Whats the NICEST thing that has happened to you at WDW???

During our 2002 trip, my DD turned seven. She got to open Fantasyland with a tinkerbell wand, we got a voucher for the six of us to go to the head of the line at any ride in Fantasyland!

The "Main Street Band" (if that's what they're called) brought my DD out into the middle of Main Street and sang Happy Birthday and Zippity-Do-Da to her and gave her a special pin.

She also got a special certificate from Cinderella when we had breakfast at CRT that morning!! That's all she wanted, boy was I sweating it out trying to get that PS!!! I got VERY lucky that week as I was able to get PS for THREE seperate mornings at CRT during our stay!! (We kept the one on her B-day and cancelled the other two!!)

We have all this on video which we LOVE to re-live!!

When we were at MGM 3 weeks ago with my 8 yr old nephew we were going on the Great Movie Ride, my nephew ran ahead and was almost inside the building I asked the CM how long the wait was and she said 35 minutes so I called to my nephew to come out of line cause it was too long to wait in with my 20 month old. When he came off the line he had tears in his eyes and told the CM that he wished the line wasn't so long. She told us to follow her and we ended up in the building in the room that you enter the ride on. We were the only ones in there and the first ones on line. My nephew was so excited that she put us at the front of the line he gave her a huge hug. That was very nice!!! We felt really special.

Spending days of, uh, work hours reading this thread has left me, like others, goose bumply more than once. In a world that seems to grow more cynical and less loveable day-by-day, the stories mean that much more.

So, call me Pollyanna, Mr. Naive, insert your favorite cynical name here, but you know what these stories tell me? They tell me what a lot of us really want in life.

We want to love and be loved, to feel special. We want to know someone cares. And, the responses to this thread prove we don't need people to spend a lot of money on us, or even make a big effort to make us feel that way.

But, you know what? That spirit doesn't have to reside only at Disney. Why can't the pixie dust be spread everywhere? I mean, really.

Someone once said their daily goal was to make someone's day. Whether that was complimenting a person on a new hair-do or listening to a co-worker's problem, they wanted to lift a spirit each day.

Be a pixie. Spread the dust. Walt wouldn't mind. Maybe the spirit you lift will be yours.

I'm going to make my non-Disney-believer friend read this thread. She cannot understand why we go back each year to the "same old place" for vacation. I always tell her, just go once and you'll understand because it's too hard to put into words.

Well, this thread HAS put it into words and if this doesn't compel someone to go I don't know what would. My favorite has to be MMcoy's!

Thanks for all the wonderful stories. We leave in less than 24 hours and I can't think of a better send off than having read through all the posts (crying like a baby!) I hope to add to this thread when we return!

We were at MGM during Star Wars weekend. My DS15 decided to "share the love", so went up to a "bad guy", and gave him a big hug. The bad guy was taken aback for a moment, then stepped back, brushed himself off disdainfully, turned away haughtily, and walked off with his companions. So funny!

We were in WDW in Nov 2003 for DBF 40th Birthday. I made him wear the Birthday Button and GOH badge most of the week. All the CM's were very nice, saying "Happy Birthday Steve!!" everywhere we went but one of the nicest was a CM who worked in the gift shop in Dino Land.

We were browsing in the store and the CM behind the counter noticed Steve's Birthday button. He asked if we had an autograph book, puzzled, we said no and he said "wait right here!" He goes in the back room and comes out with some plain paper. He tells Steve to turn to the side and procedes to draw a caricature of Steve riding a dinosaur with mouse ears and writes Happy Birthday Steve 11/21/03. It was so nice. I didn't want to fold it! To this day it's displayed on our fridge!

Wonderful stories!! We just got back this past Sunday from our first trip. DH and I had such a blast with DD 4 and DS 2.

We had a wonderful CM experience. We were in Dinoland and were last in line to get on the Triceratop Spin ride. We were at the end of the line and as the people boarded, they split up, taking all the dinosaurs leaving us without one. The CM showed us out and told us we would be first to get on next. I looked at DS and he had his lip down and huge tears in his eyes. He gave out a whimper and said "my turn please". The CM was a few feet away and saw DS upset, and came up and talked to DS and told him that we get to ride twice, and we did. It was just really nice personal attention. I got the warm fuzzies.

A funny story was when we were on the Kilamanjaro Safaris and the guide was talking and mentioned "cheetahs". DD, said very loudly, Mama they have Cheetos!" Made the whole bus laugh. Precious.

I admit I jerked a tear when we rode Dumbo. Silly, but I looked down at my kids and flash backed to me as a kid riding Dumbo at Disneyland next to my parents who have both passed on. I thought WOW, I am riding Dumbo with my babies, it doesn't get any better than this!

And here was a special moment for my 2 yr old niece last week...we were at the character breakfast at Chef Mickey's last Wednesday. Dana learned to hold out a pen and her brand new autograph book and get autographs when the characters came by.....and everytime she & her sister posed for a picture, she would just look up at the character in awe (expecially when Minnie came by). As we walked to our table we saw Daisy and we waited for her to come to our table, but she didn't. I asked our waitress if she was coming around, and she said Daisy doesn't come to the tables, she just stays in the lobby area. So I took the girls to go wait to get Daisy's autograph. But before our turn, the music started and everyone was waving their napkins. Well, anytime Dana hears music she dances and this time was no different. Daisy saw her dancing and came over and joined her....Dana was thrilled. And then the girls got her autograph.. Really special.

Not always with pixie dust, but also sometimes with Fish. (follow the link and you'll see what it means). We all have the power to Choose our Attitude and Make Someone's Day. And, since the guys at Pike's Place Fish Market have met their goal of being World Famous, they are going on to other goals.

Anyway, more story:
On our last trip to WDW in March, we went to see if Mission Space would be something my daredevil daughter with multiple disabilities would be able to go. We decided it would not work for her, but there is a multiple person, interactive game at the end of the ride. Each person gets a console to send "fixes" up to the "astronauts" by pushing large buttons. Before the game actually begins, they have a practice period where the CMs help you figure out how to play. My DD was having problems with getting focused on which button to push and then getting her arms relaxed enough to push the buttons. One of the CMs came over and gave her just the right amount of encouragement. Enough to keep her going, but not so much it was embarrassing. During the actual course of the game, he checked to see how she was doing and at the end, the CM doing commentary about the game named her as the most improved space trainee. The CMs also presented her with a Magical Moment certificate with her name written on it. The encouragement made something that was difficult (and somewhat frustrating) for her because of her disabilities into something fun that she asked to do again several times.

Just thought of another one--

DD was 6 on her first visit to DW. We were touring Minnie's house and she turns to me and says, "Mommy isn't it nice of Minnie to let us in her house when she's not home?" Brings tears to my eyes even 8 years later.

Her favorite thing was the section of MK where you could meet the princesses and villians in Mickey's Toon Town. One afternoon, Cruella Devil saw her 101 Dalmation shoes and thought she was especially cute. She offered to take her to meet another princess in another room, and escorted her there personally

On the downside, she once waited almost an hour online to meet one of the princesses (I cant remember which), and by the time it was her turn, she had been replaced with another princess. She was so disapointed she cried

We love Disney so much, we wanted to share with family this year. BIL, SIL, and niece enjoyed "Disney Magic" twice. They were in line for the Lion King show and it was standing room only. Just before the show started, a CM told them to follow her. She sat them on the 2nd row! Later that week, they wanted to go to Coronado Springs since BIL had been there in April for a conference. Since they were at FW, the were going to take the first park bus and transfer to the CS bus. The first bus was for AK and no one else was getting on. The CM asked them if they were going to AK and they explained they really wanted to go to CS. The CM called dispatch and got the ok to take them directly to CS.

I love this thread so much! I have had tears in my eyes reading most of these posts, I love reading about the good in people. I have only been to WDW once, for my honeymoon this past April. DH and I were treated like royalty, people actually applauded for us as we walked around in our wedding ears! At O'Hana's a family sent over champagne for us, that was wonderful!

At that moment I decided that I would spread that pixie dust the next time I am at WDW. We will be back in December and I will be bringing along a big ole bag of it to spread around!

We we went to Disney this past April we went to the MK and I like those plastic mugs they sell to re use later for work and at home for travel. So Iwent to the cart at the end of Main Street at the end of the day and purchased on we went on a couple of rides and on the last ride Buzz light year I set in the seat at the end and it flew out. I was so bummed. I really wanted the mug so I went back to the cart at the end of Main Street and ordered another one the guy asked me what happened to my other mug I couldn't believe he rembered me it has been 2 hours or so. He gave me a new mug and refilled it for free and I dind't have to ask. I thought that was so nice I just couldn't believe it I'm not a little kid so I didn't think those things happened to us 29 year olds. We also had a really nice gentleman help us twice with are bags at POFQ and refused tip x2. So impressed that's why I will be going twice in a six month spand and I don't live close so we have to fly. I love Disney. Disney is not the cheapest vacation but you can't put a price on magic and happness. KELLY

There have been so many magical moments with wonderful CM's that it is hard to list just one.

I remember about 3 years ago when my DD was 5, we went to meet Ariel. Ariel remarked to my DD that she looked exactly like her daughter Melody. Well, to see my daughter's face light up with that simple remark. She still talks about it today. It's the little things that make it magical.

Also, last week we were at DL and had fastpasses for BTMRR. The CM was nice and let us keep our fastpasses to ride a second time. Well, my husband and I noticed during our ride that the two women in front of us were having a blast, so at the end of the ride we gave them our FP to ride again. To say they were happy was an understatement. It is fun to spread the magic as well!

Very simple but..... while waiting for a parade the nice family sitting next to us gave my 2 DD's a bucket of popcorn they had just purchased because the nice familys kids wouldnt eat it.
We offered them money for it.... but they wouldn't take it. It is always the little things that make your day!!!
