Whats the NICEST thing that has happened to you at WDW???

At AK my DD (5 at the time) had a complete meltdown (exhaustion?) just as our Fastpass time was arriving for Kil. Safari. The rest of our party went on to ride and I made my way to the offloading site to wait for them (along with my daughter). She was still very miserable and every attempt I made to cheer her up failed - not to mention that I was myself getting more and more upset with her. The CM offloading guests was a wonderful young lady from South Africa - she noticed us and immediately struck up a conversation with my daughter. It took a bit, but by the time my family reappeared the CM and my daughter had bonded, DD daughter was happy again, and I had had a wonderful time learning quite a bit about Africa!

These stories are amazing. I go between tears and laughing, all very sweet moments.

We have only had a couple....hoping to change that later this week.

My favorite moment was our last trip, and ds's frst trip. We had been on property for a while, checked in to our hotel and decided to go to MK for a little while. We walked out from under the train trestle and ds lets out a squeal and yells 'mama, we are at Dizzy World' I walked down Main St with tears in my eyes.

It also happened to be about 2:30, so we just stopped where we were and waited for the parade. When they stopped to let the kids in the parade ds ran right up to the Pooh float and was estatic that Pooh was waving at him.

The next morning we had breakfast at Chef Mickey's. Aside from seeing Pooh on the float, Sam really hadnt encountered the characters and was a little leery of Goofy in the lobby. Goofy sensed it and kept trying to get Sam to talk to him. Finally Goofy handed him a banana off the fruit table and Sam fell in love. If it wasnt for Goofy I dont think Sam would have ever had he nerve to meet any of the characters. As it turned out he loved them all. I have more pics of the back of Sam because he would fall into giant hugs with all the characters and never wanted to let go.

We were there during the Character Caravan mornings and had a great time with that too. From our room at ASMu I could see the bus pull up for the Caravan. I watched from the balcony as Minnie, Jessie Capt Hook and MR SMee got off the bus. Sam was still asleep, but I knew another bus was coming an hour later. SO I woke him up and got him dressed. I dindt know there were lines forming in the lobby since I went around the side of the building. Sam and I sat on a bench so I could show him the bus pulling up. All of a sudden a door right next to us opened and out came the same 4 characters I had seen earlier. Sam was in his glory and we had them to oursleves for a couple minutes before they went to the lobby.

Now I am a CM at a Disney Store. We dont have as much free reign to make magic for guests, but we can still do little things. We also get the magic from the guests.

We had a guy come in and arrange for us to play Cinderella on the in store TV's. We cued it up so Bibbidy Bobbidy Boo was playing at the right moment. His fiance came in the store, not knowing he was there. Her friends were in on this. They got her to sit at the Princess dressing table. Just then he came out holding a pillow with a glass slipper and a wedding gift for her. I think there wedding was the following weekend.

I had a couple little girls in shopping with their grandfather and they told me Grandpa was taking them shopping for their birthday gifts. We had recently had a couple give aways, so I checked with a manager and was able to give the girls a couple little things. They were thrilled.

Yesterday I had a dad in the store with his 3 kids. He was trying to find toys for each of them. His son, who was 2 1/2, took an instant liking to me. He grabbed my hand so I could take him shopping. Dad gave me an ok, so I took this little guy to some clearance Adventurer toys. He picked Capt Hook and kept chasing me around the store telling me 'look, its Hook' I wish I could have given it to him, but it was still very sweet to have this little guy following me.

Awwww, Bethany, thank you for sharing. Your stories were so sweet.

wow @ this thread, I have been reading this and just smiling away like a goof ball, I even teared up a few times, so sentimental!

Last July my husband, my sons and I took my parents to Disney for a joint 60th birthday present. One evening after finishing their birthday dinner at Le Cellier in Epcot I began packing up everything that you need to bring with you when you go out to a nice dinner with a 3 year old and a 10 month old, crayons, matchbox cars, pretzels, bottles... when I realized I could not find the plastic cap that covers the nipple of a baby bottle. I asked everyone at the table to look for it. When our waitress realized what we were doing she became very embrassed and admitted that she thought she had thrown the cap out by mistake. We assured her that it was not anything to worry about. We paid our bill(including a nice tip) and went on our way. The next morning we recieved a call from the front desk of the Boardwalk Villas that there was a package at the front desk for my husband. When we opened the package there was the sweetest apology letter from our waitress and the cutest Mickey Mouse sippy cup from a store manager in Epcot. CMs like that wonderful young lady and the manager of the Port of Call (I think that was the store) are the reason why I believe that there is no more magical a place to be!!

I'm bumping this.

It is one of my very favorite threads!:)

There's been a lot of things at WDW that I've had through the years and I agree with the poster about the Lion King show. I've seen many people cheer up, including myself, probably more than any other.

But the nicest thing was I got my current job at WDW, after my boss came down and had a great time there at the parks. Kinda got him hooked and he makes a regular business trip down.

I've been waiting to share this with someone...so glad you asked! We took DD to MGM to celebrate her 7th birthday. After a day of stuffing our faces with all kinds of yummy and different foods we went to see the Fantasmic show to top off the day. We noticed after dinner she began to get quiet and didn't want dessert  Well, we just figured she was getting tired, big day and all. Well right at the end of the Fantasmic show she jumps up and says she has to get to the bathroom and fast! We ran out of there as fast as we could but the nearest bathroom was quite a distance, down the ramp onto the street and down to the left. The poor thing had a bad tummy attack (I'll spare you the details) We sat in the bathroom for so long that the park was actually clearing out. We didn't know what to do, she soiled her clothes, was crying and upset (and embarrased). My DH stood outside the bathroom for an eternity waiting for us. A CM came by and told him to head out of the park and he explained the situation to him. A couple minutes later two female CM's came in the restroom, told me where I could send hubby to get a set of undies and clothes (from a gift shop that was already closed.) They had shut the registers down in customer service but walkie-talkied to another CM who brang us a bottle of Pepto-Bismol...no charge and brought us a stroller to wheel her out to the parking lot in. They made us feel so good about a terrible ordeal and it was so cool leaving and being escorted out with lights up and everyone gone. I will always remember the kindness and patience of these CM's and security. My DD even shyly asked the security guard who walked us all the way out to our car if she could have his autograph!! :earseek:

Two of my favorites:

1. After enjoying Country Bear Jamoboree on those low benches, we headed to lunch, where I discovered that my wallet was no longer in my pocket. Figuring it had fallen out during the Bears, I ran back and explained the situation to the CM at the door. She asked where I had been sitting, then disappeared. She reappeared in a few minutes - she had crawled around on the floor on her hands and knees and found my wallet in the dark! Every penny was there, of course! What a sweetie!

2. My sister and I went on a trip to AKL celebrating her successful kidney transplant (after a four year wait) and we got upgraded to a room with a view! What a wonderful trip!

We were watching the spectromagic parade, and there was this lady in front of me just bawling!!! She was so caught up in the magic, the she was in tears. I actually teared up a little listening to her. In fact, just thinking about that feeling WDW gives, makes me want to cry right now. I'm going to be a mess in July!!!

Housekeeping at Wilderness Lodge left my daughter a doll made of handtowels; a cast memeber at Coronado Springs gave her an uncirculated Tink pin

3 years ago my grandfather in winterpark passed away. My dad and I decided to go down to lend some support to my grandma. Because she's such a wonderful person she insisted that we go to WDW and have a good day and that it's what my grandfather would want. She came with us but wasn't having a good day.
We ended up at the MK and walked over to one of the outdoor pianos. What was amazing is that even though my grandparents hadn't been to disney in years, the piano player remembered her, by grandfather's name(Tom), and her favorite song. When my grandma explained where Tom was the CM gave her a hug and proceeded to play their song.
IT was the MOST MAGICAL moment I've every experienced at WDW. Although many tears came after this it meant so much to her that the CM remembered them both. I'll never forget it.

Moments like this are what makes me want to spend the most important day of my life (my wedding day) at Disney.

There are 2 that stand out for me.

When we took my DD when she had just turned 1, a CM at the Winnie the Pooh ride saw us standing in line (a very long line) our first night there and thought she was just the cutiest thing she had ever seen and offered us a pass to the fastpass line so we would not have to wait. Needless to say the people behind us were not happy, but for us it was a good start to a great trip.

The other one was when my DD (3 this time) threw up in front of the Mann's Chinese Theartre at MGM all over the celebrity tiles. A CM came right over and saw that she had it all over her and asked us her size of clothes. After a little wait and a clean-up of the ground, she returned with a free Disney shirt to change her into. They did not have any shorts her size or else she would of got those also. I thought that was SOOO nice as my DD didn't have to ride back on the bus in dirty clothes. DD is now 4 1/2 and still wears that shirt, definately the cheapest souvenior we have ever got at Disney.

I wasn't going to, but after reading all of these great stories and alternating between tears and laughs, I might as well share my story too.
We were at MK on a VERY crowded (and rainy) Monday two weeks ago when we decided to get on line to meet Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore (my favorites). My boyfriend and I had our pictures taken with Pooh and Tigger and everything seemed fine. We got on line to meet Eeyore and had a picture taken with him too. Next thing I know, Eeyore is walking away from everyone with me (toward the backdrop) and won't let me go. Then he gets on one knee like he is proposing. I just thought this was the cutest thing, so I turn around to make sure my boyfriend had the camera and was taking a picture. Well when I turned around I sure got the surprise of my life....there was Dan, on one knee just like Eeyore, proposing. That was certainly a day to remember, and I can't wait for a honeymoon in Disney.

ahhh Krissy, that's a great story!!! Thanks for sharing!

Me again

We just got back from WDW and had a few special moments.

~~Sam got to be the one to wake up Tinker Bell one morning. He was pretty impressed with his magical moment certificate.

~~He also got to participate in a pin memory match game, and got another certificate with a pin attached.

~~A very nice CM gave Sam a Mickey pin off his lanyard when he saw Sam was crying. Sam was mad at me because I told him we couldnt stay for the Kids Dance Party at Downtown Disney. The pin cheered him up, but when DH caught up with us he softened and we stayed for the dance party anyway.

~~Sam caught a stomach bug during the first couple days of our trip. The foodcourt didnt have any plain rice available, so the manager at Boatrights made a serving of rice for me to take to him.

~~My favorite was our first day back to the parks after Sam had been sick. When we got back to the room our housekeeper had arranged all of Sam's Mickeys so it appeared they were watching TV. She knew Sam had been sick since we were going through towels and bedding like crazy.
I know the toy arranging is a fairly common event, but what made it so special was Sam's reaction.
He was positively convinced Tinker Bell had come to our room to do magic. He even insisted we go to the 'workers in the building' (guest services) to tell them what happened.
The CM's at the desk listened so intently while Sam told them about the magic that happened in our room. They then gave him a little coloring book and crayons and told him Tinker Bell forgot to leave it in the room.
