, but I guess some people need to see it in writing. Of course that leaves 1 of 2 things to happen to the notebook....the people who should read it never do, or it magically disappears never to be seen again.

In addition to the smells, the stains on the carpet and walls, but even worse just think of the bugs it's attracting.

I think consistent calls to the Front Desk with the room number of those that don't know the rules or care, would take care of it.

If not drop the garbage off at the front desk with a note that this belongs to Room ****.

Are you seriously equating leaving your garbage at the curb on pick up day with leaving garbage in the hallways of a deluxe resort that has no plans to pick up your garbage?

Sounds more like a self-centered dummy!!
